  • Get over it Dale .... you have the future in your view.

  • so their mayor brought prosperity back to his home town. the kids get a revamped school, money coming into the local economy. cheaper and more reliable power grid, i'd say this is all a sweet deal. and if it fails? the town was broken down anyway. those things look cool to me.

  • WORLD RECORD: BIGGEST WIND TURBINE

    Visit: windturbinecarriedbywheels.weebly.com

ZERO-NOISE from gears and generators since they're sealed underground.

SAVES THE BIRDS AND BATS since the turbines are slow-moving.

DOES NOT NEED TO OCCUPY A WIDER LANDSCAPE since the turbine can be very tall.

MAY BE LOWER-COST since it can use parts of junked trucks and others.

ELUDES HURRICANE FORCE since the blades automatically close.

HELPS THE WIND ENERGY COMPANIES since it is FREE FOR ALL.

  • Apparently West Texas is a nation now.

  • i will lease them my land

  • I love turbines. they look like functional sculptures.

  • @farmsquidly I think I can see his point though. I'm not saying he's right, but imagine if Yosemite, Yellowstone, or Appalachia national parks had these all over the place. I could see them getting old. It's like you wouldn't build a skyscraper in the rocky mountains outside of denver, no matter how beautiful it was.

  • @farmsquidly -- They look harmless enough, I agree. But they are enironmental disasters and are causing people and animals who live nearby to become sick. Not to mention the disasters they are creating oversees where the rare earth elements are taken from the ground.

  • is it me or is the wind turbans making the landscape like ugly

  • @cutandshoottx -- They make the landscape VERY ugly. And they only have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. Then what do we do with them?

  • @AdLaura sick um up are ass i guess lol

  • god bless wind power

  • @jubaleestar -- Let's see if you feel the same way in another 10 years.

  • Wind and solar power is now. Green energy is about using all the sources not just one. Wind, solar, and hydro work great when used in harmony. Think outside the box and do your part.

  • @leamyelectricinc1 I wouldn't say solar is now. It's still a freaking expensive energy. But wind, yes. The price for wind power can now competes with coal.

  • It's good to discover information about new things

  • @ExtremeMariaMVz -- Make sure to do your research and find out how much damage and how environmentally UNFRIENDLY these things really are.

  • I'm doing a project for my school, thanks for uploading

  • Wind farms??? Why would we want more wind?? Its fuckin windy enough :0(

  • I noticed alot of them were not turning, what happens then? yeah a real smart move.

  • Yeah, let's have cows shitting a mile a minute, sucking up natural resources. Screw these flatland-hillbilly fools! Blow baby, blow!

  • Look up austin energies website. 1 of their coal plants 600MW, 1 of their nuclear plants 400MW, 1 large natural gas power plant which powers austin texas 926MW, thousands of wind turbines spanning miles and miles 439MW....

  • @Secretsofsociety okay so looking further I realize there many companies that own these so its not thousands for the 439Watts its still hundreds spanning miles....

  • Seeking Active Partners / Wind Turbine Developers for Projects in the Mountains of Virginia.

I would like to site select with county and landowners signing them into our JVA's. I have a Municipality in mind that is desperate for new jobs, and income base.

We want the END of ALL WAR on this planet and the end of the NUCLEAR NIGHTMARE.

Official First Contact and the end of the TRUTH EMBARGO will soon be here.

Michael Moore speaks for the compassionate HEART of AMERICA NOW.

Love and protect Earth and her precious Air, Water and Soil by all means.

  • That's it? Was there anything more to the rancher next door the didn't like them? He just doesn't like them because of the little red lights on at night? I don't think that's enough of an argument to be against them.....he should be happy they're pumping money into the local economy. And if the subsidies run out it still leaves the local community in a better position if they hadn't even shown up. This Rancher must be mad for another reason.

  • I think those turbines are beautiful. It wouldn't bother me a bit to see them all over my area.

  • Does CBS SUNDAY MORNING show you all the Bald Eagles, Hawks and Geese that fly into these wind turbines and get chopped to pieces? CBS. The Communist Broadcasting System. Yes, Green is the new Red.

  • So glad the 2nd most populated state in the USA are investing so much in green energy.

according to what Ive read, they set a deadline for a certain amount of energy to be ran by renewable energy, and they beaten that deadline BY 15 YEARS! I dont remember the number of watts of energy was the deadline, but its amazing they were able to beat it.

