  • Thats the weirdest squat video on Youtube.

  • I can squat 160 kg.

  • Very nice. How are there so many a**holes giving this guy thumbs down? I know we're all used to seeing Ronnie Coleman and Branch Warren squat a million pounds, but this dude is damn strong and deserves respect.

  • Asian of course..

  • Good form, good weight. Your legs are looking strong. GJ!

  • what do you have in your face?

  • nice thick build bro keep it up. u look excellent.

  • wearing a knee strap might not be a bad idea.

  • Shouldn't be wearing a belt...

  • @vjohn82 Why not?

  • @ArentWeSpecial Better to allow your back to build the muscle for posture. A belt offers a false sense of security and, in all my time of weightlifting, I have never seen them totally prevent an injury.

  • @vjohn82 I'm going to respectfully disagree here. The purpose of a belt is not necessarily to prevent injury, and it's not true that it prevents the back from getting strong, just the opposite; wearing a belt properly will allow heavier weights to be handled, which means the trunk muscles get stronger (including the back), which means the whole body gets stronger. The strongest men in the world wear belts for just this reason. Sorry for the brief explanation, but 500 characters is not much space

  • @ArentWeSpecial It's nothing but gym folklore... check out Stuart McGill, author of Ultimate Back Fitness and Performance & Low Back Disorders - completely destroys the argument for wearing a belt UNLESS you have previously suffered a back injury

  • @vjohn82 I had a look around that website and gleaned what I could, but I don't see anything to address the fact that wearing a belt will allow your trunk musculature to get stronger. This allows heavier loads to be handled, which allows the whole body to get stronger, and this is the reason we wear them. However, the stronger trunk muscles that you get from wearing a belt also stabilize the spine and prevent injury, which is a nice added benefit.

  • @ArentWeSpecial It's not a website... it's a book but a snippet on Weight Belts can be found in the Articles section

His summary and advice is ".... given the assets and liabilities of belt wearing, I do not recommend them for healthy individuals either in routine work or exercise participation."

  • @vjohn82 I found a PDF titled "On The Use of Weight Belts" by McGill, and had a look at it. We are coming at it from two different perspectives. He is asking whether wearing a belt is an effective way to prevent injury in normal people, and the answer is "probably not". I am asking whether a properly used belt is an effective way for a trainee to get stronger, and in my experience (and the multi-decade experience of many strong people) the answer is definitely "yes". (To be continued...)

  • @vjohn82 Part 2) Now, since I took your advice to look at McGill's work, please have a look at two short articles about belt wearing by Justin Lascek, who coaches at WFAC (Mark Rippetoe's gym).

Go to 70sbig dot com and after the / type ?p=884 for part 1 and ?p=891 for part 2.

Disclaimer: Mr. Lacsek, being from Texas, is much more blunt and direct, compared with my polite, limp-wristed Californian ways.

(Btw, saw your comment on The Pope Needs a Miracle, and I agree wholeheartedly)

  • @ArentWeSpecial Justin Lascek is a little blunt isn't he? Haha... I have read it and I appreciate the argument from both sides. I don't think a belt will benefit me in the long run but thanks for pointing me to the link :)

  • @ArentWeSpecial Your both wrong, a weight belt is more of a reminder to keep your lower back arched witch is the way the spine forms a solid column and allows you to lift heavy loads safely.Yes you can squat without a belt. If im squatting while wearing a belt and I lean foward out of position I will feel/notice it because the belt will not feel the same on my abdomen and lower back. It really doesent do mutch more than that.

  • @xXFocusRecord If you don't notice much difference with a belt, then you're either squatting with the bar high on your traps, like most people do, or not squatting heavy enough for it to matter. But in a powerlifting-style squat with the bar low on the back (just over the spine of the scapula) the trunk muscles are much more involved, and wearing a belt will have a marked effect. Same is true of heavy pressing or deadlifting. The first time you train with a belt correctly, the abs get very sore

  • @ArentWeSpecial All I know from experience with belts is there not going to protect you from hurting your spine, you must always keep your lower back arched and contracted. If the spine bends forward with the weight of the load on it you can hurt it BAD!

  • Really good and strong lifts. But I've seen you do just as much weight at benchpressing, what's up with that?:) You must at least do 220 kg at squatting or what? Sick-ass muscles in the legs. Respect!:)

  • damn chen

  • uum.... sars?

  • Sugoi!

