  • Hey great playing..I have few question about recording with DI box.. My logic: Guitar>Di box>computer? Or how do you record? Do you need any special sound card in your computer? Can you play through amp too? Do you need any special jack's to plug everything to computer? Thank you very much :)

  • may cliff bless you

  • very cool sir. very cool

  • dude either your camera is fucking with my eyes or you got some naste toes. lol! but you can shred taht bass so who gives a shit right?

  • you're little improvisations on the chorus kicks ass man

  • thought i was watching/listening to cliff for a spit sec. Well done dude.

  • Hey, why are you a t-shirt of a brazilian tv channel? oO

  • this is prolly one of my top favorite songs to play on bass...great cover bud

  • your tone is off the hook, very nice job man

  • i like how the other bases are just lying about in the background

  • I now know the definition of an ear orgasm.

  • Are you brazilian? In your shirt, it has: "Band - Prazer em ver."

  • would you mind making some tutorials

  • sound great man but........I prefer the 4th string bass like cliff, steve harris, billy sheehan and others :)

  • What kind of amp are you running through good sir??

  • @Metalfie66 - Not using an amp. Just plugged straight into a DI box.

  • @GBagley Wow, I need a new bass then because Running DI makes mine sound so bad XD I'm planning on getting a Warwick Corvette because I absolutely love the pickups. I also have a MXR M-80 Bass Diver DI, Hopefully it'll sound as half as good as your tone does!

  • @GBagley - What is a DI box? i play to and would like to put some tracks on my computer but i have nooo idea what to use. Ive been playing for awhile but i have nooo idea about the computer thech to use for the computer.

  • WOW men!!! Cliff would be very very proud of youuu!!!!!

It was an honor to watch this video.

  • This is great. Hey man, I've been playing for 5 years, but the last year has been a bitch. Freshman Honors courses have kept me from my playing. Any tips on the recurring post-chorus bass line/pre-verse beginning guitar riff, timing wise.

  • Lol, Band t-shirt... brazil?

  • @omnipotent1995 - (7th fret is an E, octave up from the open E), I dunno, I've always played it like that. Sounds cooler.

  • @GBagley Yeah Ive noticed I like to switch up/down an octave of the note, to make things interesting. Most of the time it works.

  • you should form a band and you will be the lead guitar and bass

  • The harmony part is just amazing + with you on bass it's heaven,

who came up with this riff, james or cliff?

  • @miguelrgraca mustaine

  • @miguelrgraca Dave.

  • @johnthegreek178 if your refering to after 2:15 dave didnt write that little section james added that in

  • @956crazyman19 Yup I know, James added that section (which imo is what makes this song better than The Mechanix but let's not start a figt, it's just an opinion) and then Kirk addad the melodic solo etc.

  • Do you learn this by hearing?

    its cool

  • de todos es el mejor cover de bajo ke he visto de este tema... claro xcluyendo los arreglos ke le has hecho xD ... bien tio

  • Band, prazer em ver! e ouvir voce!

  • your t-shirt is from a regional tv from Brazil, haha, i have one like that.

  • nice feet...

  • You have talent man. Cliff would be proud.

  • what kinda bass is that?

  • @B3LTRAN89 Look in the description ^^^

  • You definitely could have nailed those solos :}

  • I Loved it.

  • is that tape across the strings?

  • Fucking Horribles Feets

  • voce e brasileiro?

  • Good

  • good bass, u can probably play that with your nice toe too

  • mierdaaaaaaaaaaa, suenas excelente!!! el bajo es hermoso

  • @undergirl0714 Woah, what? Mechanix is a much better song, and its the original. And before someone says Mechanix was 1985 and Horsemen 1983, thats the releases. Mechanix is 1981-82 while horsemen, being a remake of it, was in 1983, in the recording studio. (I just hope I didnt start a Megadeth/Metallica war though.)

  • Sorry if your actually kinda a metallica only dude, but you need to play the megadeth version, Mechanix, which is almost identical if it wasnt for the added on middle section in four horsemen, and much faster.

  • I can't tell, do you use all four fingers during the galloping verse?

  • @dc17commando - Nope, just 3.