  • why is everything bigger in Texas? love green power ideas at work. thanks

patch this into search -----> h0dnk7snhQ

  • I dont like the purple cowboy.

  • @TheTrey360 I don't see any horns on him, so I guess that explains the purple shirt ("Only steers and queers come from Texas...")

  • ...did he say wind turbans?

Also I'm pretty sure west Texas isn't a nation.

  • ...did he say wind turbans?

  • Landscape!? Is he one of those "Ranchers" who just buys up land for the sake of having it? No crop or cattle? Those people have no cattle and just let their land go to waste. This is progress. Powering the people of Texas. I myself live close to the coast so I'm going into hydrogen and solar. Either that or cyber security. All good though.

  • the word is being polluted but pple care about is the landscape? oh please!

  • @xplosivelilly --- How about doing some research and finding out about how the rare earth elements that are needed to operate these giants are creating toxic wastelands. Wind turbines are HARDLY green. Not to mention the amount of destruction they do to wildlife and migratory bird routes.

  • i love how he says "each of these can power 500 homes, when one kilogram of U235 can power an entire city of a million. no joke. nuclear energy gives off more energy than wind and solar by a factor of a million.

  • 6:37 "changing world" It couldent have been said better... Im all for it.. Whos with me? Ranchers and Cowboys but im sorry time to move on.

  • Don't be fooled, this is a land grab. The larger cities need our water to continue to grow. Hueco Bolsun.

  • The usual north ameri cuntus is a john wayne look alike who thinks the cow hords and the pastures are the world.very retarded.can you immagine that theyr still live million of rednecks and other patriots that swing the stupid us flag every day.

  • The common north ameri cuntus is shown at 0:22 still backwarded "cowboys"that live their useless lives in the desert of a state.i dont get this the ameri cuntus have so many states all cut.and probably think negroes are slaves.what are this people thinking very weird.living only in the past other wise this hillbilly areas would be empty.and if they move to california or dallas they get fat because off influences HAHA

  • Better than "atomic".

  • maby if thay wear purple he wold like them

what a fag if u dont like thim dont look at thim butt fucker

  • Many countries are now aware of the benefits that they can get from wind energy by simply using wind turbines. Even advanced countries like US have wind turbines to supply them free electricity. It's no wonder that other areas in the US like west Texas is also using wind turbines as their energy source. Who doesn't want free electricity since all of us are paying for it ? You can expect that more people will use wind turbines in the future.

  • @windturbinesinc I just HAVE to ask: Since when are the US an advanced country ???

  • Wind turbines are really cute! Do they have those in pink? I think I saw one on windturbines(dot)net one time. :)

  • anyone else notice that he says "turbans"

  • Those who oppose still think they can use energy like there is no tomorrow. brainwashed into the idea of unending resources. The US is Islamic oil. I hope they build millionsof them.

  • do you think the cowboy who is complaining in this story ever bothered to ask if his butt ugly purple shirt was bothering anyone?

  • I grew up around farmers and this story really riled me up. F$%$%$king farmers. They are the biggest welfare bums on the planet. This guy in a purple shirt talking about how ugly windmills are. Have you ever seen what overgrazing by cattle looks like? Cow shit and burnt out muddy fields. How about the amount of petro-chemicals they drop on the fields as herbicide and pesticide? Millions of acres of mono-crop corn that nobody wants. Get a life you worthless bums. No one owes you a living.

  • @drmodestoesq "farmers are worthless bums"? who are you?!?! farmers also feed america and i know zero farmers that are on welfare! when they run out of money do you see them running to government begging for money? i dont think so, they accept the fact and file bankruptcy and start over, they are also the only people i know that work hard 7 days a week 365 days a year to put food on the dinner table. u cant find to many people that work every holiday.

  • @11windclimber The United States currently pays around $20 billion per year to farmers in direct subsidies as "farm income stabilization" via U.S. farm bills. Top states for direct payments were Iowa ($501 million), Illinois ($454 million), and Texas ($397 million). There's your farmers not running to the government and begging for money. They are also diverting money away from intelligent non-petroleum based initiatives like wind and solar into useless dead ends like corn ethanol.

  • @drmodestoesq: If you think solar is superior to ethanol I have a bridge to sell you. Solar is horribly inefficient and nowhere near worth it. I personally have no problem with farm subsidies so long as it means we don't have to end up importing our food from China just like everything else. What drains the federal budget the most is (surprise) defense. Those totals you listed amount to a little over a billion... multiply that times about 680 and you get the money the Pentagon got in 2010..

