FYI Cesar is responding to the dogs in the same way that a pack leader would discipline the rest of the pack... Its much better than the other techniques that I have heard from and far less cruel... all dogs at some point have to know who's boss otherwise they develop problematic behaviours so if I were you I would study dog psychology before trying to soil someones reputation.
I'm not even going to dignify this video by watching the last 3 minutes of it. The first 3 minutes taught me everything I needed to know from it...that you're an idiot.
Just because dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, does not mean that they have evolved in some way which has provided them with some innate knowledge of language and rendered physical command redundant. Just because society chooses to anthropomorphise dogs, their emotions and intentions, does not mean this is how dogs think. These techniques are based on how dogs interpret and react to their surroundings, not how the majority of humans think they do.
You cant correct a negative behaviour when it doesnt exsist. You MUST provoke the problem behaviour in order to correct it.
Its kinda like when someone has a phobia, you cant correct the fear unless you confront the cause. You cant stand across a field from the dog, play with it,reward it for good behaviour and expect them to associate this training AT ALL to the bad behaviour they exhibit in a different environment.
What do you do to a human who is hysterical, slap them round the face. It snaps them out of it and brings them to their senses. Watch wild life program's and see how animals discipline their offspring then comment here.
They have thicker skin than humans do, especially around the neck area (to protect them with fights against other dogs). PS this is anatomy...not history
AND... the blue tinge to the huskys tongue is called cyanotic (it means the dog was hypoxic) caused from oxygen deprivation. IN LAYMENS terms...the dog was sooo crazy he made himself pass out. All the dog had to do was relax and cesar released the tension on the lead. The dog will eventually catch on and not behave crazy!
Ive been in the vet med field 14 years.YOU have obviously never been bit, ur not a dog behaviourist, and don't spend enough time with your dogs. OTHERWISE,u would know that Cesars methods are proven 2 work. U must be lucky with all your dogs...Cuz, I bet if you did have a problem dog,it would be out of control.Just how would YOU suggest fixin the husky from attacking passersby? Its like you keep dogging cesar, but dont have any suggested alternative methods of control.Get a life, and give this up!
@naisayd This link is NOT a professional response.
In response to : "They collapse and their tongue turns blue. Their respiratory rate is elevated as they try to breathe in more oxygen."
The respiratory "RATE" is not elevated (rate=decreased) the respiratory "EFFORT" is increased. AND " Is this dog relaxed when its laying on its side or is it recovering from a stressful event? " Actually when the brain is deprived of oxygen, it will pull O2 from the extremeties. Hence, no movement.
@AngiePhotoNut2 - It's not a professional response? Perhaps you feel that DOCTOR Sophia Yin, DVM, MS is not a qualified professional. Her CV is available on her web site. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Masters degree in Animal Science with emphasis on animal behavior. I think that qualifies her opinion has a professional opinion. Perhaps you might want to re-post your comments on her video. She may provide a more detailed explanation.
I guess I can understand how this person might feel, if this is all they were seeing. But he does not try to sneak in kicks like this video portrays - as you can hear in some of the clips here, he does explain that this is a touch, not an intense 'kick'. Only intense enough to get the dog's attention. This person obviously doesn't get the whole method. I'd trust Cesar's methods before many others.
The person who posted this video obviously has issues and should watch a few Cesar shows and would see that there is no aggression in what he is doing. He is simply snapping the dog out of whatever it is it's concentrated on or focused on or when behaving badly to call it back to order but non aggressively. He touches. Never kicks the dog. This is stupid.
he said (at 1:40 ) "you use your foot to firmly touch not kick" and thats all he does lol dogs used to kill other dogs in the wild and hunt, jesus over reacting people
do u really think this is kicking? if u do i suggest u get ur eyes tested because it is quite clearly nudging. anyone that says otherwise is just jealous of cesars way with dogs.
I dont normally get involved in these arguments but come on....this isnt kicking ! I think Cesar makes a lot of sense and has helped so many, people and dogs. Get a grip people who think this is abuse !
Stop being a heater... Cesar has helped so many people learn not only how but WHY their dogs misbehave. You can't solve the problem until you know the reason behind it. You're upset because he's "kicking" a dog? You'd rather let the dog continue until he bites a person and has to be put to sleep? It only takes 3, THREE bites and the dog must be distroyed by law. Go to a shelter and save a life, and get one of your own while you are at it!