  • lol doesnt he squat to low? i mean thats like to good or somthing.. =P

  • NO MAN ITS PERFECT

  • hes doing deep squats good for over all.

half just focus mainly on the hamstrings

  • that dude i smart and strong haha bronze and brains, hes strong and he has like the belt and like pads on his shoulder so it wouldn't hurt his shoulders but i dont know wat the mask is for

  • the Mask is Oxygen mask,i;ll help you to keep going,i dont think he can do it without mask, who care anyway

  • he is scared of swine flu....lol

  • Who cares why the guy is wearing a mask?

The squatting is nicely done in my opinion, the belt is keeping him from getting injured unnecessarily and means the guy is thinking !!

  • Uh, why is he wearing a mask?

  • good lift, well done!

  • boo fuckin hoo hes wearin a belt who gives fuck thats some nice squattin there all you haters are just sayin that cause youre jealous and depressed about your own pathetic numbers.

  • Yeah, its much better to throw your back out, after all, you're the expert. That's why no powerlifters use belts too.

  • antdogtu ur the dumbest human being alive maxing out squating u need a belt or eventually ur goin to get hurt so dont go off cryin because u got a hernia by the way if u really did do it when u were 14 u should be a fuckin animal and go to USC or something but if ur bullshittin way to look like an ass

  • this is fuckin wierd

  • How about some of you haters put your own clips on youtube???

  • Why are you trying to hide your face? All asians look alike anyways. lol j/k j/k G'job! But still funny.

  • this video is funny

  • wow i hit a 380 squat and im 14, no steriods,no suppliments, and no weightbelt

  • wow. now maybe you should hit the gym and find out just how much 380 lbs really is.

  • oh very funny, that hilaruous jackoff,

i did, i hit it twice, dont believe me if you want, but im just saying, its really easy if i can do it.

  • i was squatting that when i was 5

  • @WTFJagoff , that is 380, he has 25 pound plates before the 3 , 45lb plates

  • lol hey dumbass no belt AKA no brains is stupid and i wont believe that till you put up a video of it you cocky little fuck

  • it sounds like runescape music

  • Great Job.

  • I was able to squat 400 pounds when I weighted around 170. They only type of supplement I took was 2-3 whey protein shakes a day in between meals.

  • i dont mean that in a bad way, just a little tip, lower the weight a bit and with the bar on your traps without the protection thing, after a few workouts use ur normal weight again and it wont hurt on traps ;D

  • i see lots of haters shouting steroids. Really?? i seen bigger guys that are natural... Plus lifting 160kg is not an indication of steroid intake. just hard and proper training/nutrition.

  • I concur. but you can't honestly say anybody is natural unless you are watching them 24/7. most everybody claims to be natural, but in 20 years of lifting, most honestly are not totally natural. Who would admit to cheating.

  • Bird flu?

  • Whats with the mask ? did someone let rip ?

  • that aint shit i can do double and rep it

  • this all looks like a nightmare i had once.

  • I have to say lol to that one

  • Nice legs

  • his technique is excellent!yee good tehnique!keep working!NICE!

  • squats...the secret

  • Impressive

  • Do you have a cold and not want to share it?

  • no its saars

  • Super faggy music there . Good lifts . I believe he is natural . Short legs and he is huge by no means .

  • impressive

  • lol we can see your face in your other videos

  • What's with the Megaman song in the background?

  • nice legs

  • i keep expecting a turkish kebab shop owner to enter the screen, this music wud ruin my concentration!!!

  • this boy probably IS natural, he aint exactly huge and ripped. besides 355 squat is respectable but not beyond anyone that trains hard and consistently. he has typical chinese thighs- short, squat and muscular. look at michael cheng the tennis player, same thing.

  • talk me thru the fabric over ur mouth, im lost.

  • Lol, I have seen many squats like that NATURAL!

  • he is the perfect example that steroids really do work.

  • i agree when was the last time you saw a big asian dude.. also his kness are coming out over the top of his toes on them squaats poor technique sacrificed for heavier weight

  • that is olympic squat.

  • his technique is excellent.

  • his technique is excellent. +1

  • you see muscular asian guys as often as you see muscular and lean white guys. Stop yelling steroids, if he is using he should be ashamed of his numbers.

  • I agree. The NHL has asian guys like devin setoguchi, paul kariya, and richard park. Those dudes are really skilled players. I'd rather people be skinny, fit, and healthy. Not obese and ravage the health care system dry.

  • uhmmm how bout you not be a bitch and use that lil thing for your neck

  • You ever try squatting 100+ w/o that thing?

    Hurts like a bitch.

  • Where is the cap @ mouth for ??

  • si ca c'est pas du bon gros mytho, lol.
