  • If I got a scratch on that i'd have to go on a killing spree...

  • You must be deaf gittahfiend. This great guitar has a raunchy humbucker sound. It's a very nice vintage instrument. I would like to have one of these.

  • Nice looking guitar,

but why it produces so much noise?

  • I remember when they came out seen mostly bass ones around at the time

  • how much wud that cost??

  • What the heck is that thing? Like what brand is that?

  • what heck where are the cables that are supossed to be inside of the guitar?

  • a guitar without wood is like rock n roll without long hair

  • it almost looks like zacky vengeance's guitar.

  • which song is that ??

  • it would suck if you droped it, it would smash to little bits.

  • Doesn't glow in the dark?

  • nice...gotta do CYHMK with open G mate!

  • I always liked the built in vibrato neck - you have to be careful holding them still. :)

  • @joebentry lol You speak the truth! Not sure if the newer reissues are like that or not but the first ones from the 60s sure are.

  • Is this in open g tuning?

  • Still this is a vintage guitar! :)

  • Dave Grohl used one of these didn't hie?

  • never cared for the clear. lol

  • Very cool looking axe! Where do they sell them? I've never seen one.

  • Almost like Joe Perry's but his is purple

  • Check out your wires, buddy :)) . It hums terrific.

  • what a coincidence hes wearing a shirt that matchs his guitar

  • I think Skunk Baxter plays one of those too

  • Friggin' cool gee-tar!

  • Shoulda played some Black Flag...

  • You guys are commenting so much about the tone but remember, its not just the guitar your hearing. Its also the amp and the video cam. The amp I used had no low end. And as for the video cam. Just check out my other videos. All the guitars and amps I demo have the same nasty tone.

  • @JohnnyAquanet

sounds fine and the tonal character is there as used by Richards, put it in a band context and all the frequencies sit just right with the other instruments... I have one, same year and with the original case with the New York sticker on it. I use mine for slide mainly. Heavy old beast.

  • @tedplaysguitar Yes they are heavy but some LP's and my ES 355 weigh more. I love these, you have to have one to get it.

  • i still dont like the tone

  • I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds terrible

im sure its great for hanging it on a wall

  • @96FenderTele It doesnt sound that good to me either. Maybe for really hard, cold metal type music, but the lack of warmth and resonance just makes it seem kinda, idk, "flat" to me, if that makes any sense. Not like musically flat like a flat note, just cold.

  • What song is he playing?

  • @bender00009 cant you hear me knocking from the stones the only thing is that he plays it in standard tuning instead of open-g so and with standard you actually cant play that song properly

  • i will have that same guitar that Dave Grohl had in All My Life

  • is that 7 string

  • @thesmithsmad just look at the head stock and count the pegs

  • I own one from the same year. I know Keith had work done on his at Mannys in New york. I think the tone sounds great. I bought a Gibson sonex in the mid 80's second hand for hardly anything and it looked like a regular Les Paul style and felt great but it was made from resin. I wish I still had it. I played the new Dan Armstrong and its identical. There are some really cheap les paul style perspex guitars for under a hundred quid and with a bit of modification they look and sound great X

  • those things were a look cool item.they sound terrible because there's no wood in them.the basses were the same....all look and no tone.but they do look groovy though,

  • @music8stuart They sound just as good or just as bad as a wooden guitar. We are talking about solid body electrics here...not acoustics.Check out the 20th aniversary jem.Acrylic body but plays like a jem cause it was constracted like one.Material plays such a miniscule part in the sound that you wouldnt be able to recognize it if all the other factors were the same.

  • @Dreamdancer11 I have to humbly disagree with that. Material is one of the biggest factors in the overall sound of a guitar. I've had guitars that ranged from plywood to maple and you could easily tell the differences between the woods. Acrylics and aluminums sound much different from wooden bodies.

  • i want to play this guitar naked

  • why does people press 'dislike button'? i think this is nice..

  • haha, 69...

  • Connect an earth lead between the volume pot and the bridge to kill that hum. Otherwise nice guitar.

