@xxXxSCEMOxXxx thats because it is vintage. all of the white binding tuning keys or other plastic parts always get a yellowish tint on them after many years.

@AlexWerkmeister712 you moron Epiphone is made by Gibson. So an epiphone is just a cheaper version of the Gibson guitar you just said was a piece of shit! Squire really? you just said that the bottom of the barrel of guitars is better than a 60's erra Gibson Les Paul. Either you are saying sarcastic reatrd bullshit to get a reaction out of people or you really are an idiot.
@cw092085 Epiphone is a separate company owned, but not made by Gibson. Epiphone guitars are made in Asia (mostly in China) whereas Gibson products are made in the USA.
man,this old alchoalic drunk as fuck guy busted out a 1958 Gibson "Black Beauty" I dont know if that was an actual name for it,but it was bad ass.you could just tell it was old as hell.I really really really really wanted to let him get super drunk,sneak in his house and steal that guitar!!!! but that would be a SUPER felony,(he said $40,000 but i dont think he would know)anything over $300 is a felony in illinois,so ill pass.
i really truly wonder if the guitar is real because i know for a damn fact... if there was a 1960 burst anywhere near me.. it would be sucked into a hard case so fast and sealed up. i just cant believe this moron is holding it like its a 200 dollar gibson. no ones even watching him to make sure hes not doing anything? i mean guitars like that dont deserve to be touched by anyone born after like 1995
@ryandorrah Well luckily i was born in 1993 this is just and old video lol, and yes it was a bit shocking that he let me hold it! I talked to him for literally an hour before i got to hold it. I myself have owned an original 1959 gibson les paul junior, a gibson les paul studio, and an gibson sg classic. Anything is possible if you can believe you can do it.
@svtman93 im 19 and your younger than me with that many gibsons? hah i feel like the MORON. ive been playing for about a year and a half and my first guitar was an ibanez rg120 candy apple red. you can see my vids on my channel. but now after playing so long ive been looking for a new guitar to buy and i think i have the answer but im not sure. i put a prs se on layaway at guitar center and am going to pick it up soon. do you know if its worth it?
@ryandorrah it depends what style of guitar you play... but the PRS's are great guitars. Ive recorded a 4 song EP with one of them. They remind me alot of the double cut les paul juniors and lp studios for some reason. They are great guitars for the money. Im more of a gibson person but yea go for it man they are great guitars!! good luck!
@ryandorrah I'm a gibson person, but i have to say majority of the prs's i've played sound and play great, especially for their price point. Which prs se are you going to get? i really like the look and feel of the prs se santana myself.
@ryandorrah if thats wat u like men yea go for it i think a good guitar to get would be like i american strat or jazzmaster or a es335 idk thats what i like i always thought prs guitars wer tacky as heck and over priced and like idk just never liked the style or sound it reminds me of somthin like dave matthues band or somone like that would play lol
@svtman93 And yu Guitars are all 59 ? Sure , you are 19 ? Is your Dad so greatfull to buy those very expensive Guitars for you ? And btw , you said it is an 1960 Burst yes ? This is not the Holy grail , the real Holy Grail is the 59 Burst !!
@svtman93 Off course you did .... the only thing you can is to Insult me , not more ! And , a 1960 Burst is NOT the Holy Grail !! the Les Paul 59 is the Holy Grail ! Read some Books about those Guitars ...
@svtman93 - I don't know why some people think it's impossible to work for money and buy things. Some vintage stuff IS risky for value fluctuations (P90 goldtops anyone?) but some all-mahog body Gibsons are reasonable & a good bet.
People waste thousands on all kinds of stuff (new cars, vacations) but don't value musical instruments the same way. F-k yes "anything is possible" kid you said it.
PS how was the neck, very slim or fatter like a '59?
@svtman93 - Yeah me too, the slimmer neck and the change to non-fading red dye in the sunburst finish makes the 1960 often less desirable than a late 1958 / 1959.
I know a guy who has several '50's LPs from different years. Has an original Burst plus one that was converted (goldtop refinished as sunburst.)
