There was an event for mew just like their was for Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Arceus and others, the event is over and the only way to get mew now is through glitches.

in the firered/leafgreen, the truck is still here, but if you use the itemfinder, you'll find something good. The programmer put this there because of the rumor about Mew's under the truck.
This makes me wonder how many have tried this themselves, I have as a gullible child along ago, I traded over a Pokemon that knew cut, can't remember which one and didn't get the HM cut so the boat would stay and was very disappointed.

@Keyaku1 Go to the Captain, get HM01, lose to another trainer, appear at pokecentre, continue game until you get surf and it can be used outside of battle, return to SS Anne and use surf to get to the truck.

If you're mentioning the Safari Zone catch, of course not. Just when I was searching a Pokemon Yellow rom (legally since I own it), I stumbled upon one and started playing but I then, I found out it was severely changed when I was in midgame (masterballs and other nice items for free, mew catchable in Safari Zone...)
Instead of insulting people, you should ask them how. I didn't want a hacked ROM but hell, now it's too late, I've wasted too much time to restart

It's in FireRed, too. It's out of sight, so it's impossible to get there by normal means, but by using ROM-hacking tools, I found out that it's a map tile and not an interactive object. Yeah, lame, I know.