:07 You actually have proved the opposite. You would never want to use this method targeting the ribs. The spot where Cesar heels the dog is at a soft point that won't bruise the dog. If you do that at the bones, you could injure the dogs tissue around the bones or the bones themselves. It doesn't take a neurosurgeon to figure that one out.
Anyone who thinks this method is animal abuse would think a rough, friendly pat on the dog's shoulders is too. Some people are too sensitive and don't understand what it takes to shake some dog's out of certain behaviors. Not all dogs require this method or require a very light intensity depending on how sensitive the dog is. This big protective breeds sometimes need very firm correction in order to establish yourself as boss. A tiny Yorkie? Maybe not so intense, just a light tap is all.
who ever made this video is is an uneducated fool when you have an over-aggressive dog that doent respond to a coomand what do you do let it maul you or be a proper human being and take hold of the situation..
Kicking dog = better than dog becoming aggressive towards others. Would I kick my dog? Nope. But my dogs wouldn't be mistreated or neglected to the point where they became aggressive. If he is not doing any lasting damage, I would argue that there is likely no new mental harm for a dog who had problems to begin with.
I do not think that he is the best trainer in the world but there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. I think he uses great words and phrases like energy and vibe, but I suppose they are ment for TV.
The more and more dogs you get to train the better you become, it is very hard to go into a home with a dog with a behaviour problem that some dumb ass created and correct it and then have the patience to explain it to the same people that created the problem. If it works for him great.
@vendov He is good with people and dogs. He informs the people they allowed the dog to take over. He does it nicely somehow! Then, he retrains the humans on how to handle their dog. I would probably get upset at how some people spoil their dogs into aggression. I'd be like, What were you thinking?? Cesar is great at his job and it's no wonder he has made a success out of himself.
Get a LIFE PEOPLE!!! He is NOT kicking the dogs! He is just correcting them and getting their attention with a foot poke! thats NOT a kick! If he KICKED the dogs, they would either bite him or cower and whimper! You cant deal with an out of control dog by sweet talking it! its an ANIMAL, not a person! it understands tone of voice, action and body language.
I thought this was brilliant compilation of a terrific dog training technique. Pop the puppy from behind with part of your foot to break its focus on something unproductive.
I agree, that was more like a kick than a "touch". But i do understand why he kick the dog. Cmon man, i rather hit a dog than being bitten & get some stains. about 80-90 percent dogs kicked in this video are about to attack human or another dogs, what do you suggest to do ?
Your not going to get fido to stop being aggresive by tellin him "Ok stop fido, please stop it fido, your being a bad boy fido" A lot of people get offended by people who hit dogs, however, what is more cruel? To beat a dog to get it to stop being aggressive or to take it to the pound because its out of control to be put down? Id rather hit an animal to get it under control than to put it down. Caesar is tryin to save dogs. Koehler might be cruel, yet he saved dogs through his methods. Just IMHO
The person that posted this video must surely be a lunatic! I'd like to see him / her take an aggressive dog and turn it into a social member of a pack. DOGS ARE NOT HUMAN. They cannot think reasonably and need guidance from a pack leader. They certainly do still have "wolf-like" traits even tho they are domesticated
It's easy to be a Hater!, It's a little more difficult to disagree with someone's methods and then to show some Constructive Alternatives! that work just as well!
The paragraph at the end of the video basically said that domestic dogs are not truly pack animals.... This is absolutely false. If you have ever owned multiple dogs you would realize that there is a hierarchy even in domestic dogs. I did not see one scene in this video that would be considered abuse.
One more thing. What Cesar says makes such sense. The way he does his pack leader the way he achieves dominance over the animal... This video I love: Daschund x Bulldog - Melissa e sua nova irmãzinha, Layla! Just cut and paste it in the You Tube search. It shows a puppy and an adult dog (dachshund) playing. The puppy bites the adult dogs (dachshund) ear and hurts the dachshund and you immediately see the dachshund get up and assert his dominance over the puppy. It's brilliant!
i agree with u. there is no need to hit ur dog in any way. as for Ceser i can really care less about him. sure he has a show but i have seen so many other shows and one that has been on far more chennels them him that has the dog acting far better then what he is able to do with out any type of hitting what so ever. so yea far as i seen from his shows he's not really a dog whisper just another abusive trainer.