  • @11windclimber yes you "americans" are worthless, and they feed the north ameri cantus?the most insatiable appetite on earth?causing the most carbon output, food production etc.i doubt that.the only thing you do is hanging 30 years back and talking about the good old days.and "feed" maybe a few redneck states in texas etc.thats it.HAHA good joke maxbe you was on a farm as a child and your grandfather telld you this lie storys.make your reality check.the north ameri cuntus is so retarded.

  • I say if your neighbor pays your bills... maybe he can have an opinion. Personally I think they make the cows happy!

  • "AND THE TURBANS ARE MULTIPLYING"

    this guy is hilarious...

  • that's a great story but some of the people are really haters.

  • Rediscovered a child hood sweetheart in Odessa. I drive from Dallas to Odessa twice a month and love the site of the windmills. To me they are beacons that tell me she is not far away. Home is where you hang your hat. Take a side road and see them up close and you will have a new appreciation for them.

  • What are the arguments against wind power? - For answers. see my 'Wind Nimby Rant' vid.

    WPR

  • China just finished the worlds largest. Just another example how the U.S. is allowing to pass them up

  • His no FAN.. bwahaha I lauged so hard.

  • Why would they just shut them off? There is no reason to oppose renewable energy.

  • wind turbans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mactekus Hey fuck you I live in that part of texas, and I agree with you Midland and Odessa are piece of shit places, but the small towns around them are good places to live.

  • The future will be great. We can use wind turbines to generate clean electricity for the people.

  • yet, in reality around 70 deaths accrued, due to Chernobyl!

chernoble is impossible to day, heck that power plant was out dated even to the the tiem period.

there was no disaster containment center/bunker built over the facility.

    in experienced staff.

    half assed engineered facility.

    ------

3 miles island resulted in the amount of radiation in the surroundings area, that you would get more radiation from a dentist xray..or from the ground.....sun...or your food..

    we can reposess waste!

  • @captinseperoth You are a fukwitt! sure you can REPROCESS atomic waste America is the leader .More atomic bombs and radioactive weapons of mass destruction than any other country in the world. All it would take is for some paranoid fukwitt to press the button and life as we know it would no longer exist on this planet.

  • @2karriizman this is why, some people like you should not vote. All of this green energy factory jobs,is complete bullshit. Most of the money will go to over seas. and your clueless. When I say atomic energy,im talking about the many types of atomic energy Thorium-fuel cycle Fast Breeders conventional and fusion the sun in one second produces so much energy with fusion,in one sec. the sun would power the USA for millions of years, using one sec of sun's power.
  • @captinseperoth The sun is in just the right location for life to exist and supply all that life needs.Time is running out for your atomic energy to save the planet . Why fool around with toxic shit . Uranium is a rare earth, limited finite, 60years worth left.Watt ya gunner do then captian? Your solution is short sighted and will leave this planet in a much less safer place. Atomic energy provides fukall of the worlds energy needs and never will.

  • @2karriizman

that proves how ignorant your statements are.

Let guess, you think waste is "glowing barrels of goo"

France reuses 98 percent of the fuel in spent fuel rods, for more fuel for atomic power plants(or you glowing barrels).

The two percent they don't use is plutonium.

Integral Fast Reactors ,which are newly invented types of reactors can use that 2 percent plutonium to power more houses.

then we have no more waste.\

    Don't forget Thorium fuel.

    Don't forget fusion.

    hence no more

  • @captinseperoth So if this industry is so safe why the fuck do the military have to guard the toxic shit produced . You are the benighted one mate and thank goodness im not an American .Guesswork?

  • @2karriizman because a vast majority of people who blindly fear all forms of atomic energy, should not

vote or have a say how energy is produced,

    let alone breed,hence green peace.

20 years ago which is absolute nothing,we were in a serious war known as the cold war!

most of our atomic facilites are of several genrations of past design, which were made to do two things

    1 power America

2 Generate fuel for an atomic war.

  • @2karriizman

Now we have newer generations of plant designs, which can be powered by Thorium. Which last a few dozen decades rather millions of years..before it's harmless... even a shorter time if it's the right isotopes.

We have breeder reactors which use waste and/or depleted uranium which we use in in weapons.

we can repossess waste to be reused, what can't typically be used in reactors can be used in breeder reactors to power more homes.

all the waste in the ground, can be reused.

