It looks like a twist on Jaco's Havana solo where he trades between the d and g strings on open and closed notes going up the neck.... don't get me wrong, Jaco has always been my number two to Jeff, but looks like he's experimenting here ;)
Jeff swings his hair back and says, "Watch this baby." Then he plays something only he understands, the woman gives him a pitty laugh, and Jeff Berlin walks away thinking, "Butt-cut, sweat pants, man-boobs and the bass.....gets 'em every time."
@Anon4this1 - one of our comments apparently made people laugh and/or enjoy themselves (hint: the one with the thumbs up) The other one made the writer look like a band nerd sitting in a dark, parentally supervised basement wearing dingy underwear.
and thanks for bringing more attention to my wittiness.
Amazing as usual! I've learned about advanced harmony through transcribing your records. I'd like to see more videos like this, and I would eventually like to attend the Players School. Thanks for the music!
Do you have anything you could post from The Players, one of my all time favourite fusion bands: Jeff Berlin, Scott Henderson, Steve Lavitz and Steve Smith.

Attention all Haterz(tm):
If you don't know who Jeff Berlin is, then don't comment.
If you don't have any music featuring Jeff Berlin, then don't comment.
If you've never played a musical instrument in your life in front of more than three people, then don't comment.
Any questions?

His style reminds me a little bit of Jaco's, but not his tone.

Jeff Berlin, a magic name.
His solo on "Water on the brain, PT.II" is and will be mind boggling forever...
Hope to see him once

Awesome playing as always. Jeff Berlin = simply the most important bassist to have picked the instrument up.
I think I have easily learnt more about music from Jeff than any other influence over the last 30 yrs.
The master!