@ryandorrah ok relax first of all he likes guitars and liked it enough to make a video he enjoys them so why do you care? Don't put an age on guitars or guitarist you are no one to make rules for anyone, also The funny thing is you said 1995 is probably because you were born in 1994 or something.
The prices for a lot of these guitars have really come down... There was a time when they were bringing some pretty stupid prices, but they have adjusted downward- some, significantly so- per real world auction results.
And that's the not the " holy grail " ..... The '59 Burst is the " Holy Grail. " Since people talk about it the most, and it most used (in the past) with guitarists like Clapton, Richards, Page etc I've seen Clapton play a Les Paul in the past several years... Very rare you see him play an LP.
@dusted04 don´t think they go up that much in value. the "EET FUK" version from 89 with the middle finger inlays and the fatter headstock are worth alot more, only 47 made or something like that, no exact number since ESP made it without Hetfield knowing, so when he found out they did they stopped since they were actually violating the contract agreement.
i am getting an identical replica made of hetfields eet fuk as we speak !
not the replica esp put out back in the day as there are some slight differences to hetfields original , so mine will be identical to his original , any money in this you think.
@MeaneThrash They also could have put a new truss rod cover on it. If the original snapped when they adjusted it or the screws warped, they would definitely put a new one on.
Thats pocket change compared to the value of Eddie van halens original frankenstrat (6 million) and jimi hendrix white woodstock strat a little over (5 million)
@MrEpicness47 Unless it SOLD there's no way in hell its worth that much. Half those people are still alive anyway. Ive had so many signed guitars they are not as valuable as you think they are.
@svtman93 agree'd the strat your thinking of is overrated as a mo fo who cares if its been signed, it hasnt contributed and sound to history, which is really the intention of a musical instrument in the first place...
@WassonasonVegeta If you're going to lie about who has signed your guitars (eddie has probably signed a whopping 50 guitars), ad least SPELL THEIR FUCKING NAMES RIGHT. "Ghetti Lee"? You serious lol?
@JgHaverty Oh ya, big deal bro. Sorry I have bigger things to do then argue about a misspelled artist, whom I see live, and not just talk about him, so Big whoop I didn't spell his name right. Bye.
@svtman93 it was sold and theres only 8. Besides, getting an autograph from Clapton, Gilmour, Kirk ect. is gonna be pretty hard. You may have a lot of signed guitars, but they may not be famous.
@svtman93 actualy MrEpicness47 was right , that strat was part of charity , and was sold for 2 700 000 , you may have a signed guitar but do you have a guitar that is signed by 21 people???
@MrEpicness47 what something is worth and what something costs are 2 different things.. if i had that kinda doe i wouldnt buy it. svtman93 is right about half those ppl being alive also.
@bighornpt no, he's not just holding a piece of timber. He's holding a guitar. a guitar has soul. it has a heart, and history. all guitars have history. whether they were just made, or 50 years old. they all have history.
to much >.> ive played one, my friends grandpa owns one and its his "baby" i have a $130 Epiphone and with some new pickups and chunky strings, i made it sound the same, and better! people gotta work on cheap guitars to get a $3245232342462464632452 guitar sound ;) but none the less! amazing guitar xD
I bought my 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Tobacco Sunburst) with original case in mint condition from the original owner through an ad in the paper for $375. I'm happy with that.
Ibanez is used by many famous musicians across the globe. I particularly enjoy their quality and value and more importantly their versatility in sound. You don't see very many metal musicians using a les paul. Furthermore you do see Ibanez in almost every style of music. I don't work for Ibanez but to casually discard them as crap is both narrowminded and foolish. The only bad thing I can say about Ibanez is that they don't stand the test of time. They break down after about 10 yrs
@ShogaNinja Not to interupt up what a peasant conversation you and your buddy pokagbamo1 are having but wouldn't breaking down after ten years imply that they have POOR quality and value? Just curious of what you meant by quality and value.
