  • Have you used the foam cannon from autogeek? It's waaaayy better. I have the gilmour gun but after using the cannon with my karcher, it's just been collecting dust. Less product, REAL foam and a full bottle will last for about 4-6 uses. Oh ya, that dp extreme is fantastic in the cannon, check out the video on autogeek.

  • @n9780857 I've known about the foam cannon for years. It is a much better foaming machine but it is not something that I can use because I wash my car INSIDE my garage. That way, nothing dries on the car until I am ready for it to dry because my garage is a controlled environment. I also have a 3" drin inside my garage so there is never any standing water to worry about. The foam gun is all I need..

  • What do you use inside the foam gun?

  • @krapdavid Adam's Car Shampoo. In this video, I was using DP Extreme Formula.

  • were can i buy this??

  • @bettyturcol Autogeek or Amazon. It's called the Foamaster by Gilmour.

  • @bettyturcol

    you can buy from me....email : mandirimaju@hotmail.com

shipping DHL / EMS / UPS, etc

  • was that a little bit of a smile at 0:51 lol- love the vids JM

  • @vaporeizied8 No, that was my concentration face. It appears outta nowhere when I'm seriously concentrating on my car. :)

  • In your garage, mate...?

  • @sweetlikeADAM Exactly! I have a 3" drain right smack in the middle of the floor. The water drains off so fast that the floor is dry shortly after I finish washing. It's heated too!

  • @Junkman2000 Lucky...

  • I need to get a foam gun!!

  • @J1Z06 I just added a half-gallon foam gun to my collection. I got it off eBay.

  • @Junkman2000 now: do you wash the car after it is foamed? i am guessing the foam gets the loose dirt off...then you wash the car?

  • @J1Z06 Watch my 2-bucket wash video series. It explains everything.

  • hey junkman, what's the difference between the gilmour foam master and the foam master 2? i am looking specifically at the Gilmour 75QGF4 Foamaster Cleaning Gun and the Gilmour 95QGFMR Foamaster II Cleaning. also, what do you use for the foam? i have the wolfgang autobathe. is that ok for the foam gun or do i need something else for the foam gun? thanks

  • @pzero7 I don't know what the difference is between the two guns because I can't find a definitive example of the Foam Master. As for soap, I use either the Adam's car wash of the DP Extreme, which is what I was using in this video.

  • Hey junkman, what do you think about mixing some all purpose cleaner (meguiars apc for example) and car wash soap in the foam gun? Have you ever tried this?

I was gonna do this to the lower half of my car, just to break down the road film prior to washing, should I try 1:1:2 one APC, one Soap, two water or will this be to much APC

  • @69chevymaro I wouldn't try that at all! That stuff would strip all the wax off the car.

  • @Junkman2000 I forgot to add that I would only do this on the days that I'm gonna detail and re wax the car any way, I know it will remove the wax but I don't wanna harm the paint at all

  • @69chevymaro Coolio.

  • junkman I'm still confused. DO you use this to shoot the foam on the car then rub it down with your wash mitt? or do you foam it, let the foam sit, then rinse it off. Using the foam as a "pre wash" or as the "main" wash?

  • @jeffzahnd Take a trip over to Adam's Forums and look for "The Junkman's Corner". Over there you will find a how to on restoring paint. I discuss the foam gun and how it is used in my scheme in detail. The entire 10 video series is a must see. You can't just watch my videos from You Tube, you need to read the text associated with the videos in the threads where they are posted.

If you don't, you will end up with questions like yours. I get that a lot so you're not the first.

  • @Junkman2000 What a rude answer! If you don't believe your videos in isolation communicate well enough, then either improve them or don't post them. Implying that someone has made an error in 'not the first' to trouble you with queries is incredibly arrogant. For a rank amateur, many of your comments demonstrate that you have an inappropriately high opinion of yourself.

  • @MKRM27

What the hell are you talking about? What rude answer? At least refer to whatever you are talking about before blasting me about something that I don't have a clue to.

  • @Junkman2000 You have to go to Peter's Forum, reading my comments in isolation won't make any sense. I get it a lot you are not the first. Unless of course you have the sense to read the comments in thread order, where is will be patently clear which comment was being referenced.

  • @MKRM27

So you come to my channel and pick out a random video out of 90+ to blast me on something I have no clue as to what you're talking about, then you refuse to direct me to the post? Who the hell is Peter? Do you have any idea how many detailing forums I post on? No, you obviously don't. If you want to discuss something like this, use the email function. I don't need you clogging up the comments section with this crap.

