  • ههههههههههههههههههههههههه دي عروس منو البعزف ليها راجل دي جهجهتو التراث الله يقرفكم ياخي

  • Mashallah i love being sudanese, our traditions and culture. its amazing. Hopefully im gonna get taught this for my wedding.

  • I LOVE IT,, its beautiful.

  • they usually wear more "sexier" clothes than this lol xD but this is in front of a audience soo :P

  • this dance is cool i actually witnessed it live 2 months ago when my cousin got married in sudan... she did a really good job better than these girls

  • What has been shown is a new style of dance and perhaps it would have been good if the dancers were a bit better, however to portray it as a typical traditional dance is inaccurate. The bridal dance is a solo performance and would have been nice to preserve that.

Saying that it is nice to see such innovative attempt to come up with new styles based on traditional dances and am sure all with agree that with the rich and diverse cultures of the country there are plenty of opportunities.

  • yes they could be sudanese girls, but the hair definitely an extension, btw not all sudanese girls are ugly nor all are beautiful,so its better if we discuss more about the culture.

    thanks for uploading

  • SINGLE LADIES O_O (( BEYONCE U STOLE IT )) KEKEKEKEKE

  • mashaallah may god give and happy life and bright future

  • Yes the Sudanese bride is one of the most alluring and attractive brides in the world!!Proud of my sudanese roots!

  • Is misleading title (Brides of the Nile dancing the Sudanese Bridal Dance) I think this dances call (let's get down tonight) or (lets do it like Nike)

  • Thanks for sharing the video.... and for sharing your culture.... I am from Mizoram, India... we have a totally different culture, now I know. And I don't see any inappropriate scene in the dance whatsoever....

  • THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS I AM FROM SOMALIA AND I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE YOUR A LITTLE BIT OF YOUR CULTURE.........I UNDERSTAND WE HAVE ALOT OF RITUALS THAT ARE PRIVATE TOO :)

  • to [rsaeed] u can't say mashallah for something like that

i like the video but i'll never say mashaallah

coz allah has nothig to do with this.

    PEASE

  • i like the dance but the music is poor

  • البنات ديل سودانيات 100% عشان كدا امنع الكلام الفارغ

  • البنات ما سودانيات non sudanes girls

  • @TheGanna9 THEY ARE SUDANESE GIRLS هؤلاء البنات شودانيات 100%!! stop talking trash, you are just jealous! you know nothing about sudanese culture! THIS IS SUDANESE CULTURE!! DA HAGANA, MA GOOL DA MA HAG SUDANEEN! THIS IS OUR CULTURE AND WE ARE PROUD OF IT! SO TOP BEING JEALOUS

    هؤلاء البنات سودانيات 100

    لذا لاتتكلم بالفارغ

  • البنات ما سودانيات non sudanes girls

  • البنات ما سودانيات non sudanese girls

  • MashAllah, hi i am from somalia and i am wondering these females, from what i can make out from this blurry video, they look alot like east africans. How come sudan has people that are so dark and tall and i think they are the denga tribe and then there is the ones that look like they are somali or ethiopian and then there are arabs that look like well...ARABS! And is this a cultural dance for the sudanese that kinda resemble somali's & ethiopians? or the denga/nubians? Their hair is very long!

  • @ChaChing86 The dark skin sudaneses u speak of are from the south. Northern Sudanese can be brown, tan, caramel, beige, vanilla. Sudan is the most diverse country, northern sudanese can pass for hispanic, arab, italian, sudanese women are known for their beauty..sudanese women have waist long hair or butt length hair, the most beautiful women ive ever seen.

  • @LadyInRedNY I agree with most of what you're saying and all... Except for the hair bullshit. It's quite rare to find a girl with hair that long, and Sudanese girls are not the 'most beautiful' girls ever... I'm a Sudanese girl and I know what I'm talking about when I say we possibly have one of the world's worst hair.... But I love Sudan and all :)

  • @XnuhaX MY SUDANESE FRIEND HAS HAIR DOWN HER BUTT SOO DONT TALK ABOUT HAIR U SELLOUT! I can even show u pics of girl with long hair! jsut cuz u are bald headed, doesnt mean all girls are, the most beautiful girl i seen is sudanese!! U ARE NOT SUDANESE, U ARE A SELLOUT DUMB BITCH! go somewhere!

  • @LadyInRedNY Okay, you're just crazy lol...