I didn't say they were heirloom guitars. As an electric guitarist I wouldn't play a guitar for a decade anyway. By then the frets would be worn out on ANY guitar in this world and require an expensive refretting.
As a classical guitarist then yes I would want an heirloom guitar.
On a separate note I play a 1977 Fender Dreadnought that I love. The only reason it lasted this long is because some nincompoop owned it and stored in in a closet for 30 years. Thanks guy!
@MicMunk21 What you just said was great and all. That's cool you have a '77 Fender D that sat for 30 years. I'm sure you're very proud of it. But you have yet to answer my question. How does quality and value pertain to Ibanez guitars. And more-so if they break down after ten years?
Oh and I am a guitarist and I would NOT love to have that guitar. Most especially because it's basically limited to a rock/blues style, they weigh a shit ton and as such are mad uncomfortable to play on stage, their double humbucker setup limits your sound, and I prefer a double locking trem coming from a metal background and preferring not to go out of tune every 5 seconds. Who cares if I can't do a double stop with open strings.
You seem like a troll having no videos of your own
@ShogaNinja Well anybody who doesn't think thats an amazing guitar clearly doesnt appreciate the classics and has probably been playing guitar for 2-3 weeks.
Not everyone wants to have ancient technology (for reasons I stated above). And for the record I have been playing for 22 years going on 23. I also play bass, piano and drums and I'm a composer and a sound engineer. But who's counting right?
Ancient technology outlasts most modern, for that reason I love old musical equipment, the aging of instrument wood results in a better sound quality over time, its part of why instruments tend to retain their value, I'm sure you know that though, being a sound engineer and all, to clearify I'm not trolling you, but mierely putting my 2 cents in, because truthfully, that "ancient technology" is still state of the art.
I agree 100% however I'm not sure that someone playing it who's famous makes it that much more valuable and furthermore at some point a $500 Ibanez is cheaper and more versatile in sound quality. That's all I'm saying. Thanks for comment.
No problem, I do get your point as well, I'm not an ignorant musician like many (I don't listen to brand names, I listen to my ears) I just want to buy a guitar once and get a lifetime of enjoyment out of it, not to mention great sound quality lifelong, your point is true, I've experienced it with Fender Squire Strats, some sound just as good as their American made counterparts,but I'd not buy this Paul either, could get a reissue just as good if not better, SGs are my style anyway.
Well unfortunately Ibanez is not an heirloom guitar but they ARE disposable heroes for cheap. About Squires I never saw one that could stay in tune through an entire song let alone an entire set. If you want an heirloom buy a martin. especially one that has a low production rate. That's where the money will be. They age with time. I got a 1977 Fender acoustic that was not uber when it came out but now that it's aged it's AWESOME. win.
Hell yeah man, I play AC/DC songs too, and some of my own little scores have the Angus vibe (to me there's no other sound suited :P)
I agree they are, I have played my friend's Ibenez and it was pretty damn good, not for my genre but good overall, new squires are tune funny, but all those that were good to me were older, my first guitar (a vintage squire) plays like my American Stratocaster, alot of my musician friends who play it think the same.wish you could play her, you'd see :)
hmm well when I said that I was talking about the Squier starter guitars for like 200 bucks or less lol. those things are JUNK. Bullet I think they are called?
I know what you meant :P its just I noticed the squires made today aren't as good as the vintage squires and at the same time some of those vintage squires play as well as the real deal, and whaaa? my squire is one of the most amazing guitars I've ever owned, its up there with my real Stratocaster and my SG :D
@mrflip321go apparently jimmy page has quite a collection, and according to the seller, jimmy has a VAST collection of Gibsons including les pauls, sg's and even flying v's. The seller is a friend of is :)
@svtman93 haven't seen 'em on Jimmy's website.... It seems like he would show them if he had them. He Does have quite a collection, but he doesn't have all that. And he's not dead, he's not going to give away one of his babies. Oh and yeah, mrflip321go is right, he never had a 1960 and both his Les Pauls had shaved necks, and frets (so says a roadie). Besides his #2 has the pickup select, and he favours his "#1", so he wouldn't sell it or anything. Just saying....
