  • Fact? there is only one relevant fact. That is a serious contender for the most misconceived, badly written and nonsensical piece of utter nonsense ever made.

The empty main character who "wants to go straight" but is still the 'ardest bloke in lahndan. But gets done by some kid he spared? Hackneyed and stupid.

The serial killer actor bloke, wtf.

The pathetic, laughable attempt at a complex relationship between the hero and bad guy.

    Beyond bad.

And I'm not a harsh judge of movies.

  • @boosra They should have followed the novel it was supposed to be based on. The kid wasn't actually spared, Mitch shot him in both knees, The actress was more the part of Gloria Swanson in "Sunset Boulevard", really far past her prime, and the Rolls was what the film exec. wanted aslo ala S-B. In the end of Monahan's novel, Mitch survives and goes on, leaving a trail of corpses in his wake. So why didn't Graham King GK films[who is British] leave the plot alone? Would like your opinion.

  • i read this novel!!

  • @SubtitleDave

My stupid post is of inestimably more cultural value to the world than this crime of a movie. As is yours.

  • One of the worst movies ever created.

When an American writes a movie about English people, bad things happen.

  • @boosra atleast give a real fact backing your illogical statement ya cunt.

  • @denizg6

If you mean the part of my statement about Americans writing movies about English people, I'll explain.

90% of American movies have no depth or characterization. Just a charmless good guy, psychotic bad guy, a clear good/bad divide, no dialogue, and all issues are solved by murder.

In the larger than life America portrayed in the movies it can work - its not a subtle country, so its stories aren't either.

However, transplant this style to an English setting and it becomes farce.

  • @boosra got one question for you.. watched Naked by mike leigh before

  • @boosra

On your UK, US film comment - Truer words could not be said.

Unfortunately American's will never understand these cultural differences, no matter how they're explained.

    Cheers mate.

  • Already ordered The Way Back from Amazon, err,pre-ordered. No word on dvd distribution contract from them either, on London Boulevard.?????

  • When is this going to open in the US? Even IMDB doesn't seem know! Come on Graham King how much longer, before we get to see this intense film?

  • @colinchick69 I don't think it's getting released in the US mate, but it's out on DVD soon so pick it up on amazon or something
