No, that won't work. See, the reason Six Flags is abusing their animals is because they want money, and people will pay money to see exotic animals. If you go to Six Flags, you'll be giving them money and they'll continue to do it. Besides the only other thing to do there is go on rides and animals (especially elephants and fennec foxes) are sensitive to loud noises and the rollercoasters, speakers, etc are RIGHT next to the animals.
Since you to don't get the fact that I don't disagree with your stance on this, I won't say anything other than I am a conservation professional and I am an active and strong advocate for animals NOT being in captivity but the way you use your words and the way you think things happen are off base... that is all i will say and you two will have to just work a little harder to see the better way of going about your good intentions...
Hi, I don't mean to be a killjoy, but Six Flags abuses their animals. Practically every animal there is either forced to perform silly, degrading tricks, lives in a horrid and inadequate habitat, is surrounded by loud rides and speakers, all three, or is just plain miserable. If you'd like to know what they do to a certain animal, just ask. And if you guys care about animals, then don't go to Six Flags, you'll be supporting the abuse.
they don't abuse the animals there... the only ones abusing the animals are the ones who capture them and the ones who buy them... animal trainers and keepers love their animals and work to train natural behaviors on command for enrichment... in a perfect world though, even their keepers and trainers would love to see them all in the wild, but it is impossible...
Oh puh-lease. The elephants have been seen being beaten and stabbed with bullhooks. They're crammed in a tiny barren dirt yard, and being forced to do unnatural tricks that they don't want to do, but do anyway because they don't want to risk getting another beating. That's not enrichment. No animal lives a good life in a theme park where they're surrounded by loud rollercoasters and speakers. I study animal cruelty and animals in general, and this is DEFINITELY animal cruelty
SamCohen is right. For all of you wanting to go to this place: don't! Sure, it's got lots of rides, but they also keep all their animals in horrible, cramped pens and cages, and lie to the visitors about how they're taken care of. I spoke with 3 staff members there and was lied to each time. They only tell you what you want to hear.
Theme parks are NO place for animals. Don't go until they give their animals to sanctuaries, which have been asking for their release for years.
i plan to go there this summer! I've always attended its bigger and better known cousin Six Flags Magic Mountain. I never knew this good looking park existed until some months ago! Any rides that are musts? I will probably get on all of them anyway.
Yeah I know. Butyit makes me wonder why Six Flags has two parks here in california. I know discovery kingdom is more dedicated to animals, but why not just combine Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom. Animals would be a good family attraction, as would the new Tony Hawk Coaster, and Magic Mountain needs more flat rides. And more roller coaster would give it both Thrill Capital of the World and Roller Coaster Capital of the World.
going there with PHMS in june 3 2010

Good video, I love it Six Flags. It's also cool when EVERYBODY goes to the Shouka show..... no rides for about any of the big rides.