  • where does the wire go O.o

  • nailed it

  • doesn´t sound bad, is that "can you her me knockin"

  • Did you use an amp or any pedals? The guitar is amazing!

  • Great sound.

  • Wanted one of these ever since I saw Rick Richards holding one on the cover of the Georgia Satellites' Keep the Faith. Awesome guitar.

  • This is Ampeg?

  • i love the look of this guitar. i really do.

  • this guitar has zero tone to me.

  • @gittahfiend Its the amp and video recorder that sound so bad. The guitar sounds pretty good, the pickup is like a humbucker.

  • @gittahfiend Every guitar has tone. Whether it be good or bad. They all have tone.

  • You must be nude to play this guitar!

  • with that guitar you always have to make sure your fly isn't open ....

  • Ebay! You can find the original ones as well as the reissues. The reissues are made to exact specs!

  • Please !! tell mee where you got that guitar from :( its like my dream guitar and i cant find it anywhere !

  • the good thing about this guitar is that if you wanted to smash it when your on a gig it would literally smash

  • where r the pickups??

  • Badass!

  • not to sound like a prick or anything, and the tone and shit is really good, but thats really not how you play that song

  • @LuckyMan118 open g and he is missing a good few notes in there

  • that has SUCH a vintage tone!

  • how much does it cost, man? (:

  • sweeeet bro...i want one SO bad

  • what is it made out of

  • @ravenx501 Plexiglas body, Wood neck, Formica pick guard.

  • @JohnnyAquanet NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I think he ment more like what wood.

  • @TheAlmostGod888 lol The only part thats wood is the neck, not sure what kind it is but it feels like a Fender Tele or Strat.

  • @JohnnyAquanet the headstock is a brown wood like color so im assuming the whole neck is made of rose wood

  • @mrnickolige the front of the head is "fake" wood like the pick guard. The neck wood s like a Tele or Strat color.

  • What kind of pickups does the Dan Armstrong have?

  • @HomeTownDaredevils: proprietary single coils or humbuckers, removable in a few seconds. they only have a thumb screw you loosen, slide out the pickup, then slide in the other one and lock it in.

  • One day I tried this guitar at a local music store, is really heavy.

  • the solo sounds like talkbox :D

  • I forget what is the name of this song, its on my mind but I cant remember the name.

  • @RollingStoneJarhead Can't you hear me knocking from Sticky Fingers.

  • @JohnnyAquanet Now that you say it I hear it...you were playing it a little fast and I didn't recognize it either

  • McCartney has one too.

  • this is going to sound really weird but....the guitar goes really good with what hes wearing....i sware im not gay..you just gotta look good when your holding/playing a guitar as amazing as that

  • @collierguitar it's the brown pickguard/brown shirt combo, dude!

  • @collierguitar I Should be naked when I play next time :D

  • @collierguitar what the hell man hahahaha

  • @collierguitar having fashion sense doesn't mean you're gay XD

  • Dude, you need to put that thing in open G tuning to get that song right. Try it... the riffs will fall right into your lap.

  • Can someone please explain why this guitar is is so many music videos? Its always been a mystery to me...

  • greta sound !!!

  • My God this guys skin is lighter than the wall...

  • tab-rock!

  • hmm it sounds alright but i wonder what this would sound like compared to a wood body with the same amp settings and pickups

  • Sounds good.

  • I own one of these and my band does screamo. It sounded just fine thru an Orange Thunderverb head, but I changed the humbucker to an EMG active one. Great tone.

  • @xXWaffleAngstXx how did you change it to an EMG cuz this thing only works with the special pickups

  • how would this sound doing screamo?

  • probably isnt suited for screamo. thats more for an ibanez, dean, or a jackson

  • @cherry8605 IIIIIIII dunnoooo man... the dan armstrong has wide tonal capabilities depending on what you're running it through. The guy from Chiodos used one once. But yeah you'd probably want the humbucker in there for heavier stuff like that.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 well dave grohl made it it sound pretty kick ass in all my life. Id check it out

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 Depensds if you have the humbucker or singelcoil put in it

  • awesome!
