you do have a lot of say in what your child wears and does. You have the power to say NO. I am very familiar with the competitive dance world and I know it's hard to say no and still have your child be chosen to be in the best dances but you are the one setting the standards for you and your child. It can be done. Judges also have the power to fix this by refusing to reward inappropriate costumes with high scores

very talented, very nice, but...... well, it's not appropriate for the age group. at ALL. I can think of hundreds of costumes that would be more appropriate for 5/6/7 year olds and fit the music, and a lot of the choreography asked them to draw upon things they shouldn't even think about until they're AT THE VERY LEAST 10. There's no denying that they're talented, and have great potential, and congrats on AGT but seriously...

You have to remember that there is more to it than just the moves and costumes, it's remembering it and spacing, timing and execution of all the technical jazz and hip hop moves. These kids are only 5,6 and a couple of 7 year old's. This is why they always place first.

Us parent's have no say on the costumes it's there choreographer that decides.

I think that is really mean!!! This is a nation wide dance association that they competed in and WON! These kids worked their butts off in rehearsal and practice! If you you want to win firstly you have to be GREAT and be able to remember the routine and have a costume that fits the music! Tell if you can do any of that? I know I can't.

Well, the judges obviously didn't see anything wrong with their outfit as they took 1st in their category. Showstoppers has been around for a really long time, and I'm sure if they had an issue with the outfit, they would have said something. To them, it's obviously appropriate and OKAY! So...with that said, I think you need to take a look at dancing "now" and see how much it has evolved. Outfits change over time and apparently this outfit suited this music. AND you obviously don't understand!

first of all. The costumes make the dance. You wouldnt want them wearing something like a pink tutu or or frilly stuff it just wouldnt appropriate for the type of choreography and music and it's just a dance routine. It's fun for them.
