@ajax515 L.A. is actually an incredible place. It has its slums & it has its 5 star spots. The rich & poor are so interconnected in L.A.; much like Chicago & New York as well. L.A. is beautifully-disgusting & disgustingly beautiful; you really gotta love it. L.A. has heart much like Chi & NY. Most would say NY tops all three & that may be true; mainly due to the size of its urban city but in respects for all three they each really have their own separate & unique soul. At least acknowledge that.

Flying into LA doesn't have that big city feeling because no offense but the downtown in no way stacks up to Chicago or Manhattan. It's more like connected suburbs that just go on and on. I understand that each city has it's own unique thing, I would disagree with most those people but, eh.

John was playin blues way before he got famous playing acoustic pop. he was doing amazing covers of texas flood and bold as love at the age of 16.... he wanted to be a musician because of stevie ray vaughan (R.I.P.) so you can bet your ass he's a blues musician.. among many other genres.. you can find him playing almost every kind of music on youtube if you're a fan.

I do have to admit, as much as I dig John's playing and solo skills, which are stupendous, Jimmy did indeed school him on this song. Didn't hurt that he was playing slide on a blues tune, and John's Black Relic really didn't sound as ridiculously great as it usually does. I think he's not playing through his usual Two Rocks on this one.