  • @GBagley Troll =.=

  • @GBagley He's just beginner :3

  • i watch you and realise how bad at bass i am.

  • Gr8 job mate i ve played this just right now ! i think this one of songs which must be played ! \m/

  • 2:40 is such a bad ass riff!! Nice playing too.

  • I wonder what that Ken Lawrence did cost.

    :)

  • This is epic!

Have you ever thought of doing Iron Maiden?

Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) si a good song to learn. :-)

  • Funny with all the jazz influences, but still pretty good

  • Pure perfection.

  • Omg, Cliff is still alive!

  • honesly the most jesus bass player ever i have never heard a bass player as amazing as you

  • Best Horsemen cover on youtube IMO

  • man, this is pure sick!!! ur soooooo goooooooodddd :)

  • niceeee bassss man!!!!

  • So what is your opinion of the DR Hi beams?

I broke my E string before my gig last night and I'm debating what to string up with next.

I play almost/sorta a metallica style bass line on ambient space music on and Rickenbacker 4001

  • @RonPaulMountainBiker - They used to be my favorite strings. I still think they're some of the best for Metal/Rock style playing. I've since switched to TI Jazz Rounds and love them, but I'm doing less heavy playing now.

  • @GBagley

I love the HiBeams too. This is a 35 inch scale, right? Which gauges did you use?

  • @ooooJESUSoooo - Yep, 35" scale. I don't remember now, but I would guess they were medium gauge. I use TI Jazz Rounds now, which are super light.

  • @GBagley

But this are nickelwounds and are not so aggressive?

I love this Crisp from fresh HiBeams, the feeling, the lightness to bend, the pop-sound... so why have you changed to tomastik infeld jazz rounds?

  • @ooooJESUSoooo - I just like their tone/feel better. The HiBeams are better for Metal, but I'm not really a Metal player primarily.

  • @GBagley why you are using a band news t-shirt?

  • one of the best bass covers i have seen

  • how many year you have men ?

  • @huguito11muse - been playing over 10 years. This video is almost 3 years old now!

  • @huguito11muse rofl, that's a gay question

  • great coordination.... i could only play it with a pick

  • thats fucking amazing.... i tried a 5 string bass, but 4 string is much easier and.... hmmmm... i don't need a 5 string- bass for metalcore

  • @2whcompen im on i 5 string ibanez sdgr sr305.. its a really nice and thin neck so the add on of the fifth string is good for when i need it and isnt in the way when i dont =D

  • I just wondered, How long have you been playing?

Cause you are one really amazing bass player!

  • @tvrstl he said 10 years =D

  • that random harmonic was epic haha

  • May I ask you mate, do you use 3 fingers, or do you just mute with, Im a bassist as well, havent played as many years as you have problably, well i havent even played my first year(in 8 month) Just wanted to know if you prefer playing with 3 fingers other than 2 and ehm like mute stuff with the third finger for that sake, and if you have any tips feel free to say it xD

  • Dude you are a god at these things. How do you manage those tones out of your bass? Is it the preamp?

  • the four horsemen of the end live in chuck norris' ball sack

  • bof....

  • damn bra.. awesome fuckin job!

  • Dude youre amazing...start a band...

  • Fuck ! Just Awesome !

  • dude, ur amazing. only cliff could outdo you. if metallica saw ur vids theyd kick out robert and bring you into it.

  • In no offence to Mr. Bagley, but put Robert in the same situation, with the same guitar he would prolly play it at least as good.

  • good point

  • fucking amazing dude. im jealous. xD

  • man!! cliff would be proud!! how long have u been playing??

  • Over 10 years now.

  • Comment removed

  • @GBagley nice, im only on my first year of real playing and actually trying

  • he doesen't use amp, if i'm right

  • Yep, not using an amp.

  • @GBagley how do you record then

  • I generally record audio direct. Through an MBox2.

  • is that Cliff???

    Sounds sick dude!

  • 1:32 to 1:42

    that was great man!

the slide and the harmonic in this part was totally good!

  • cliff would be proud

  • totally agree

    ;)

  • Very good :)

  • nice!

  • do you have any tip or advice for cover a song without tabs?