  • Junkman,

Are the foam guns worth the money? The reason I am asking is because I have been considering one for a while, just havent made the purchase. My Black Pearl Civic Si is kept fairly clean, and when washed, I use Meguiars Gold Class with a microfiber mitt. Dried with Microfiber towels and typically followed by a quick coat of Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax.

I have looked at Adams stuff in the past and plan on making a purchase soon. Any reccomendations?

  • If you understood what the foam gun is used for, this would be a no brainer for you. The foam gun is used to raise the dirt and grime off the clear coat so that you can safely remove it during a wash. If you don't foam the car and raise that dirt off the clear coat, then you are grinding it into the paint; I don't care who's car soap you're using.

Improper washing of the car is when most of your swirls are created. If you are washing your car correctly, a foam gun is used in the process.

  • A foam gun is a very important tool in the washing process!

  • how much is for one of these foam gun? and what kinda foam is taht ? thanks

  • They run in the neighborhood of $50. The foam is nothing more than car wash soap (or Car Shampoo as Adam's calls it). The design of the foam gun causes the soap to foam up when you spray it.

  • hehe...ale buba..i cała piana na podłodze a nie na samochodzie heh....

  • Nazywana jest "wagi" jest mądry. W końcu, że to co robi mydło podczas rozpylania go na samochód.

  • is the whole wash touchless? jizz?

  • No, but that is the type of misconceptions that people get when they just watch my videos, but don't read the threads that they are posted in. The foam gun you see here is just one step in a multi-step process that I use to wash my car without scratching if to hell and back. You need to check out Adam's Forums for the complete story.

  • I wonder what happens if you put the car wash in neat and undiluted. Will you get thick 'shaving cream-alike' foam?

  • Does it work with pressure washer? if so, does it cover whole car nicely?

  • NO.

It is not a pressure washing device. Foaming a car raises and lubricates the dirt that is matted to the clear coat and makes removing said dirt safe without scratching the clear coat. All the power washing in the world does not remove that film. You have to actually touch it with a wash pad to remove it from the clear.

  • 1. The dilution ratio is 4:1

    2. Just like the title says, it was set to full foam. This uses a lot of product but the car is small.

    3. Adam's Car Wash.

  • Is the foam gun worth the cost in your opinion?

thanks and sorry for the multiple questions on your multiple videos!

  • No problem about the questions, ask away!

Yes, the foam gun is great, especially if a bird has crapped on your car, or your car sits out in the elements all day. You don't want to go and wipe anything across the paint with that embedded grit sitting on the car because that will create scratches and swirls. By foaming the car first, you allow the caked in grit to loosen up which will make it much easier to remove.

The foam gun is not for powering dirt off the car, it's for soaking it off.

  • first off. nice vette. I have a question. I am lazy and I hate manually washing cars, but I want my car to be clean. Can I get a foam gun and a pressure washer and just foam and then rinse the car and have a nice clean car without having to do hard work?

  • The short answer is NO. If you want the car clean and scratch free, you are going to have to do it the way I do in my videos. If you want it clean and don't care about all the swirls, drive it through a car wash.

    I shudder at the thought.

  • thanks for the reply. Well It's my commuter car. I want it to be clean and shiny, but it doesn't have to be perfect, cuz i drive it in NH winters and it gets exposed to all the elements. Every time i wash it, it's filthy within a week. So I was trying to think of a way to quickly and easily wash it once a week so it's always looking good. of course when i get my toys, (vettes, classic stangs etc), i'll garage them and never expose them to the elements and I'll wash them the proper way.

  • For what it's worth, I never wash my daily driver regardless of how dirty it gets. It would be a total waste of time. The foam gun would be a total waste of money for you because you are not wanting to do all the other steps involved. It would equivalent to putting a $10,000 paint job on a 68 VW Bug without doing anything else to the car.

Do the car wash thing and save your money.

  • yeah, don't even know how much foam guns, pressure washer etc cost. I just thought it's expensive to spend $5 a week at a carwash. I could do it in my driveway, but that doesn't solve my laziness/time problem. I just don't like taking too much time and effort to clean something that will be rained on / salt sprayed on etc within a couple days. But i want to keep it clean looking. So im looking for an easy, fast and cheap way to wash the car so i can do it frequently.

  • hey kwg, have you found a solution to your cheap and frequent washings?

  • Since no one has said it - do not put a pressure washer anywhere near a car ... even a "daily driver". Here's why: let's say you have a micro chip from a rock. One you can't see. The pressure washer likely will open it up more. Clear coat paint, near a chip, will tear away with a pressure washer. Your daily driver will last longer, and be worth more at tradin if you are gentle with washes.

  • Cool!