You've never seen me, and therefore have no right to go ape shit on me. If you bothered to read my comment, I said 'rare' and not imposible... I know girls with long hair in Sudan, but it's not the majority... My hair isn't down my butt, but its down half my back and you have no right to go insulting me when my comment was perfectly respectful towards you. And where exactly have you seen my photo? Lol you're actually psycho, God help you :S

  • @XnuhaX your comment was disrespectful to all sudanese females, dont talk like u know us all u ugly low budget tattered $2 heffa! JUST BECUZ U HAVE NO HAIR DOESNT MEAN U CAN SPEAK FOR US ALL. whats "rare" is a sudanese girl as ugly as u,get God out the convo with ur tired dumb ignorant self. UR BALD HEADED,I SAW UR PIC ON UR PROFILE DUMB DINGBAT.UR UGLY.KEEP IT MOVING

    NEXT...

  • @LadyInRedNY I don't even have a picture on my profile picture. Why are you so angry though? Chill :S

I didn't say Sudanese girls aren't beautiful, I was talking about HAIR. The arabs in Sudan usually have long soft hair but the Africans in Sudan don't. I'm not uneducated. You don't know shit about me, and since I'm not making this personal, neither should you.

We're simply having an argument. Let's keep it civil. You're probs 10 yrs older than me yet I seem to be the mature one here... :\

  • @XnuhaX Ive seen ur photo, u look like an ugly man with ur jay leno chin! and u are bald headed!! u jealous of sudanese girls, bitch get outta here! u aint no sudanese!!! tell me why my sister and my friend got hair down their back!!!?? i know sudanese girls with hair past their butt, there are light skin and dark skin sudanese u dumb heffa! ge educated! and stopp thinking all sudanis girls look alike! just cuz ur ugly with nappy short hair, dont speak for all. AND I AM SUDANESE BITCH! and wat!

  • @XnuhaX I have a sudania friend who is wanted by ALL MEN worldwide, she is more beautiful then the moon...long soft hair thats butt length, wide gazelle eyes...she gets mistaken for latino/italian all the time!!! so stupid uneducated comments like urs piss me off!! JUST BECAUSE YOURE UGLY WITH NO HAIR AND NO MAN WANTS U, DOESNT MEAN US SUDANESE GIRLS ARE LIKE U, BITCH I AINT LIKE U,UR UGLY! AND CUZ UR JEALOUS, U TRY TO BRING ALL SUDANESE GIRLS DOWN. i was voted best hair, and i live in the usa!

  • this cultural dance is being danced for certain meanings .. by exposing it like that in a public show for entertainment it lost all the meanings surrounding it ..thus .. this is just bullsh*t ...

  • sfscorpio1, you're probably right, this dance likely comes from a time before you all were Muslim. That is why you should keep it alive. Don't completely throw away your old African culture to assimilate into the Arabic world. I know that many Sudanese have an Arab identity, but obviously you were something else before you became Arabic. Hold some parts of your former selves. Your African customs should be honored as well. It's a beautiful dance from a beautiful culture. Thank you.

  • @jadapoo1 dont listen to that idiot who knows nnothing, My aunt did that dance on her wedding and she is gorgeous!!! MY WHOLE FAMILY IS MUSLIM, this is our culture, its called in arabic "ragsat al aroos" it is a very sensual dance, that is why the only people allowed to watch the dance are the woman's groom, her FEMALE friends and relatives. it is a beautiful sexy, sensual dance...it is a part of our sudanese culture

  • I think that dance is nice actually. But the ripping of the clothes was not necessary,

How come they couldn't dance with their long dresses?.

  • i guess i can see why some would be against uploading this but personally, i appreciate it. i'm not sudanese and i've never seen this before..it's interesting, i wish the vocals were clearer though. thanks for uploading!

  • THIS VIDEO SHOULD BE REMOVED....ITS AN EMBRASSMENT TO ALL OF SUDAN!!!

  • If we have strong women like that Sudan would be a better place.

  • الكلام ده وين يا أخوانا في السودان

  • maybe the idea of posting it to the public like this it's wrong , but otherwise it's fantastic and this is part of our culture just remember that this dance will be attended by womens only

  • @Mr7amedo sudanese girls fo rhtis dance wear sexier clothing then this, soo this is actually "modest"..ALSO, they performed this in front of an audience, sfscorpio just got it from the site...they performed this i believe in washington the JOHN F KNEENDY CENTER.