  • @captinseperoth Thats right captian, America makes weapons from depleted uranium and has no conscience useing them. We all have a say as to who runs Australia and voteing is compulsory no discrimination. The cold war was nothing more than a load of posturing and piffling as nothing happened.Your country is run by war mongering megalomanics and every one who does not see things your way is the enemy .If atomic war ever breaks out no one will be around, no worries then as to powering homes.

  • @2karriizman say that to your parent as well as those who feared ww3 could happen at anytime.

Be glad because of the "war mongers",so many people have freedoms around the world.

Do you know what's happening in north kroea?

if it weren't for the USA,South Korea would be like north korea.

Iran want's to wipe Israel off the map,do you want a genocide?

we spend more on lazy bums in Detroit, than on the military.

  • @captinseperoth So you would be happy liveing near site 300.Not much point to freedom when your country has been plastered with depleted uranium munitions.Captian you sound like a bigotted benighted American patriot with no fucking idea as to watts really going on in this world.

  • @2karriizman like i said

there are reactors that we can build NOW,which consume depleted uranium!

meaning little,to no more depleted uranium!

you know what,Id eat food right off the floors of an atomic facility which houses the reactor! As their so clean and safeIdare ya to try that with such a facility let alone a coal facility!

  • @captinseperoth stop watching main stream media your informations are false.

  • @captinseperoth i dont want to give a worthless redneck who probably fucked a cow, informations so watch tv and be a good slave.like the other 99% of your uscunt population HAHA

p.s the shotgun in the backseat isnt loading.

  • we need to out phase coal, and go for atomic energy

    uranium-thorium-breeder reactor- and eventually fusion.

wind and solar, and hyrdro is a good way,but we need to much more substantial way to generate green energy.

there has been,it has been far too long for all the

    deaths,pollution,MAJOR industrial disasters to accure!

ten times as many deaths have accrued related to the drug war down in mexico this year alone, compared the the PROJECTED amount of deaths related to Chernobyl.

  • "West Texas is the fourth largest nation."

  • Wind Energy - what a freakin' scam foisted on us by major corporations! Wind energy does not save a single barrel of oil, nor is it profitable without government subsidy - from our pockets. Plus...these Turbines are not even made in America - all of them are imported! We Americans have been played for suckers....again!

  • @minitrueful Don't drink the haterade. We build wind turbines right here in Michigan. And we sure could use the business. Also, ALL energy is subsidized by the government.

  • @minitrueful

partially correct, it use to be that we imported 70% of the components to a

turbine. That was before the wind boom here in texas. Vestas, GE, and Siemens are all building factories across the us as we speak. Now we mak more than 50% of the components.

  • @minitrueful Your why america gets shit from other countrys stupid close minded fuck. Windpower better then oil from the middle east and coal whitch wont last forever. And do I gota bring nuclear energy into this?

  • @unholynationmorons sorry to interrupt, but im going to interject, that nuclear energy is the best and most practical form of energy.

  • @cole3454657 Um so much radiation coming fro japans nuclear power plants russia says the by next month radiation in japan will be critical levels. Not to meation thousands of gallons of toxic waste is pooring into the sea from the plant. Sorry to say but if you think nuclear energy is best and practical you are too stupid to look up the facts.

  • @unholynationmorons all of your arguments seem to be based on the chance theres a nuclear disaster, well, its a one in a billion chance, way more people die drilling for oil. and newsflash greenpeace the waste isnt dumped in the sea. they currently have storage areas designated away from cities, and ground water etc. and theres the yucca mountain project but thanks to hippie assholes that wont be up and running till 2017.

  • @cole3454657 Lol stupid ass it is going in the sea have you even seen the news? thousands of gallons leaking out of it. You obviously have no idea what your talking about *sigh

  • @unholynationmorons your stupid, yes i have seen the news. name a non greenpeace source that says that. the fact that you say wind and solar are better than nuclear energy, just proves that you are the one who dosent know what their talking about.

  • @cole3454657 Are you stupid msnbc isnt a greenpeace news agency and they cant just lie.. it showed the nuclear water coming out.. you cant fish anywhere near northern japan.. Heres a fact for you the windmills after the earthquake are still standing and are picking up the slack after the broke nuclear power plant. Windturbines are perpetual nuclear energy is for cheap morons like yourself. Germany is shutting down 95% of its nuclear power plants for windmills..

