  • Well that settles that then. . .

  • LOL

  • on a more serious note...BREEHH

  • "on a more serious note"...hahahahaha

  • I bet they had no idea what he was talking about, but for being put in an abnormal position it seems to me that Frank pulled off a great "normal" stance on the question.

  • Frank hit it on the nose like he allways does I love Fank Zappa-he one of my mentors-

  • i think franks just trying to say no one wants to see him in his pojamas sat on his sofa(n0 1)chillin, he,s a performer showing his media face. frank just likes to tell it how it is.sorry liked...RIP one of a kind

  • What else would you expect from Channel Bore?

  • Peter Sissons' comment right at the very end: "On a more serious note...".

    What a pompous asshole.

  • I would be curious to know what a "more serious note" might be in this case.

  • I love Frank Zappa... his music, his attitude, his words... but surely Frank agreed to do this interview? If he thinks that being interviewed is abnormal... why did he agree to be interwied? Anyway... the interviewer was a "polite dumb ass" ...

  • On a more serious note? Is this guy kidding?

  • Frank is one of the most incredible human beings... Thanx Frank:::RIP

  • so true!! abnormality with an interview.. no better way to put it.

  • ahahaha on a more serious note!

  • UNKORB

  • HAH!

  • That's one of the things I loved about Zappa. You present him with mediocrity in any form (the redundant and formulated interview questions in this case) and he will put you in your place without you even realizing it just happened. RIP Frank

  • he looks like prince here

  • He looks like Charly García!!!! Say No More...

    Miss you Frank...

  • one of the smartest SOBs ever...

    zappa ruled!

whish he was here with us today...

and, having worked for a tv news show... i loooooooved this!

  • he was having a particularly ostentatious day and yet he still makes me laugh

  • frank zappa has a unique talent for making his interviewers look stupid.

  • i love his voice. its so soft and relaxed. and relaxing.

  • on a more serious note......!!!!!

  • The interveiwer got totally owned, totally fucking owned...go Zappa!

  • deepthwart :: Hey it was of 'a time'.

Both Peter Sissons & Frank were "at odds". Neither were "at fault".

I bet peter is turing in Frank's grave over this interview (Irony, septic friends, irony)

  • GAAARRRGGH How embarrassing. I saw Zappa 6 times in the uk and never realised what stupid interviews he had to go through when he came here, and Peter Sissons is normally quite a sensible interviewer. How are you supposed to take an interviewer seriously who is basically asking "are you a phoney or not"? How rude! No wonder Zappa said in his autobio that he took a poor view of the English media, even worse than other countries.

  • Fantastic...miss the guy very much....long live Zappa.

  • I miss this man so much R.I.P Frank

  • He has such weird eyes.

    But so cool. :)

  • que vas muy colocado Frank

  • I remember this piece to camera at the time, and Peter Sissons reaction at the end.(Sissons was in the same classes as John Lennon as a schoolboy) But I always remember Zappa referring to being a plumber as a metaphor. Where has my memory and the plumber gone!?

  • "...on a more serious note" AS IF Frank wasn't being serious! The joke's on you, asshat interviewer...

  • haha, that was fantastic. you have to fucking love the man.

  • Man what was that burp sound at the end? lol

    That really got me!

    Good vid btw

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

fantastic sarcasm by frank, you'd have to get jacked off answering stereo typical questions all the time.

  • Typical interview with Frank - asked stupid and meaningless questions. Almost every interview I see with Frank I shudder at the moronic questions they ask him. He sums it up perfectly at the end "...being interviewed is one of the most abnormal things that you can do to somebody..."

  • Great! Zappa is the music's Einstein. R.I.P Frank,

  • man, that studio reporter rolling his eyes at the two very last seconds made me laugh; what a bag o' douche. "...on a more SERIOUS note" ...total douche.

  • we should all grow hair and a mustache... and we'll start the tribute band in a few years.

  • most can't, since they are 1/2 bald, and wouldn't look as a band.0

  • frank love and miss u sooooo much

  • one of the best guitarists in earth with a zzzzzzzz mode.

  • he looks bored to zzz's

  • "On a more serious note..."

I would have preferred if he had said 'And now, for something COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT...'

  • Hehehe, well, maybe a more suitable ending would be right after he says "two steps removed from the inquisition", having the spanish inqusition drop by.

    "Nobody expects the spanish inquisition!"

  • Damn he has some good quotes :D two steps removed from the inquisition. Thats just sweet as hell.

  • This was filmed in 1983? And it's in black and white? That's cool, I guess.

  • amazing

  • "interviews are the closest thing to inquisition..." heheheh... man, i miss frank zappa

  • On a more serious note... Seriously owned. As they say...

  • frank smart ass lol

  • Frank absolutely torched this lame!

  • Why is it that TV interviewers have forgotten the ast of asking questions that get useful answers. If the "interviewer" had asked the right questions, we would have heard 3 seconds of questions and 1 minute 25 seconds of Zappa.

  • ...'On a more serious note.' Peter Sissons, highly respected newsreader neatly shows why I don't have a TV anymore. Miss you so much, Frank.

  • we salute you

  • Great clip. He certainly put that smug interviewer in his place.

  • peaches en regalia! zappa lives.

  • "And on a more serious note"

  • you're telling me he wasn't high on drugs?

  • no tard farmer - he was on a joggers high...

Seriously, why does an articulate, dare I say brilliant, man have to be pigeon holed as being high?

  • Throughout his life, Zappa eschewed illegal drugs and alcohol, choosing to only consume a steady diet of coffee and cigarettes. He preferred a clear mind to induced psychedelia, and often criticized the drug culture of the 60s. I highly (haha) recommend you check out my favorite album of his, We're Only In It For the Money, for a fantastic lampooning of the counter culture.

  • i was trolling. caught some nice ones. thanks guys.

  • oh zing you got us!

  • Frank did not "eschew" alcohol. He may not have been a heavy drinker but he did drink.

  • ...but only a "couple-a quarts-a beer."

  • Lame.

  • Zappa was a fucking genuis.

  • sweet; i love it bc using language to your advantage is key; everything is about how you frame it. He was probably wrong but the words he used were key. think about it and your dreams will be fulfilled

  • that's deep.. so deep

  • Too smart for TV...