  • Beautiful song and beautiful dance, Sudan has a rich culture south and north, for those do not like it do not watch, you are not obligated to watch, these videos show different prosepctive about Sudan other than conflicts, keep the good work

  • Wat does all these mean!!????

  • first of all the woman that speaks at the end of the ved should have explained to viewers that this dance is preformed by the bride in the presence of her husband and women only .. second of all what was that noise for god sake >> from all the songs they pick this one !!!!

  • ya hawlaaaa! longest video ever! but ya, mashallah!

  • Salam Scorpious this is sliding girl from SDB

thanks for uploading this it's nice albeit a bit over the limit for me :)

  • Beautiful dancing!

Question from an outsider (from Eritrea specifically); why is dance & elaborate/elegant movement of the body so looked down upon in the Horn? Some movements here remind me of the bejas in Eritrea (Hidarebs, Harendoa, etc.), and it's beautiful to me. It IS our culture(s) and has always been. But a lot of ppl get fanatically mad about it.

*shrugs* to me it's just the art to dancing & being proud of your culture.

  • @rtoriq btw I'm pretty sure the Beja tribe is a tribe that extends from sudan to Ethiopia and Eritria. In general, all east African cultures are pretty similar

  • al3ood 3amal lai waja3 raa9... what da hell????? nd the gurl on silver she can daance ;)

  • Mashallah girls, you did an awesome job portraying our alluring and for me forever fascinating cultural dance. As for all the negative comments your getting from people........well i dont really get it!! If they're so against it then i have a solution for them - DONT WATCH IT!!

  • tO show oFf..YAKH ,,,WO HER BEAUITY AND pHYSICAL SKILLS ...HAHHHHAAAAIA..KALAM LAKIN...she should tell that the pride dance only at the presence of her husband and ladies only..if you wanna tell and SHOW OFF your tradition then you better tell complete story and then you CAN LIKE IT,,instructer greeeb lakin!!

  • lakin originally in halfa the woman would dance infornt of men and it wasnt just for her husband it was for her husbands family to show them she has a nice body. They also used to do it naked wearing just a Hareem i think they call it, a belt thing around her hips/waist

  • Salam LaDy Tuti...the fact though it's happening in halafa doesnt qualify this tyoe of dancebe generalized as for all SUDAN. look the the name of the video!!!.the form of such type of dance exist widely in central area of sudan the so call Ga63 Alra7a6 and its very special that the bride dance infront of women and only the groom is allowed to attend it but no (MAN )else..

  • am not against show off ..of ladies part but am have my preservation in asene to WHOM these parts are shown!!!meaning here the very short dress (Gaksa fi 5a6 sitta)!!!!!!! and I guess am not neutral about showing off!! because of cultural infleunce and of course religous concepts!! its so beautiful I like it but am Jealous 100% and I dont accept some eyes eating the flesh of my sister or my wife if I have

  • Why do I find it difficult to belive that? Must be because during my nine years living in Sudan, I din't see a single woman on the street without a scarf

  • and what does that signify then?

  • That Sudanese people are very conservative and such a tradtion where women dance naked in front of men as LaDyTuti described does not fit at all with what I know about Sudanese people

  • ya akhwana alshogul da WAIN!!! we dail minoo dail....I mean the place of the performace!!

  • bent gabayel ur so jealous that ur lying to ppl cause ppl like it. stop lying they r 100%pure sudanese and 0%arab! stop lying!!

  • Exactly the origins are from Halfa

  • I love this group, and their instructor...I remember these dances at weddings :) I hope we can get this horrible Khartoum goverment out so ppl can be free.

  • @Nubiandove21 These dances are known :) u must live in a cave if u didnt know that, its like arabs have bellydance...we have ours too!!! the government doesnt control or ban ragsat al aroos, bridal dance! its out culture..they cant and wont ban it! it still takes place, its a bride's choice, my aunts did it!! looked gorgeous!!

  • Oh my goodness those are my grlz! The dances are from different groups...I know their dance instructor :) There are no Arabs...only Sudanese. Sudan will take a long time to heal from the genocide in the South/war and in the Nuba mountains, or Darfur, or the Building of Dams in Kadjbar in the Nubian north. One day we will overcome this evil goverment.

  • I would love to study and learn more about this. Thank you.

  • OMG i love this video it reminds me of my wedding day when I danced!

  • what tribe are these performers?

