Scott McCloud is my personal favorite. I'm glad you suggested him! Although Making Comics is the only book you need. Understanding and Reinventing Comics is just research, if you ask me.
check my finalized colored drawings at facebook type jose asitimbay. Its a contest of whom can do better artwork. Well type comic book drawing contest. Its a challenge to anyone out there. It makes the inkers job obselete and takes coloring to a new level.
I have the so you want to be a comic book artist book. IT did not help me that much. BUT those other 2 books look help full. IF you want to improve your art then I would say to get How to draw the marvel way. AND get this dvd calld How to create comics. IT help me so much. I am working on drawing on the right side of the brain right now SO i cant say if it is good or not right now.BUT i will take a look at the other 2 books. I would say get the how to draw books 1st then How to make a comic 2ed.
do you know any book on help for the art in comics. i really need some help on my art so i can better communicate my stories. i really like getting in to detail on the art..
does making comics, show you how to make the body look like they are facing each other .or how do you make a body look like its picking up something.how about how do you make it look like the viewer is closer to the face than to the feet ..i guess its called viewpoint..please answer the best you can ..its hard for me to communicate what im asking for.
making comics doesn't actually show you how to draw. it gives you lots of insight into how to "plug in" your drawings into the accepted comicbook formt
nice, thank you. i just got scott mccloud's book "making comics" before i saw this vid. the reason why he put's "pointless" things in there btw is because it's made for not only people who want to make comics but also for those who just like the medium in general so that it isn't just a step by step thing but has additional things as well. i was going to get the complete idiots guide but i'll get that next time i have the extra cash.

Have you actually read Making Comics? Because he only says "how can you make a book out of this?" in Understanding Comics as far as I can remember.
