The video is great and very helpfull but a person shouldnt have to work on a new gun like that. I wonder why they dont have issues like this when test firing? If they do, prolly pick em randomly and shoot a few rds. Im just bummed out about mine, I had a good P-3AT that was even smaller but my brother took his own life w/it and it took me 8 mos. to get it back from the cops, felt weird carrying it sold it and got this instead. And wish I hadnt. I'll just have to deal w/it.
I dont know where ppl are getting the 'scaled down Glock' stuff from, ever seen a Glock that has that u-shaped trigger bar and a RH. & L.H. trigger spring like that? Just to look at it it resembles a Kahr more than anything in my opinion, but like I said 'just to look at it' I dont like being negative but the P-3AT's I have had will function and shoot (accuracy wise) circles around this D.B. clunker I just spent $439 on. And I had to pawn my .45-70 for the down-pyt. I really feel let down.
ThatsOK but if you still have issues with it if you have to send it to them they are gonna tell you that you voided the warranty. I know that can happen for a fact. I e-mailed them and they got back w/me and said I apperantly wasnt pulling the slide back all of the way. Imagine that....Out of the prolly 150 autoloaders I have had in my lifetime I have never done,or not done something like that. If she needs a couple hunderd rds. ran thru it still I guess I'll just have to get the wallet out.
My DB380 hasn't had my confidence as a cc weapon since it jammed repeatedly last time at the range. Wouldn't feed properly, wouldn't eject and was a general pain in the butt. Watched your video today, did as you prescribed plus a little dressing on the front block where the edges are also crisp and I can't believe what a difference that made!! It's smooth as silk now! Thanks for your observations and demo.
@uncleharley1 hi there, I'm wondering if you have shot your db380 since you posted this comment. Still running good? What ammo are you shooting? I would like to get one of these guns but am a bit worried about all the problems other people have had with theirs. I love my lcp except that the accuracy due to the sights is not what it could be. I love glocks too and this is like a scaled down glock. What is your overall opinion now that you have had the gun for a while? Thanks!
Really appreciate the video and the tips you provide. I wasn't aware the the sharp underside of the extractor, but, thanks to you I am now & will smooth mine out too. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video. My father-in-law has a DB Series ZA#### and has between 100 and 120 rds through it with multiple FT Feed and FT Eject problems. Although typically, a few malfuntions are common during the break-in period, his appeared to be a turd. > Anyway, I worked the trigger a few hndred times and took the sharp edges off of the arm as you indicated. I racked and ejected a variety of FMJ's and JHP's a few dozen times with no problems. I'll let you know how it does at the range soon.
After all I have seen on this gun...I can say it looks cool and is a good concept...but i would say the best tip I think you can give regarding this gun is get a ruger LCP....not as cool looking but I had one which I regret selling that never malfunctioned except with wadcutters in it....This is more effort than I want to put into a gun....i will continue to carry my chunky glock 26 until i can afford a lcp again....i have to say u are pretty knowledgeable about your weapon
This was of great help. I debated for a very long time wether or not to get the DB380 due to all the problems in the break in period and I didn't want to spend a small fortune in 380 ammo to do it. This video was the edge I needed to go ahead and purchase. I did the things you talk about prior to firing and I had ZERO failures is the first 100 rds. I am confident the next 100 will be just as smooth THANKS!
Just good ole american common sense, take a $300.00 firearm and make it work like a $600.00 firearm. The extra $300.00 you pay is for the hand work you demonstrated.
thanks for the tips, helped alot...just bought mine last night...havent fired yet but it is having trouble with that first round in the chamber...i will try the sand paper and work the spring. Thanks man
I think this will just about cover the problems I read about for everyone's Diamondback! I just bought one yesterday and was somewhat discouraged when I started reading reviews for this gun. Then I watched your vid and I have a new sense of hope. I just started using your trigger break in tip and I already see a line wearing in that transfer bar. I think your right on target with these tips. Thanks a bunch!
I should have my db380EXO in a couple of days. I've got to go to the range and shoot at least 50 rounds as part of concealed carry class and I really don't want to be there trouble-shooting my pistol in the middle of the class. Would there be any harm in implementing your tips on the trigger and slide on my piece right out of the box, or should I wait and see first how it handles?
Just got mine a few days ago. Took it to the range today. Numerous failures to feed. I thought it might be the ammo, but I had three different kinds with me, and after a while, they all failed. I'm definitely going to try your solutions and see what happens. Thanks for posting this.
I want to thank you for your suggestions, they worked fine and I had both the feeding problem and the trigger reset problem. I was having a lot of miss feeds and trigger reset problems, I think you have provided the solution
Thank you VERY much for this info. I've been interested in the DB380, but put off from purchase because of the potential for problems. Your simple, direct solutions have made me more comfortable considering purchase, and tuning it according to your video. Your time and efforts are appreciated.
Did you remove the ejector pin from the frame of the firearm before you sanded it down to remove the metal applying pressure to your rounds? I wouldn't want to sand the bottom of that component while on the frame if I could somehow mess up my firearm. Thanks for the post.
I have a ZC#### that needed to have the ejector pin sanded down.... it caused a failure to load every time. Now, it has no issues.

I noticed you are working with a ZA####. I just bought a brand new ZD#### and am wondering how much of this video still applies?
Great video, would love to see an update.