  • arab sudanese who think that they are "modern" .. cause not every father allows his daughter to dance in such clothes in front of men!!

  • Beautiful dance, I loved it

  • Great to see this! I hope this tradition doesn't totally die out as it would be a shame.

  • This is so rich. Aiy. The music is sweet and the dance routine is good but it looks too privately and feel a little bit guilt. Voyeuristic. Just joking great video.

  • this is obviously not performed in Kht, right?

  • I don't get you, Kht?

  • Kht is a short-form for Khartuom. So my questions or rather curiosity was whether these dancing event was performed outside Khartoum or sudan in general. Your thoughts?

  • in uk

  • I really don't know if such dance routine can still be performed in Khartoum. I am not a Sudani but I like sudanese music, songs and culture in general. I just stumbled on it while watching other clips of sudanese music. Years ago I had sudanese friends and although the regime applied islmic law, the sudanese people i met used to dance, sing and have fun. It's in their blood.

  • I love this. I see it as a contemporary rendition of a traditional dance. It was presented with dignity style and grace. I congratulations for presenting it to us. I would love to study and learn more about this. Thank you.

  • nice nice nice nice nice nice nice Job ya Tamaadoor ........MASHALAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH,,, NICE JOB i LOVE u so much....

  • you know what, i understand your concern but this is a truly beautiful and is so full of culture that real shows off our Rich sudanese culture that loves life and is very glamorous & skillful, thank you

  • thanks for posting. I think the only hope some dances have of survival is to be performed in a public stage. Also, it is the only way to educate someone like myself of dance such as these. Besides they are good dancers. Too bad it is not too popular because it is a cool dance.

  • nowadays arab are ashamefull of any muslim where ever go , slaves of them amercian that's what u R, show us U pure bloody hitler\arab that u could raise ur head high without islam. we know who made once the great nation ever , without it Ur back again to slavery

  • WHY ARE YOU GUYS MAKING THIS VIDEO AN ARABIC/AFRICAN RACE ARGUMENT?its a sudanese bridal dance from the north. It does not apply to all of sudan, because sudan has more than 100 different tribes that have different traditional dances. IF ur confused study the history of sudan and u'll know.STOP BEING IGNORANT!!!

  • sudanese doesn't wear clothes lik that

  • off course they do

  • Sudanese and PROUD!

  • You made it very well to upload this! I understand Your concerns, but many European pople would not have any chance to see Your beautiful culture otherwise...thank You!

  • Interesting, i always wondered where the Gulf people got the golden head chain from. Its very popular there now and brides still wear it.

  • very well performed! im half sudanese and im proud of our beautiful bridal dance!

  • sorry guys, i didn't mean in the last comment((insect) it was a spelling mistake i actually mint (Insisting of being African) in my previous comment

  • wal al5ayeb da kaman ga3id e3zif fe ragees 3ros e5s 3la rjoltak

  • wow i am eritrean and or wat u guys call habesha well anyways all of u sould stop talking about arabs and africains u r all africains so just be proud that u r guys should be ashamed of your selfs to be talking like that to each other we should be kind and nice to each other instead of arguing expecialy u arabs who cares if its a sacred dance how long is it sapose to stay sacered have u thought about that well anyways i show videos of eritrea and wat the 9 ethnic groups r and even muslims dance.

  • there r different types of muslims some r very deep and some r normal and some r lighly like will someone explain to me y when ever theres a wedding women and men dont dance together and y the women cover there face and hair thnx if u answer this question

i would like to know where was this event held at?

and who is that lady who spoke in the end?

  • hi QUEEN MARIN...ido't know where are u living? but i am at alkhrtoum, and this days the most important event on the wedding(regardings the bride)is the braidal dance, and very popular among doctors and very educated females.and a prestigious event..

and if u visit al sudan let me know, iwill invite you to watch one..

  • Thank you for posting this video and showing the world our beautiful culture =)

  • AMAZING thank you soo much for that post!!!

  • wow wallahi thats funny sudanese girls gone wild! us sudanese girls don't really dance like that but props for trying 2 show ur culture.

  • are you sure ur sudanese?? hun this is ragees 3aroos, the do dance like this after weddings, in sort of an afterparty called Jirtik, but its enclosed for only women and the groom, any of this sound familiar??

