Great song, tribute to a great man. 10 Men died for no other reason than for Maggies govt to prolong a history of genocide
Bobby Sands, Francis Hughes Ray McCreesh, Joe McDonald and he others are great heroes, guilty of nothing more than expecting shame from the war machine of the british empire
Very beautiful song, I am from UK but my Grandad was Irish, and I love Irish music, and would love to visit Ireland. The Wolfe Tones are awesome, and this song gives me goosebumps !
Wonderful singing by Tommy Byrne, so goose bumpy ! I am from Norfolk, but had an Irish grandfather and I love Irish music, particularly The Wolfetones. I hope you don't hate me !
it defintly was Conori was up in the balcony was some nite, the next best one will be the Waterfront in October 26th for the lads 45th Anniversary Concert!!
i was at this show and it was an unreal atmosphere... the lads were top class as usual!! what a great song to tribute to the men of 81 written ofcourse by brian warfield!!
Sorry hi whoever told you that are away out everyone knows, who is educated in the irish ballad scene that Brian Warfield wrote the song shortly after joe mc donnells death.. and he was not going to release it because he was afraid of the hurt and pain it might cause Joe Mc Donnells family. but it was joe mc donnells wife herself that met up with Brian and told him to release.. so whoever give you that information there 100% wrong...
3:31 that's the catalyst.
Most strong, the leader. May your courage be a lead to us all, in all our humdrum lives and an inspiration true be us for always. from germany

It wasn't written by Warfield. If Warfield said it, then he's a feckin liar. It was written by a Derry ex-p.o.w..

Correct Conall! Brian Warfield was the only writer of 'Joe McDonnell'. Anyone who says different, don't know what they are talking about!
