Around here we call this a sub or hero sandwich. A grinder as I know them from little Italy, is a loose meat concoction simmered in tomato and Italian seasonings. Then baked until the mozzarella is crisp and bubbly ... it usually contains both sausage and ground beef ;)

try Screpsis in Reading Pa for the best italian sandwich around! There ham on rolls cant be touched!!!!!!