The world's most expensive guitar? Hahaha, hardly.. I was at Gruhns Guitars in Nashville, TN a month ago and they had a 59 burst for $189,000 and that was a good deal! Got to play that baby too. This video was posted a few years ago when the market was up. Not only that, but the most expensive guitar is probably the woodstock hendrix strat or something like that, I'm almost willing to bet my first born it isn't a historically insignificant Gibson, and definitely not that one.
Looks like a honeyburst to me

The most expensive guitar in the world was the strat that 21 legends signed such as Sting, Page,Slash,Clapton etc for 2,7000,000
MrEpicness47 5 months ago 9
@MrEpicness47 Unless it SOLD there's no way in hell its worth that much. Half those people are still alive anyway. Ive had so many signed guitars they are not as valuable as you think they are.
svtman93 5 months ago 6
@svtman93 Yeah it was sold for a Tsunami Relief charity couple years ago.
MrEpicness47 5 months ago
@svtman93 It actually was worth that much, it was for Tsunami aid and sold for $2.7 Million
Jdr3009 5 months ago
@svtman93
It DID sell....at auction.
all proceeds went to some charity relief fund.

@svtman93
if someone pay 2,7 than it is worth that price for him.
Would you pay 165,000.00?? i would not pay that much! so it is not worth that price for me!
everything is subjective my friend
1Guug 3 months ago
@svtman93 agree'd the strat your thinking of is overrated as a mo fo who cares if its been signed, it hasnt contributed and sound to history, which is really the intention of a musical instrument in the first place...
Chrisalchin 3 months ago
@svtman93 Mines signed by Van Halen, a Mic. signed by Dio, and a Bass signed By Ghetti Lee. Not really, thanks for reading.
WassonasonVegeta 2 months ago
@WassonasonVegeta If you're going to lie about who has signed your guitars (eddie has probably signed a whopping 50 guitars), ad least SPELL THEIR FUCKING NAMES RIGHT. "Ghetti Lee"? You serious lol?

@svtman93 it was sold and theres only 8. Besides, getting an autograph from Clapton, Gilmour, Kirk ect. is gonna be pretty hard. You may have a lot of signed guitars, but they may not be famous.
AbusedDaily 2 months ago
@svtman93 yes , it was sold at a charity aution for 2.8 million for the 2004 tsunami disaster
BigDylThePickle 2 months ago
@svtman93 actualy MrEpicness47 was right , that strat was part of charity , and was sold for 2 700 000 , you may have a signed guitar but do you have a guitar that is signed by 21 people???
McTvrdi 2 months ago
@svtman93 it was at a high roller charity auction, people just wanted to bid it really high to help poor people

PlatinumSkullz 6 months ago
Sorry bro, but it's the 1959 burst that's the holy grail. The 1960 is great, but the 59s go for approx.$400,000, while the 60s are $200,000 tops.

Brand new Ibanez, 300-1000 dollars. Save the money :)
ShogaNinja 10 months ago
@ShogaNinja Ibanez sounds like crap and any guitarist in the world would love to have that guitar. You can never replace a genuine Les Paul.
pokagbamo1 9 months ago
@pokagbamo1
ShogaNinja 9 months ago
@ShogaNinja Not to interupt up what a peasant conversation you and your buddy pokagbamo1 are having but wouldn't breaking down after ten years imply that they have POOR quality and value? Just curious of what you meant by quality and value.
MicMunk21 9 months ago
@MicMunk21
Thanks guy!
ShogaNinja 8 months ago
@MicMunk21 What you just said was great and all. That's cool you have a '77 Fender D that sat for 30 years. I'm sure you're very proud of it. But you have yet to answer my question. How does quality and value pertain to Ibanez guitars. And more-so if they break down after ten years?
