To b honest Im kinda bored of Zombies now, they're in everything games, tv series and too many movies, I honestly cant see anything original or even different that this movie is gonna bring to this already tired genre. Why not make a Zombie film kinda in the style of that movie Let the Right One in. Where the film only focuses on the "Zombie," showing how they're just trying to survive, following them as they walk from place to place, slightly remembering things they used to do.

@devol264 i understand your point of view. i love such movie as well and 28 months later is a great example. world war Z going to be great. but the assumption is that a virus will most likely kill most of humanity so there will be no army. the REAL reason for most movies to follow survivors is due to a limit of budget, easier to product and finance it. our movie follow survivors and is a low budget movie, yet is one of the most impressive production from israel

I like the fact that they have made zombies move faster compared to the old zombie movies. Makes it more intense zombies are scary yea lol I'm a chicken when it comes to that type of horror movie, but I love them like crazy. @SmoothMoose13 Well, -geek mode initiated- to me, when a person is first bitten, their bodies aren't fully decade yet and therefore can run. That's why (some) newer zombie movies have gotten into the whole "Walker" and "Runner" zombie types. Movie Example: Zombie Apocalypse.

@psionic99 i think you misunderstood something, there are many type of zombies, (as far as i concern) one of em is "walker" which is the ordinary zombies, they completely rotten and move slowly, and onether one is call "the infected" which is an full size zombies, they can move pretty fast and they can run...

Read World War Z. Good book about zombies and how things happen. Of course it isn't real, but it is written in the view of different people who went through a virus/zombie outbreak. It's awesome.

If a zombie problem were to occur (and it totally could) it wouldnt turn out like the movies. I mean, that's why they always start these movies when you're well into the apocolypse, because we would have that shit in check real quick. @digitalmckracken Well you are somewhat right except for a few things. In reality the zombies would not be undead thats impossible and people who do believe that watch to much movies. In reality it would be a mutated Strain of the super-rabies virus (there is a super-rabies virus though no humans have caught it yet. They have a sample in my friends university and they are studying it) this super-rabies strain mutates constantly week after week.
@RedAgent2020 So there is a chance we could get something like quarantine or 28 days later zombies (except they would actually eat people unlike rage zombies). the people infected with this strain would be able to sprint and ignore/not feel pain. These zombies are still living people as in they breath and have a beating heart but they have almost no intelligence and zero social skills, maybe little memory of their normal life but they will most likely not understand it.

What I would like to know is does this movie keep the formula that mainstream Hollywood is ever so keen on keeping?. Meaning? that the female characters are ten times stronger mentally and sometimes physically than the male characters. I for one am sick and tired of seeing alpha female characters dominate the horror genre. I mean anyone who's seen enough horror will tell you that most movies have the women survive and the men die off in on way or another. Too dull, stale, and predictable that.

For the past 30 years or so it's been men and women going into the situation and mostly women coming out. Women are liberated to no end in horror movies and the men are continously repressed in horror movies. THE DEAD is a movie that changes that. It's along the same lines as The Thing in the type of cast it uses. And it's all the better for it!. It's a change to the norm.

If a zombie problem were to occur (and it totally could) it wouldnt turn out like the movies. I mean, that's why they always start these movies when you're well into the apocolypse, because we would have that shit in check real quick. Zombies are dumb and have no sense of self preservation, all they do is feed. There would never be a full outbreak like the films depict.

In reality it would be a mutated Strain of the super-rabies virus (there is a super-rabies virus though no humans have caught it yet. They have a sample in my friends university and they are studying it) this super-rabies strain mutates constantly week after week.

@RedAgent2020 So there is a chance we could get something like quarantine or 28 days later zombies (except they would actually eat people unlike rage zombies). the people infected with this strain would be able to sprint and ignore/not feel pain. These zombies are still living people as in they breath and have a beating heart but they have almost no intelligence and zero social skills, maybe little memory of their normal life but they will most likely not understand it.

What I would like to know is does this movie keep the formula that mainstream Hollywood is ever so keen on keeping?. Meaning? that the female characters are ten times stronger mentally and sometimes physically than the male characters. I for one am sick and tired of seeing alpha female characters dominate the horror genre. I mean anyone who's seen enough horror will tell you that most movies have the women survive and the men die off in on way or another. Too dull, stale, and predictable that.

For the past 30 years or so it's been men and women going into the situation and mostly women coming out. Women are liberated to no end in horror movies and the men are continously repressed in horror movies. THE DEAD is a movie that changes that. It's along the same lines as The Thing in the type of cast it uses. And it's all the better for it!. It's a change to the norm.
