question...if you have a high or low tear...instead of adjusting your nock point, could you just move your rest up or down?? I'm new to all this so any help is appreciated!!
How far do you stand from the paper, because when I'm like 4 feet away i get a perfect hole, but if i step back to 8 feet I get a nock low, nock left tear? Thanks!
I am shooting the PSE Omen. Short brace height. How does this affect paper tuning? I am getting a consistant 7 O'clock low left hit. My rest is center shot and nock is 1/4" high. Using the HD Ultra rest. Sprayed it with foot poeder and there are NO marks on the rest anywhere. Still getting the low left tear. Using the stiffest spine possible. Tried different point weights. Shooting great groups just not good flight at 5' while paper tuning. Any suggestions? Thanks! Rich
Often I find a high tear is corrected by moving the nock point UP. I theorize this is caused by the rear of the arrow colliding with the rest and bouncing upwards. Fletch contact causes most poor tears and is hard to diagnose. Coating the arrow rest with a marking medium such as lipstick will reveal way more than coating the fletching. Draw the bow THEN place the arrow on the rest. When all is tuned correctly, the only marks will be where the front of the arrow sat on the rest before release.
ive been trying to paper tune my bow and my arrows fly through the paper inconsistant sometimes they will be perfect bullet holes other times they will be left right or every other what should i do
@paintballs30 could be underspined arrows, could bow torque, coulb be rest fletching contact...i would say take it to a bowshop tech and get it lined out rite
yes but its different ... this is used mostly in compounds to know how to move your rest or knock point ... in a recurve you probably need to adjust just the nocking point ..but idk im more of a compound bow

The shorter the brace heigth/distance the harder a bow is to paper tune. It may never paper tune. Distance to paper tune 10'-15' is good.

@jumpthenoob Yes you tune with all rests. It does not matter what type.

@ paintballs30
If you can get bulletts and then you sometimes get left OR right, its somply a release issue. Bow sounds tuned.