  • Just listen closely and start playing along! Take it slow and start with something easier to hear. It takes a lot of work and time to build up your ear training to point where you can really learn and play by ear.

  • how did you get into playing bass?

  • Long story short....Metallica.

  • @GBagley

    care to tell the story?

  • dude. my hatred for basses with extra strings just got set aside for one of the few times in my life. i think i just came. that is the best cover of anything and everything ever.

  • la re batis en algunos tiros!

no se kien te pensas q sos!

  • dayum i love your version of the melodic part in the middle. you almost never hear that part covered just like cliff but its even rarer to hear someone write a bassline that is just as melodic and original! 5 stars for you my friend... (and i bet you dont use tabs ;)

  • due kick ass! u even pick like cliff man dats awesome

  • hey can you please i am begging you can you send me tabs, i have been looking for so long please!

    awsome cover by the way!

  • I don't use tabs.

  • well then you must be the best bassist in the worldcause all those covers are the best covers on youtube!

  • dude they're easy to find.. but try learning yourself its not that hard..

  • dude...your probably the best youtube bass player...... one questino what amplifier your using??

  • Not using an amp here. Just plugged in direct.

  • in the end i thought just: WOW. these 7 minutes were like a dream Oo

  • give an op on mine :)

  • Hjertis: I agree :D

  • Dude, the best bass cover i've ever heard... EPIC!

  • thank you for bringing cliff back

  • The best bassist in YouTube

  • haha yo already have done

    sorry xD

  • Great tone! How do you get it? Is it only the bass?

  • The bass, the fingers, the strings, the air....everything plays a part in the tone!

  • Well done man! Respect!

  • Why no solos?

  • I did this video before I starting throwing in all the guitar solos in my vids.

  • It would be awesome if you could redo this like some of the others in higher quality and with the solos added in! :-)

  • when i grow up i want to be like you =D

  • Dude, Ive seen most of your Video's.

    You are one insane bassist!

And seeing youve played many Metallica songs, Its just amazing. Great Job Dude!

  • ive watched this video like 5 days ina row haha super sick ass cover

  • Your a fucking moron.

  • Kickass! Keep rockin' man!

  • you should try playing Anesthesia pulling teeth

  • YES!!!!!!!

Do you have the distortion to do it?

  • I don't have any distortion.

  • Could you get it? It would be real cool to see you play like Cliff with the effects.

  • I've seen now a few videos from your bass hability, man you play aweseome! I used to be a MetallicA fan from hell haha, then I remember perfectly Cliffs parts and when I listened you I heard all of them! Even the parts Jason never played alive in this song, by example! Hey you must play more and more complex songs and you'll be a bass master, best wishes dude!

  • Color my ass thoroughly kicked! Fantastic playing.

  • What can you say! Awesome!!

  • if you played with a pick i might accuse you of bieng Newsted.I hope you take that as a compliment it was meant to be

  • I do play with a pick occasionally (check out my 'Turn the Page' video), and Newsted is one of my biggest influences! So...thanks :)

  • omg u r so good i love u thank u for being a good bass player u r soo good on that bass guitar u should play harmoinca too i bet ud be better at that tho but u r good at bass real good

  • Hey man! I love your videos, and I'm a bassist too.

But look, you're wearing the T-shirt of the Band TV from Brazil! hahaha Thats great, im brazilian.

    Cheers.

  • does this song have some kind of bass solo? i dont hear it but one guy in youtube said that in four horseman has a bass solo. i dont hear it but tell me if there is :). thx

  • it is hard to call it a bass solo, but there is one at the start of the first guitar solo.

you can hear it in this vid around 3.50.

it is not a solo anyway.

  • Yeah. It's not a 'solo', but it's a cool bass part in that section that goes up high.

  • very nice!! well done

  • I don't understand.. Your not using an amp? Are you playing unplugged? Or into your cpu?

  • He said he's not using an amp, and no way its unplugged, so guess yourself. :P hes connected right into the computer

  • Yeah, I'm plugged directly into my computer.

  • How old are ya?

  • I'm 22, though this video is exactly two years old today!

  • its not hard 4 me to play this

  • Good for you.
