Total inspiration. WOOT. I've loved vocal sound manipulation since seeing Police Academy for the first time ;-) You, Beardyman and Bobby McFerrin, and Michael Winslow need to go on tour together... In Canada specifically.
(part 2 of 2)... so I've been looking at Max msp and reaktor a lot, and It's very difficult to choose. Then yesterday I discovered Pure Data, and I have been eating tutorials all night - it's a little bit dry at the beginning, but I suppose that's how most things begin.
But my question for you (and other people reading this), would be: does reaktor use the same "workflow" or way of coding and working with objects, text boxes etc like pure data?and would learning pure data help me with reaktor?
Hi Tim. You're a huge inspiration to me. I mean really huge!! I love what you do and your openness about it: videos, blogs, interactive jams (which my friends and I tributed to with a messy vocal-jam that you tried to use).
I'm going to attempt one of your workshops - that's for sure.
I make my music in Ableton Live and Logic Pro (been doing that for 4 years now), and I'm getting more interested in the flesibility of programing your own patches and stuff (part 1 of 2)..
Hi Tim! Is there a sequencer running your rig to quantize the audio loop points? Do the drums triggered from the MPD16 get recorded as MIDI and quantized on the fly, or are they recorded as audio with everything else? I found a Reaktor ensemble called Looper Beginning2 which quantizes it's record-enable trigger to MIDI clock, but it seems restricting for quick punches. Are you running a special insert on your live audio channels that's making this happen? - Rheyne
this is AMAZING!!! i've never seen anything like this joystick! you must be very knowledgeable in tech behind gear & electronics and such for midi? awesome jamsession! i wanna learn more!!!
great vid thx! but, can you standardize volumes between cuts a bit more plz? dunno if it's peak or RMS you are considering, but having to adjust the volume while watching cuts into multi-tasking time : P but...... great colour coordination, luv it. peace
one of the best performances ive seen on the hns stage
too bad they put you BEFORE my musical idol chris clark and not after. this way his live act just seemed so boring compared to what you did. THANKS FOR RUINING IT FOR ME!!!!!! haha. seriously man - thanks for the very very awesome performance. could you maybe tell me what was the first "full" song u did?
As always amazing Mr. Exile :-) , but I have some questions:
Are the loopers based on an iteration module like Beatlookup? I mean , I know they are based in core arrays but to copy between them, do u use the iteration module?
The Mixer and the filters of the loopers is all made in core or in primary?
Mr Exile.... thanks for the inspiring videos! Keep em coming. Its great when amazing artist's teach as well. I must admit I have stolen your joystick idea but its really no match for yours. Visit Sydney sometime soon yeah? Much love
Tim, I have your "finger" plug in which I love...Do you have any other plans to market a prepackaged plug of your reactor setup? Also what particular plugin in reactor is your looper? Or do you use ableton as a looper?
I would love to play with your toys!! I'm using an x-station and axiom 25 together in my reaktor rig. Anyone here know how to get the encoders on the axiom to work?
Hi Tim, I really Appreciate that you made these Blogs. Since it´s not Possible for me to visit Berlin. For me& sure many others the most intresting stuff besides youre Amazing Sounds is how you´ve done these in Reaktor.
On 5:45 you Click from instrument view to a macro. What contain these Macro a bit more specific please? Is this the Recording Looper section?
Hello Tim, it's Esau Hasket here! I'm uber glad I made it to the vblog, haha ;) over last year you have become one of the most thrilling artists to me - amazing. I can't wait to be on one of these jamshops (in London I guess...)!
The song from the intro has some brilliant sounds, where you say video bog and the 'ooOOoo', love it!

I don't know much about reactor 5. What does reactor have that makes it unique to other DAW?
hucksinette 1 year ago
@hucksinette It's more of a platform for making your own audio tools than a DAW, so you can make it be what you want it to be.

@marcpinol Indeed... I was almost expecting stuff to fall on the road.
@timexile So speaking about the joystick, what software do YOU use to interface it with good ol' Reaktor?
Gameboygenius 1 year ago
@Gameboygenius I use Plogue Bidule. It has a module which converts anything USB to MIDI

by the way is so kind you let them use your gear...i do that too with friends. one broke a midi...well it was a crappy keyboard anyway.
and so the behringer (if i think is a bcf slider) is motorized? I have two of knobs running with ableton live.