  • Wind energy is growing at a rapid pace and many people are installing wind turbines at home as it helps in the generation of power. Though the installation is expensive, it is a long term investment. These turbines collect kinetic energy from the wind and convert it into electrical energy. These turbines do it efficiently and without polluting the environment. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has information on the wind industry and the role of transformers.

  • Things have changed in recent years. China is now the largest producer of wind energy, and their pace is still accelerating. I guess they don't want to be as dependent on fossil fuels as the US in the future.

  • did he say wind turbans? oh he means wind turbines. its pronounced turb-ine

  • On the island of Maui (part of Hawaii) the is a huge wind farm that may power the whole island!

  • ye ye.what the world do without german technology.

  • they make thease in michigan and i see them going down the road in pieces they are GINORMOUS!!

  • Good clean energy. The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.

  • omg they are beautiful

and if the subsidies end who gives a fuck the money will stay in america instead of going out of the country for oil

  • YAY FOR TEXAS. IM PROUD OF MY STATE NOW

  • Blow Baby Blow...

  • we COULD do that or we can also pay hardcore kids to windmill in those windy places.

  • west texas the 4 greatest nation i thougt it was a state fuckn retarded ass moron reporter and yeah wind and solar are taking over if thats gods will

  • @pimezon

    Maybe, maybe not.

And please, don't call me a bro :P

  • Thanks! We build those whirly gigs here in Pcola, FL.

  • when did you rednecks ever become interested in green tech, i though u idiots were too busy trying to put us blacks back into slavery.

  • And I thought that nothing good came out of Texas ;-) Reap that wind!

  • midland is really bland scenery, but east of ft. stockton it is not so bad. if anyone reading this has never been in west texas, let me tell you, there is nothing like it. you have only one town over 10,000 people along I-10 it is impressive, if intimidating in its remoteness. drive from san antonio to el paso and you have covered 1000 km with a population of less than 50,000.

  • @nomadnametab

you r rite. Just moved to west from central Texas. Went from a city of over 112,000 to less than 500 people. Beautiful mountains, wide open space. Not for the faint of heart. Only a select few could survive in the west.

  • There may be so many of those turbines, but West Texas WILL benefit from the investment in wind energy. A lot of the towns that previously were dying will now find a new lease on life that's cleaner and safer. Plus, the turbines are also, admittedly, so much fun to look at. ;-)

  • They don't look monsters to me.

  • do you really think that when they throw the big switch on all this stuff yur electric bill is gonna down lol or better yet roflmao its all shakin hands now its all good lol but wait theyll start passin these laws on yu little guys soon ordinances laws taxes it will be so expensive or criminal to have yur own panels or turbine lol and yull say why is elec so expensive theyll say cause were savin the earth lol lol

  • i like it. Look at my Home Wind Turbine videos, pretty cool system I put on my Home Rooftop. My RoofMill design just won a green design contest. Friends and subscribers welcome.

  • This is all good - just one or two little trolls who think theyre ugly. Fuck em. Wind baby, wind.

  • Big wind turbines are the wrong way to go. These are just too big, too much. 7% of all the electricity is lost in transmission. Wasteful. The same raw materials and labor should go to putting smaller rooftop wind turbines at the point of use. Then the 7% for the life of the equipment will be saved, used. Look at my videos of wind power, it's a far better approach than these big wind farms. Peace.

  • WOW! Great report! two thumbs up!

  • Made in Denmark

  • Looking at videos today. I like the clip, nice job joebro32, have a look at my Home Wind Turbine videos and subscribe or friend me if you like.

  • I grew up in west Texas. Every time I pass through Sterling City, I am amazed at how many more wind turbines have been added since the time before.

West Texas is always windy and the perfect place to start producing wind energy. When the price of oil skyrockets again, we will be glad to have other sources---and non-polluting.

I don't think the wind farms detract from the landscape at all. It's all flat with microwave towers and telephone poles.

  • @mollydtt ...and nothing looks worse in our skies than pollution:)

  • @Mactekus if you noticed his land was not on a Mesa. he probably wasnt given the option of a land lease he is bitter his neighbors were. he sould not have to move and he doesnt have to move, he sould stay and raise cows. but if he were smart he would put up his own wind mill

    to meet his personal needs.

  • when these get old, they will be removed and even bigger ones installed, they were smart enough to get land leases of 150 years so other could not take the sweet spots.

