  • Don't forget that this is Cameron MacIntosh.... it's very dificult for a school orchestra and although I'm definately with everybody on that it wasn't fantastic I do think they deserve a los more credit. The vocals and the acting are also excellent. We're talking high school here so really thumbs up for everybody!!! Well done!

  • Singing was great. Orchestra not so great.

  • i love the singers. kim is so good & chris too (and cute lol).

but ahhh the orchestra - it's distracting me (i wonder if my band sounded like this when we played it) >.<

  • YOU GUYS ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK ... .I´M SERIOUS!!!!

  • His falsetto is beautiful! I wasn't expecting that. And the Kim is amazing as usual.

  • Kim is a lot better than Chris, but they're both better than the orchestra.

  • his last note was a bit startling but holy lord i want them both :-X

  • aaahhhh, this is so good. esp for a high school

  • waaaaahhhh... i want to give an electronic tuner to the violin players... wahhhhh... i don't hear the sax... but the actors are really good...

  • Where's the sax player?! How disappointing. :( We did this show at my school this spring and I played those solos on stage. It... Makes the song. Not like that's selfish or anything. ;) But really. They took violins that can't tune. Why not take a mediocre sax? Or have someone else play the melody?

  • Sometimes I forget that this Kim isn't Lea Salonga when I'm just listening to the song without seeing the video.

  • it look likes a real musical and not like a high school musical!!!!

    it's amazing!!

  • the violins are also playing with a high-octave oboe and clarinet...awkward instrument grouping. also, keep in mind that the musicians play nearly constantly, and it requires an impressive amount of endurance

  • I can't believve this is a high school play either - incredible!!!

  • the performances are beautiful but the violins are awful. i just want to shout at them to play in the right key and on the right strings x

  • omg, our highschool didn't do anything like this

even remembering the lines was beyond us

  • how sweet......good vocals, and keep singing!!!

  • Oke for a high school production this is quite amazing too bad they cant act and the last bit was extremely bad. Still not really bad

  • MALADE!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! so amezing!!!!

  • great!

  • I just said the same thing.... this is the BEST hi school show I have ever seen.

Why? How can they have those sets? Those costumes? those effects?

I loved it and I saw the ORIGINAL at the ROYAL DRURY LANE in London in 1988.

  • Cris is good, he's just a bit tired and the song is a bit high for a man.

  • i cant believe this is a high school play, amazing x

  • Kim has a beautiful voice and great emotions

Chris still sounds a little shaky, which is understandable, as this is a really high range for a guy to sing at; especially for guys his age.

The whole performance was really beautiful =]

  • chris has such a beautiful head voice

  • ugh the violins in the pit are shocking

  • @Idol2b I am impressed that they have a pit! My school had an.. ugh.. Cafetorium!

  • @Idol2b Ugh I agree about the violins...even the worst players should at least manage to be in tune!

  • i noticed the struggle in chris's voice but he pulled it off pretty well.. kudos! =]

  • Brings a tear to my eye...my former fiance was a Marine.

  • the guy is so hot!!!!!!!!!!!!! i watch all your videos. haha

  • Harmonies had issues here... The Chris vocal line in TLNOTW is VERY difficult to sing for many men, but this is a good attempt.

  • love it, but the flag is wrong

  • I just happened to find these videos. I saw Miss Saigon in London, Toronto and New York, And I CANNOT believe this was a high school productions. Everyone was excellent !!!

  • one of the most romantic songs ever written...they totally did it justice!

  • looks nothing like lea, but sounds kinda like her. not here tho but everywhere else

  • This is a nice one... ^^

  • a little flat in places but very good.

  • OH my gosh im in love with the guys voice...of course the girl is also as good...

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhh im so jealous ur high school drama program is excellent! and it has a lot of talented people

  • I used this as reference when we had our play. Everybody loved the guy. LOL. They said the girl looked like Lea Salonga. Agree?

  • she looks nothing like lea salonga, but shes super talented & belongs on BROADWAY! get outta texas girl!

  • phenomenal! :)

  • wonders where there mics are?

