aww i saw tool live now i wanna see apc! i wonder how they did that shadow thing... he run around all over the place or they used some kinda mirror stuffs?
@ShadyRonin This Will Destroy You are........ok. Nothing more. Very derivitive stuff and the production is quite poor. A really exciting 'post rock' band to check out are Jakob from New Zealand. Don't take that wrong :)
@INeedEnemies haha, I know Jakob and like them, but I feel that they are really only "ok". This Will Destroy You is much stronger and more of a grower. The more you listen, I found the more you'll like them. S/T album especially. And their new stuff is absolutely insane. Check out Black Dunes
@ShadyRonin I'm familiar with black dunes, as I am with most of their material. I always give a band a thorough listen before making a judgment. As for Jakob being ok, can I remind you that we are posting on an APC video and who should be supporting TOOL in Australia very soon? Oh that's right-Jakob. Do you really think TOOL would have an ok support act? I doubt This Will Destroy You would ever be invited to such an occasion. As arrogant as it sounds, I just think I'm more tasteful than you.
@INeedEnemies hahahahaha you just lost all credibility with that last sentence. Taste is entirely subjective, and yes, that was arrogant and completely pointless to tell me. And just for your information, TWDY opened and toured with Deftones, so don't even start with the whole "oh this band's better because they tour with big bands" act because TWDY has played with great bands and will continue to as well. And also their S/T album was recorded with John Congleton. AKA great production value.
being a HUGE fanatic of both APC and Tool, i have to say they both have this strange, but absolutely -almost magical- vibe i feel from both. There's just something i feel when i listen to their music, that NO other band has ever, or will ever.
I saw Apc in hershey pa in 2003. its was in an 18,000 seater arena......2000 people showed up.......and it was the best show i'd ever seen......they went all out......someone filmed the whole show which is on the youtubes somewhere.
APC is getting ready to announce new tour dates. That's the word on the web!! I encourage everyone to go and see this probably once in a lifetime experience!
By far the best live band i've seen and i've seen alot of metal shows! and when i say "best live band" is because they put on the best show and sound perfect, so concentrated they don't fuck around with all the bullshit or drunken rambling they mean business!
@tjv3487 I heard APC is going to make a few new songs, not many but a few. Maybe there will be like one more tour. How fucking awesome would that be?!
@V4L0r Rolling Stones did a interview with MJK and said that APC is working on a new album its just coming along verrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyy ssllllooooowwwllyyyy.
Sigh and slowly sounds right too though. Maynard always makes things sound different. IE: A Stranger - Move away, you fucking tornado. Sounds like tomato.
For some reason I always regarded this as APC's 'masterpiece'. I suppose it's just a personal thing. This song really excited me when I saw them in Indy.
I'll agree. I saw them probably a week after this show in Louisville Ky and it was incredible. I definitely started looking at music and how it was presented in a much different way after this concert. I started seeing the division between entertainers and artists. Great band, would love to see them again all though I doubt that will happen. I am glad I got to see them once though.
When I first heard it on the album, it didn't blow me away. I saw them live in Tacoma several years back and they opened with this song. I think it's one of my favorites of all time now.
We saw them in San Francisco in 04 and it was awesome! They opened with this one too. Its my favorite song of all time by APC. I was sooo high! This was my favorite song to do opiates to. Not anymore. IM clean! PRAISE JESUS!
this song doesnt get a lot of credit i ofcourse love it, but after seeing this live makes it that much better. I wish i could have seen them one time...I hope i can see them one day
Well I can't speak for every gig but I saw them on this tour, as I recall he was behind the sheet for vanishing which was the opener then at an appropriate point in the next song or two it suddenly fell away and stayed down for the rest of the show. That's how I remember it anyway.
This was probably my favourite song of the show, so good live.
I think the lyric is 'Vanishing like a cyan Sunday' ..And the word is soleil that translates as sun. So a cyan(blueish-green) sun doesn't make much sense.
But that's just my opinion, I have yet to see any official lyrics.
yes i miss the L sorry.. (my english is not to good, sorry again)... i saw alot of lyrics and say: sunday.. maybe you are rigth.. but i like more soleil.. i like more that image.. a cyan sun.. its but a cyan sunday its beatifull too..
in other lyrics say:soleil or vanishing like a sigh and slowly disappear.. so i dont know.
Then keep it soleil, it doesn't matter what the lyric says, it's much more important that it impacts you on a personal level. That's the beauty of music, you can interpret it any way you want to!
What happened to the really cool version that filled the frame with Maynard's silhouette? This is different than that one...the sound quality is worse too...
love it