  • Yes LaDyGhEtOz, it looks familiar, don't get me wrong, I 'm Sudanese I was born in Sudan and I spent all my life in Sudan, I 'm 39 years old and I remember this very well they used to do it in public and in more revealing dress I understand ur concern but that the truth

  • Beautiful!...Hanan Abdelkarim abdullah is singing something similar to this.

  • thanx for posting.

  • انتو ياجماعه البنات دول ماعندهم ابوات ولا اخوان

    حاجه عجيبه

  • this is sudanese culture , and it is important to show your cultre

    it is nice turas

i do not see anything wrong

    fifi singaweia

  • Meraviglioso!Beatiful!

    Sli

  • this is african culture it's even older the the arabic culture. it nubian culture.

the the africa you see on tv does not represent all. sudan is distinct from other culture for the many kingdoms it had/has

  • oh wow. this is beautiful. i didn't know Sudan have culture. I am still confused. I thought Sudanese are Africans and not Arabians. what happen to your traditional dances.and i am sure traditionally these girls wont wear european dresses. they looked more beautiful with the wraps around their waist. Becareful not to loose your culture to the Europeans. you can wear these dresses to weddings but not to do your traditional dance- wow. it's nice to watch but dissappointing of the sudaneses

  • sudanese are not arabians. these dances are not arabic they are traditional and so are the songs and drums. the only arabic influence is pretty much language the songs are sung in now

  • its hard to say that all sudanes are not arab, we have our arab groups and afrikan grups and noba groups and habshas groups , so its unfair to say that, and arabs are allready diffrent, they are all the same, with aksent and food and dancing, im a arab from sudan, and im broud of that, and love it

  • Sudan is a mixture of many ethnic groups, Our skin colour vary from fair white to the darkest of the dark.. there are arab sudanese as well as african sudanese..At the end of the day the key word is SUDANESE.

NOT ALL SUDANESE PPL DO THIS."The Wraps" as u called is called toab & during the bridal dance the bride removes it,to show off her dance abilities in front of her groom & their attending family & friends (only ladies of course) since this region of sudan is mainly muslims..

  • Sudanese people are most definately not arab, they are africans and as k8a001, the thing theyve pretty much adopted is the language- but food, culture, dance etc all differ.

there are obviously some mixed sudanese pple who maybe be part arab etc-their the light skinned ones.

The sudanese culture is extremely old and beautiful-much has been lost-however it is good to see that some are still holding steadfast to some of the traditions.

  • I specifically said that there are both arab and african sudanese.. i am an arab sudanese, even if all my ppl took from the arabs was the religion and the language, i'm still an arab native or as many would call themselves afro-arabs... i am very proud of my sudanese cultures, foods ,clothing & everything.. i think we have a very great diversity in sudan that is not found in many other countries.. which makes sudan like a whole different continent :D

  • Comment removed

  • dunno why all this complaines on this video, its just a simple women dance, well gurls who are complaining here, i swear that u like to attend these parties and you wish to perform it in your weddings, just remove this fakeness!!

  • ell, im pure sudanese girl, and yes its a part of the culture which we are proud of, and this is only example!! how do u want other communities to know ur culture if u are hiding it,, i agree and we want to show all our beautiful traditional to others, although in real life we ofcourse will not dance in front of men..

  • Hiyaahh =]

I'm from Kassala, where r yooh from? =]

  • where was dis performed?

  • ana sudanya .i think our culture is more than beautiful but we do this culture habbit in certin circomfrencecs and even brother of thos women r bervent from attend sutch things not prodcast it over the world so al 7eshma is part of us tooo ,sorry for all muslims sudanese wommen becouse this vedio give a fules idea about you!!!!

  • To michuw: continiunt from my reply, or brother

  • Great,fantastic.

  • Shame on You girls!!! You may as well take the rest off!!

I am English and have been to Sudan several x and this is NOT Sudanese Bridal dance, as the dance is for THE BRIDE ONLY. NOT AN AUDIENCE OF MEN Subhanalla. You must remember you are representing your Country and if you Muslameen you represent your Deen. WAKE UP GIRLS!!!, May Alla forgive you

  • This dance isn't even supposed to be danced in front of men except your father, brothers, uncles, and husband. Besides just because they are Sudanese that doesn't make them Muslim.

  • I know, it's haraam to wear these things infront of men, r u a convert? Because u used Sudhanallah, so Mashallah sister =]

  • this is really great and thanks a lot for the outhor of this showing our culture which is really beautiful,I do not care for thoes who disagree thoes who want us to live in the dark for ever