  • Texas leads the United States in wind power production. Wind energy is the fastest growing energy sector. Many companies are putting in great efforts to build a renewable energy economy. One such company is Pacific Crest Transformers. It has been partnering with the wind energy sector since 1985.

  • LOL at 'Texas is butt ugly.'

  • if youve ever seen purple, green, orange, red, blue, yellow, gray, and pink in the same sunset; or watched a violent thunderstorm rage all day that never even reaches you.. its quite a humbling experience. not to mention the stars at night!!

  • when i first moved to west, tx i thought it was butt ugly too. after spending some time there though, it really grows on you. at first glance, it may seem bland. but there's a lot more than meets the eye. the region itself is huuugee and has plenty of different geographic formations- endless plains to quiet deserts to redrock canyons and mountains, ect.

  • @catjones271 i have been all over the world, i have even lived on islands. the sky is the same everywhere, and i never get board looking at it.

  • they should like, put solar pannels all over those things like a 2 for 1

  • I sell residential wind turbines and most are available with an adapter to "plug in" solar panels. That way there is no need to rewire to your home. Your ready to roll.

  • @812anita thats awesome!!!

  • ur probably from up north... yeah the town is dry, i wouldnt want it all green, west texas life style is an honor, something ur hybrid driving, recycling ass wouldnt know about...i can tell u dont know anything about hard work or how to wake up at 5 in the morning knowing ur going to bust ur ass,.. i can tell ur just a pussy city boy..feel sorry for u

  • @arispe04 nopw hold on partner, whats so smart about getting up at 5 AM and busting ass, i used to get up at 4;30 to get to work at the hospital so all the work could be done befor the doctors get up. smart no. but building all the wind farms

seems brilliant. to bad the city folk cant figure it out. those big citys can be justs as windy.

  • Wind energy is the fastest growing energy sector in the United States...Wind energy represents nearly 5% of the US electrical generation and is targeted to reach 20% in the future. The United States is developing key projects in the wind market. Companies like Pacific Crest Transformers offer custom built transformers for wind energy farms.

  • if you don't use *clean natural energie* you'll have to use combustible and this will contribute to the global warming. That's why i think we MUST turn to that kind of energie. But it's true that there are some little bads things reliated to this. but it's better than the negatives effects of combustible fossile or nuclear .

  • Saddam could have picked up his innovation phone instead he picked up the military phone the rest is history.

A solution to an energy problem in a desert is using solar and winds to build an efficient energy grid. When there is no wind there is light/sun all day. There are thousand of miles of desert not being used. Solar and wind can offer the desert land more purpose and less consequential issues associated with war.

    Innovation works.

    Peace,

    E-T

  • Wind works? Let's look at an 'experiment':

Denmark, a country the size of Rhode Island, has *6,000* wind turbines and they haven't closed even ONE of their fossil fuel power plants. In fact, in 2006, their CO2 emissions INCREASED by 16%. (Can't find recent data--maybe the Danish wind industry is exerting political pressure?)

Their coal plants are not only still used, but they have to pick up the slack when wind doesn't deliver which, judging by their increasing CO2 emissions, is quite often.

  • all of your facts are misleading

when you are making an arguement be sure that your first statement is correct.

denmark is mre than 10 times the size of rhode island, one has an area 16640mile ^2 the latter is 1545. and as a percentage wind energe usage has gone up 30-40% each year. maybe their co2 emission has gone up because of population growth.

but the their usage of wind energy is increasing exponentially year by year.

whien the wind is not blowing they don't need coal plant to pick up

  • up their slack they have a contract with neibouring countries like sweden and finland and norway, where electricty comes mainly from hydropower. that when the wind is blowing and generate excess electricity it is shared with those countries. so they don't have to empty their reseviors. but then the wind is not blowing then the hydro plants pick up the slack.

so get your facts straight before running your mouth

  • Is the guy who has sold-out his ranching way of life for "easy Turbine money" aware that the things are not of any actual economic benefit ? Does he know that they take several hundred years to supply enough energy to enable a replacement to be built ?

  • don't you have to start somewhere

    why not early than late

  • You are trying to say that "windfarms" are some kind of early pioneering experiment ? - or what. Please explain. It has been demonstrated in Holland and UK, many years ago, that machinery to get energy from the wind - to do work for us - can be a worthwhile investment. Had it taken several hundred years to build the things to do 25 years worth of work, I think no-one would have bothered. So "got to start somewhere" is pretty lame kind of "reasoning". Do you "drink", or what ?

