Dear Mr Lopez, you have mentioned that "...Johansson was the daughter of the legendary Danish teacher Christian Johansson...". To my knowelege Johansson was Swedish, not Danish. He was the student of Danish chreographer Bournonville.Thank you for all your postings.
@MrGr4 - oh ye - I believe you are correct. I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of "danish training" rather than his C. Johansson's nationality. I will fix this. Thanks for telling me. :)
Leonova's variation was fantastic! is she possibly the daughter of Marina Leonova? the director of the Bolshoi school? She kind of looks like her with her wide face and blonde hair
wow .. at 1:42 .. inverted italian fouettes.. I never saw that! .. from ecartè en arrier to passè en avant .. you could also end it to attitude en avant.. it sounds spectacular
Alexandrova's variation is the one Makhalina danced in the Mariinsky's DVD with the Paquita Grand Pas, yes? Thank you so much for posting these videos. :)
I love to read your descriptions! and thanks for this video it is lovely, and I also noticed some of the hands, I was really focused after reading your descrption... and Alexandrova is LOVELY here!
Beautiful variations made even more meaningful and relevant today by your quite interesting and detailed history. Makes me regret that their are no videos of the "old-time" great ballerinas.
Thanks for these videos. Do you know where I can find the complete scores for Paquita? I had a CD of Paquita with Spassov conducting a few years ago but I lost it. I think it's now out of print.
what's the variation called at 4:50??

@danceluverful - the foor is not to blame, it is merely the brightness of the video, which I was unable to correct.