MicMunk21 8 months ago
@pokagbamo1
You seem like a troll having no videos of your own
ShogaNinja 9 months ago
@ShogaNinja Well anybody who doesn't think thats an amazing guitar clearly doesnt appreciate the classics and has probably been playing guitar for 2-3 weeks.
pokagbamo1 9 months ago
@pokagbamo1
Not everyone wants to have ancient technology (for reasons I stated above). And for the record I have been playing for 22 years going on 23. I also play bass, piano and drums and I'm a composer and a sound engineer. But who's counting right?
Why are you trolling me? Are you hungry?
ShogaNinja 9 months ago
@ShogaNinja
Ancient technology outlasts most modern, for that reason I love old musical equipment, the aging of instrument wood results in a better sound quality over time, its part of why instruments tend to retain their value, I'm sure you know that though, being a sound engineer and all, to clearify I'm not trolling you, but mierely putting my 2 cents in, because truthfully, that "ancient technology" is still state of the art.
assymcgee1 6 months ago
@assymcgee1
I agree 100% however I'm not sure that someone playing it who's famous makes it that much more valuable and furthermore at some point a $500 Ibanez is cheaper and more versatile in sound quality. That's all I'm saying. Thanks for comment.
ShogaNinja 6 months ago
@ShogaNinja
No problem, I do get your point as well, I'm not an ignorant musician like many (I don't listen to brand names, I listen to my ears) I just want to buy a guitar once and get a lifetime of enjoyment out of it, not to mention great sound quality lifelong, your point is true, I've experienced it with Fender Squire Strats, some sound just as good as their American made counterparts,but I'd not buy this Paul either, could get a reissue just as good if not better, SGs are my style anyway.
assymcgee1 6 months ago
@assymcgee1
AC/DC style. nice.
I got a 1977 Fender acoustic that was not uber when it came out but now that it's aged it's AWESOME. win.
ShogaNinja 6 months ago
@ShogaNinja
Hell yeah man, I play AC/DC songs too, and some of my own little scores have the Angus vibe (to me there's no other sound suited :P)
I agree they are, I have played my friend's Ibenez and it was pretty damn good, not for my genre but good overall, new squires are tune funny, but all those that were good to me were older, my first guitar (a vintage squire) plays like my American Stratocaster, alot of my musician friends who play it think the same.wish you could play her, you'd see :)
assymcgee1 6 months ago
@assymcgee1
hmm well when I said that I was talking about the Squier starter guitars for like 200 bucks or less lol. those things are JUNK. Bullet I think they are called?
ShogaNinja 6 months ago
@ShogaNinja
I know what you meant :P its just I noticed the squires made today aren't as good as the vintage squires and at the same time some of those vintage squires play as well as the real deal, and whaaa? my squire is one of the most amazing guitars I've ever owned, its up there with my real Stratocaster and my SG :D
assymcgee1 6 months ago
dosent make any sense because jimmy page shaved the neck down on both of his bursts so he couldnt tell if they were 58s or 59s. he never had a 1960
mrflip321go 10 months ago
@mrflip321go apparently jimmy page has quite a collection, and according to the seller, jimmy has a VAST collection of Gibsons including les pauls, sg's and even flying v's. The seller is a friend of is :)
svtman93 10 months ago 3
@svtman93 haven't seen 'em on Jimmy's website.... It seems like he would show them if he had them. He Does have quite a collection, but he doesn't have all that. And he's not dead, he's not going to give away one of his babies. Oh and yeah, mrflip321go is right, he never had a 1960 and both his Les Pauls had shaved necks, and frets (so says a roadie). Besides his #2 has the pickup select, and he favours his "#1", so he wouldn't sell it or anything. Just saying....

ghosthead2008 10 months ago
The world's most expensive guitar? Hahaha, hardly.. I was at Gruhns Guitars in Nashville, TN a month ago and they had a 59 burst for $189,000 and that was a good deal! Got to play that baby too. This video was posted a few years ago when the market was up. Not only that, but the most expensive guitar is probably the woodstock hendrix strat or something like that, I'm almost willing to bet my first born it isn't a historically insignificant Gibson, and definitely not that one.