  • wind energy has been used for thousands of years as a reliable energy source.

the is tried tested and true.

denmark holland and germany has developed this technology for years and it has worked wonders.

the problem is that US havent started to develop this technology.

then why not start doing it earlier

it is way logical then doing it later when we are in deep trouble.

fossil fuel will run out in the near future

  • "it is tried and tested" - but the results are ignored

I.e. Public meeting Llandeilo uk July '05

Cost of proposed farm --- 153M

Annual income from energy it would supply --------- 000point2M i.e. 200k Why pay 153M pounds (worth of Co2 pollution) in order to obtain

25 years x 200k pounds-worth of clean energy ? Can you explain rather than change the subject. Wind energy USED to work, - it has worked wonders - but if you open your eyes you will see that it was different

  • Are you kidding me or what.

It is fruitless having an discussion with you.

It is so disingenuous to play around with facts like that.

Your arguement is so weak that it is disgraceful.

Your arguement is against wind energy is a wind farm that hasn't been built yet and it is only proposed with a cost you just pulled out of your ass of 153M.

You could do a better job that that, it is pathetic.

If i were you i would weight the return with the cost. What is the real life generating capacity

  • and then do a ROI, to see if it is viable or not.

    Am I argueing with retard.

you lack of intelligence, and your inability to form a logical arguement against my point of view just blow my mind.

  • windmills and windturbines are very different

  • Comment removed

  • You say "cluttering the view" as if it were an insignificant point. It isn't. Our countryside is not for sale.

  • You're right. I wouldn't want them in line of sight of anywhere I lived. I don't at all find them attractive or pleasant. Anyone who has experienced the shadow flickers these bohemoths put out in the evening light and how far the "flicker" can be cast would be nuts to want to live next to them. For those who don't mind them, good for you , take em!

  • Allthough we may have problems if we have "wind". We undoubtedly have a very large problem with people who spent vast "government money" on littering the world with machinery that takes several hundred years to supply the energy which went into building it. This is not journalistic exageration, it is physical fact of which not many appear either to be aware, or wish to be made aware-of. Meanwhile a sensible design of wind Turbine-Alternator can pay for itself in 20 years or less.

  • It depends what you mean by "Wind".

If you nean "modern windfarms", then the biggest "problem" is that they don't actually provide enuf energy in their entire lives to enable a replacement to be made. They are in fact the governments "fig-leaf" Window dressing.

returning a small fraction of one percent, p.a. of their cost. Meanwhile 5% p.a. is readily obtainable from a sensible design.

The problem IS, that they haven't actually worked-out how to do it - but carry on as tho' they had.

  • where is everyone getting their information? it takes 6-8 months for an average turbine to pay for itself nowadays. there is alot of old information being passed around on the internet, from the turbines from the 80's

  • 6 to 8 months !? 140-odd percent per annum ?!

Where do I buy one ? Does Northern Rock know about it ? How tragic they wasted all there money in real-estate elswhere. You really must spread this good news. What are your figures based upon ? I was at a public meeting July '05 Llandeilo uk where

    Cost of proposed farm 150M

Annual income 000point.2M Haven't they improved a lot in only 4 years !

  • Why not put solar panels in between the wind turbines? Will this enhance the energy grid?

    Peace,

    E-T

  • Both Sunshine and Wind are distributed like consumers (us), so what purpose does it serve to place all the collectors miles away ? I don't see anything wrong with Finding oneself a job - if it will benefit things - but Making work for oneself, when there is so much necessary work to do, I fail to grasp the benefit of. So "the grid will be enhanced" should this please us, or give us a future ? - or what ?

  • I agree with most of your points here. Why people don't see the benefit of collecting their own energy, on their own property is beyond me.

Something that should've been considered a long time ago are the massive areas of nice flat rooftop available on places like warehouses and grocery stores. With buildings like those I don't see why it should be necessary to use land for solar farms. Wind farms I've never really been a fan of. Personal wind turbines do make sense though, for some people.

  • You are right, there is no need to waste the countryside - and then have to transport the (any) energy supplied by building extra "grid". The only theory that springs to my mind for why the government does this is for the very fact that it IS so visible. It's their "we are really concerned and "green"" statement. Or to put it the other way their "Energy laundering" deception driven by fossil and nuclear businesses. And "environMental" groups, of course.

What else could it be ?
