I have this one! It's ok, but battery life is.. 2.5-3 days.. And screen... is small:( but everything is ok, full qwerty keyboard is usefull.. But camera is one big shit..(but it's PDA, not digital camera).
Of course you can! AT&T is a gsm network and it takes a little card that you need to slip in the phone and this phone is a GSM phone type so yes it works! If you get it have fun with it!
Great review, but can you demonstrate the sound functionality & volumes (including ring tone, alarms, etc), because this has been reported to be quite problematic on 600 & 900 series. Would be nice to hear before you buy.
Also queries re Outlook/Exchange functionality on this device, and ability to and functionality/flexibility wrt selecting comms method (phone carrier or 802.11g) when using apps that require internet access.
Hoping you or other users can help with updated youtube review.
No service provider carries this device. It is a SIM unlocked device available to work worldwide on GSM networks with quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. You can use it in the U.S. with AT&T or T-Mobile. I have tried both successfully.
This video is excellent. I just received the 910 from Amazon yesterday, and it's great to have a commentary/walkthrough for such a phone!
Question: the left-handed softkey is designated for the Internet Explorer. Does anyone know if there is a way to assign the softkey to a different function/program?
I contacted HP and was told there is no way to change these soft keys through a utility. I suggest you do a Google search for Pocket Tweaks as this is a registry editor that may have this functionality built into it.
Very nice and informative review! I am planning to receive this from ExpansysUSA next week and can hardly wait! I hope you can talk more this HP on the MobileTech Roundup podcast.
It's essentially as good as the best that's already out there for touchscreen smartphones - which means it's not really that great.
I've been using the HTC tilt for about 6-7 months, and it's hard to see in direct sunlight, even with my other hand shading it. Even so, it's not much of a concern since you get used to the layout of various menus over time, so muscle memory kicks in when using the touchscreen in broad daylight.

Sorry but No, Sprint ses a technology called CDMA, The Ipaq 910 Take A GSM Sim Card, As offered by AT&T or Verizon Wireless.

Verizon is also CDMA. T-mobile is the other GSM carrier.

Have you ever noticed that you can hear your own voice through the earpiece? I got that annoying problem and have returned my 910. Any idea?

does it work for t-mobile
jayb2fly 3 years ago
Works like a champ with T-Mobile too. I popped in my SIM and it went right to the HP iPAQ manager that put in my settings automatically.
This is truly a world phone with quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA/UMTS so you get it all in a single device.

Excellent, detailed review. Nice to see someone finally reviewing the unit that really knows their stuff!

I love the idea of a touchscreen smartphone with a full qwerty but I'm worried about the quality of a qvga screen.
