I liked how fast and nicely you modeled those armor-shoulders. I watched this video randomly but i think i'll watch your whole tutorial. There's much i can learn from this x)
Hi, I have a problem. when I animate my character the textured color doesn't show. its still in solid but its in textured form. how can I permanently save the color to the character mesh?
Whenever I texture my stuff the textures only visible on one side of the object. And my character has long hair so when you look at it from the front you can't see the hair at the back, to see it you have to have the camera on the other side. How do I stop this.
Very nice but how are you going to animate that with the seperate objects? Ive made a commando style warrior with seperate blades and animating was quite annoying because i had to animate the sword motion seperate from the main model
Whenever I try to texture my person by importing my edited texture file (png), it opens up, but it won't apply to my 3D model, in fact, my whole model just turns out all black when I change from wire-frame mode to Textured mode. How would you suggest me to get my colored textures applied? Please help me because so far all of your tutorials have been a great help for me (considering I knew nothing about 3D modeling in Blender until I looked @ your tutorials). Thanks if you can answer this question
@davidie123 Firstly make sure you have a lamp so that you can see the textures (it turns out black without a lamp) and if you have GLSL turned on then you need to add the texture under the textures option
I love the beginning of this tutorial. "You there! Are you ready to texture? Alright, let's begin!"
I love how teaches you how to use Blender. Its simplistic yet he doesnt hold your hand. I hate tutorial videos where they explain things like you have a learning disability.
I am having a weird issue with Blender. I cant seem to place it on an external montior (I use 2 monitors) If I move it over to the external monitor the program becomes unusable but if I drag it back it works fine lol.
@silkyskeeter your video card isn't up to it. Things like blender do a lot of the 3d rendering in your video card to try to spare your processor. Split screens also tax your video card, so it's just not up to doing both (and is probably having a hard time just using Blender in the first place). 3D rendering is one of the hardest things you can do on your computer, as far as the computers concerned. :)
@BillyAteMySoul -_- Its not my graphics card. Works fine with 3DS Max and Maya2011 (with thousands of polygons and textures on the screen) as well as Zbrush. And I found out it WAS an issue with the version of Blender I was using and worked fine when I used 2.5 (but 2.5 has its own share of issues as well. Not as many as 2.4 but, yeah) Eitherway that comment was months ago. Barely even use Blender anymore.
I love these tutorials. It makes modeling in blender so much fun. If I had known that blender was free and easier to use. I wouldn't have bought shade 8.5 standard.
Only thing I don't like about shade is there are no English speaking shade masters.
how do you get the lighting or whatever set up so that you get such a nice flat cel shaded look? I've been fiddling around with stuff, but I can't work out how to get it like you have it. D:

I like it, it shows again that 3d software is not only to create realistic stuff, you can still have fun with with.
Keep up the good work, it's inspiring.

Turn off OSA on the render tab, set all the materials to Emit 1.0, and remove the lights.
I'll tell you more in depth in MSN.