  • they're probably hair mics...thats what we are using for our version of Saigon

  • I think this is a very good production for a high school. Compared to the ones I had in high school, this is much more top notched and detailed. The finale even made me teary. But...I just find it funny that in Last Night of the World...they talk about hearing their song of a lone saxophone and remembering the moment they met...yet...in this production...there is no saxophone...just really off violins and various other instruments. *shrug*

  • well in this year's production "footloose," they do have a saxophone.

the pit is students, so maybe they didn't have a saxophone player last year?

    this is amazing.

  • This is so good!

  • Ugh, I LOVE Kim and Chris. Kim's voice brings me to tears. She's a wonderful actress, too! And Chris...just...oh my God...Chris is incredible.

  • i like how when kim says "i'll go with you" how she goes up. Lea (Go Lea!!) goes down and i think the higher note gives more emotion and excitment

  • you should search on "hey, mr.producer miss saigon" lea goes up on that tone and I think that`s where this girl got it from. It is absolutly fantastic. the first time I heard lea take that tone, that was when I fell in love with miss saigonXD

  • I agree. Whoever Chris is, he's a little pitchy here and there, but he's got potential. He's very tender too which makes for some nice moments between him and Kim. I'm really enjoying seeing this HS's production. Fabulous job!

  • So whoever Chris is has quite the potential. He goes pitchy a little bit here and there but with some training, this guy will turn out to be INCREDIBLE.

  • I love the scenes with just the two of them - their voices go so well together (even though Chris' voice is a little weak in this song).

  • I LOVED THE PRODUCTION YOU MADE!!! congrats, you did INCREDIBLY GREAT =)!

  • Very good for a high school production. It's as good as the original Miss Saigon I had seen on Broadway. Where is this school located?

  • J.J. Pearce High School is located in Richardson, TX.

  • I'm moving to Austin!!!

random... but still! I hope the theater programs there are as good as this one!... eek the strings kind of made me jump though.! Oh well... still a pretty song!

  • orchestra isn't that great. haha oh well... not bad tho

  • yea go cox...the set and everything was done by cox and his students...and i was one of them...go john and elizabeth!!!

  • This is a tough song to sing. I have to chuckle because i did it a few years back with a lady in a lounge and during rehearsals the piano player kept telling me--LOL how many keys are you going to drop to on the high parts? I ended up pulling it off during the live performance.

  • How can a H.S afford the rights to do this show? It's very expensive and alot of colleges can't even afford it. Where is this school located?

  • I believe this school is in Richardson, TX. Google the school and check Wikipedia. You'll find it's a very notable and prestigious school. Lots of music honors for band and choral.

  • I recently graduated from this high school, and all I can say is that when you have the Theatre Director, and Technical Director we did, this show wasn't as hard to pull off as everyone makes it out to be!

Yes, the school is in Richardson, TX. Any other questions, feel free to ask, I was a part of the department for 3 years, so I'll probably be able to answer your questions.

  • its in dallas texas, And we just happen to have a very fortunate theatre program!

  • heyy u go to pearce!!! OMG im going 2 next year!!!! r u in theatre or in Choir???

  • Yeah, pearce is great, you will love it. And im in theatre and choir :). if you have time, def. do both :)

  • i can only do choir but i was going to do after school theatre! isnt that where u try out???

  • You try out at pearce and they have 2 shows a year open for the entire school to try out for. And then 1 theatre production for the theatre 2/3/4 classes! :)

  • Falsetto?! Come on, dude.

Chris is a tenor part. Get a tenor up there.

A G is not high for a tenor...

  • This is such a beautiful song from the show. Both of you do an outstanding and moving performance.

  • the guy's high pitch is disturbing..lol good job though..you can tell he's making the effort..

  • i love this song!!!

*get a hold of her self*

my high school is going to produse miss saigon and i actually got to be stage manager for the show. thanks for postiong the videos there helping learn the play alot faster.

    THANKS!!!!!

  • lol im not really replying hehe..wanted to edit my last comment...

the ending SUCKS in terms of pitch..and the guy is totally off..she manages to keep it together quite well.. but still..the ending ruined it for me.
