Sis, I think you should probably research a bit of info about how Alcohol leads to a condition termed as "Fatty Liver" which is basically progressive degenration of Liver, and how it leads to Kidney Failure, but that is in case you are a heavy drinker. And how it shortens life span.
YES-well all that IS true indeed...but fortunately I am not a heavy drinker and I was just relating it to weight loss for this video-but good point!!! xxx
I am so glad you mentioned still giving yourself permission to ENJOY a "treat" (whatever that is) because it is part of living a truly rich and full-filling life. I emphasised 'enjoy' because all too often people will eat/drink the treat with guilt and shame, which removes the treat from the treat--and may cause them to indulge further with a " I give up" attitude.
Life is meant to be fun--it's all about balance, which you said beautifully in your video.
Oh you so have a good point. I'll keep that in mind when I'm eying those cookies in the apartment office. I'm on that coffee like a cat on a mouse but my holistic provider says I'm supposed to stay away from wheat, sugar, soy, and some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head. Oh, caffeine is one of them too, but... (sorry Dr. Scott!)
That was very interesting, My dad listened in-he liked it too. my brothers the one that should watch though, he's the one that drinks and eats and wonders why he's gaining weight..lol
I'm glad i rarely drink anything, especially those lolly drinks that i like. Your certainly looking very healthy megan :-) man i haven't made a youtube video in ages...
Well, I don't crave those sauces and such just from drinking alcohol, but I DO eat when I'm drinking since I've been warned off about drinking on an empty stomach. Besides that, I CAN get away with drinking white wine on an empty stomach if I want to, but I HAVE to eat something with red wine or I'll get sick to my stomach. It's just one episode and then I'm ok, but I still prefer not to get sick.
Yeah, right now instead of wine lately I've had my wine rack stashed with sparkling juices: apple,, blueberry, cranberry, and POMEGRANATE!!! Ooohh, I love that stuff! I've been drinking that stuff in place of wine at night, pretty crystal glass and all. : )
Interesting video and something I've tended not to think too much about. Thinking about it though, it's probably been the cause of weight gain in the past but I was young and having fun! I don't drink much now but when I do it's either JD & coke or cocktails so not good but my problem is that the other options in pubs never seem any healthier (e.g. juice, coke, lemonade etc) :(. Moderation is definitely key!
Here in USA in Tennessee we are starting winter and I found Leslie Sansone's Walk away the pounds great for the freezing cold days because now I can just walk inside!
You look terrific Megan. Thanks for sharing the info. But like you've said; we do have to enjoy life a bit and since I only drink on occasion, I don't pay that much attention to the rules when I'm having fun : )
So here's my tip for those who wish to mix exercise and alcohal. Get a kids sipper cup so you won't spill the alcohal while on the tred mill. Hope this advise helps millions!
I'm a big fan of alcohal, but as to the diet sodas, you need to do some research on what's in it. Google apsertaime and Donald Rumsfeld, and see the connection. Also they just came out today with a study stating that if you drink as little as 2 diet sodas a day, you are at risk of kidney damage. And not with regular soda.
I know from personal experience that alcohol does cause weight gain. My weakness is wine with dinner when I go out. I would say moderation is the key here.
Now whenever I go out to places where people are drinking, they all look foolish. It would seem that to fit in would require me to start drinking again.

Hi Jewel, I am an armchair admirer of you! If I ever exercise, your beautiful image will my inspiration!!
I've often wondered about the energy content of raw alcohol.
I distill my own alcohol, it comes out at around 93%( the other 7% is nearly all water).
I often drink this alcohol with just diet drink (Pepsi-max, etc). I've often wondered what is the calorie content of just raw alcohol.
Keep up the great videos!!
