i wanted to ask, would you say your technique makes the star more firm? becuz i see that you use more steps than what other people usually do. sometimes my stars come out a little flat or uneven.
@RabbityHop thx i figured that out from another vid or something from google i forget but i got the star i needed for my halloween costume and i did it in 1 try it was frustrating doing it i felt like i was doing it wrong and it took some time
If you live in san diego, the store to get the strips at is: Sari-Sari 99 cent store in the grove Plaza on Plaza Blvd next to Chow King I hope this helps!!!!!!
dude!!! seriously im one of ur best friends so i can honestly tell u... MOVE UR HAND!!! after a while i can't see the star any more and i got mad and threw it at the wall :( grr and it ripped and doesn't even look like a star :(
When I first started, the stars turned out very very odd looking. It took me some time to get the shape right. Practice makes perfect! Don't give up! ^_^
i really need to find them since im making an astronomy project at school and i need to find those strips to make stars. and also im working on making a bottle full of those stars for my teacher lol Please reply back~ Neji123idiot
i love the paper you use because they're more colorful than what i see here in well, my hometown and where im living right now... all those have are like love messages
Those are the best stars i've seen so far! Thanks for posting! But, can someone tell me where to buy those kinds of paper? Can you buy them at Hobby Lobby?
no but what i do since i can't find them anywhere either..i go at hobby lobby and buy origami paper and cut it up into strips and make stars with them...plus the origami paper is preety when the finished star is done ^_^
dude. just use regular paper. they're so small it doesn't matter if you use fancy paper. buy normal A4 (or whatever) paper in different colors and use that.
Vinagurl, yours are definitely the neatest, 'plumpest' stars on Youtube. I'm just waiting for my paper strips to arrive, then I'll fold them like you!
Is there a particular reason you thread the long bit of paper through the star in the beginning [and before folding the last bit in at the end]? I've always just wrapped it around and only tucked it in at the very end. Does it change the results at all?
The treading in the beginning is just something I'm use to doing, but you can just wrap it around like you said. Both ways work and it doesn't make much of a difference. However, when you fold in the last bits at the end, it secures the star and prevents it from undoing itself.
when i use regular printing paper and start with pinching the sides one side goes to the inside the other get puffy its so weird gonna buy good paper soon
yayy! i bought some paper yesterday (its shiny!!) and its alot harder the first time then i would have thought... but i am glad i watched this because i have been skipping a step
its like a really big place with like all these korean stores. and i went to the one with all these cute pencils and all cute little asian things, and bought like 3 small packages then like a huge one with like 1,500 strips. : ) i finally got it and have a couple hundred done: )
that's cool thanks! I don't have pretty paper like you so I have to use used up magazines. Sometimes I screw up and one side is squished and the other side is puffy.
You could always go to a craft store and buy some decorative paper and cut it to size. Or you could use wrapping paper (gift wrap) and cut those to size. Just about any type of paper works. Use your imagination! ^^
why??? Well the person who made it decided to make it shiny...lol it's just the type of paper, they use different material and the light reflects it and it makes it shiny. (same with the scratch paper)
The top floor. When you get there, in the middle should be the jewelry center and on either side (right or left) there are stores that sell them. I don't remember the name of the store, but when you see it, you know right away (just look inside)
that's the one my cousin goes to!!! they didn't have good star paper when i went there though... so i asked my cousin (who lives near there) to get me some. i don't live near any place that has any star paper.