You can't have a hard-headed, aggressive, obsessive dog and not use physical correction because you're worried it's "cruel" or don't want to "break its soul." There is no "cruelty" in the animal world. In the animal world, an aggressive/vicious dog is seen as weak and would be killed by others of its kind. A quick jut in the stomach (sensitive part) as a correction is not even close to many other methods people could use! I can guarantee CM is a better trainer than the person posting this video.
Speaking as a happy parent of an adopted dog that Milan's videos helped me get through the first insane couple of weeks... The videographer obviously does not have the temperament to understand or care for our canine friends. Dogs are not 4-legged people.
30 years of training sled dogs made me a pretty good trainer. Dogs that won't control their aggressive impulses get euthanized. If physical correction is not used, good luck.
He gives them a little kick, I dont see anything abusive there. Do you know what kicking an animal looks like? We are an NGO thta deals with abused dogs and believe me when I tell you those dogs arent being hurt at all. You might like or dislike his methods/shows/persona...etc but there is a long way from that to actually posting this and trying to portray him as a guy who wants to hurt dogs.
this guy is a class A wackadoo. and if anyone cannot see that HE is causing them to become aggresive you're either blind or you treat animals the exact same way. i don't know if its for ratings or what but he AND his "followers" are sick animal abusing fucktards.
@sleste1 He is not causing them to be aggressive. He is CALLED IN to help fix an already aggressive dog. "Reward" dogs are bribed dogs. Their loyalty stops when the bribes stop coming.
@oldmusher I'm sorry...but perhaps I'm seeing it all wrong then. But when a perfectly well behaved dog is standing there and THEN he puts his foot into its side and all of a sudden it acts as if it wants to eat his face off....to me, it looks like he's creating the aggressiveness.
@sleste1 Yes, you are seeing it wrong. Cesar notices a dogs body language in reaction to something, be it another dog or animal or whatever. He reacts instantly to correct the dog to get him to calm down, as the dog is already tense and ready to misbehave. He is not creating aggression as the dogs are already aggressive. To put it into words that uneducated dog trainers as yourself can understand, he is distracting the dog, eventually resulting in a correction of the negative behavior
i used to watch The Dog Whisperer and tried his methods with my border collie. They did not work as they made him aggressive. I then switched to reward based training and just plain love.Buddy calmed down and became the best friend one could ever want. Cesar Milan is a fool in my books.
@woodrat2296 You can't just "try" his methods you moron. That's like watching Gordon Ramsay cook and thinking you just learned how to be a master chef. You may have "watched" his methods but what prior knowledge did you have in that area. You can't just jump into things like that because when they are done wrong you will ruin a dog. Living with a "pack" taught me that with proper execution there is no better way to train a dog than with pack rule.
I'm not going to keep going around with the kick thing. You don't think it is, I do and I'm sure either are going to change are mine. 1m 55s watch that and find the FULL video of him choking the white German Shepard. You can see the Shepard couldn't breath. My point is that you don't need to put your "firmly on the dog" at all. About the nose flinching thing..... I saw him put his foot on a pitbull and the dog peed on itself when Caesar came back to it from fear. What's worse?? Do you reall
*nonever1244* I'm not under any illusion about Jordan (my dog) being just that, a dog. We don't have dialogs with each other but dogs and people do understand each other (scratches at the door, he needs to go out. Brings me his rope and barks, he wants to play.....) I MAYBE could understand what he's doing if they are wild dogs but, they're not. They're domesticated dogs and a part of people's family. "Kick" or "firmly touch" doesn't really matter. It's the fact that it hurts the dog which is w
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH U AND U CREEPY ASS RETARDS WHO LIKE THIS GUY! U DONT TRAIN A DOG WITH VIOLENCE! U R ALL ASSHOLES AND WASTE OF SPACE AND AIR PRICKS! U AND UR BELOVED DOG FIGHTING TRAINER CAN FUCK URSELVES! LET ME GUESS THOSE OF U WHO TELL US TO GO FUCK OUR SELVES BEAT THE HELL OUT OF UR CHILDREN TOO AND THINK ITS OK....U SICK BASTARDS!
@squeakymouse05 You have obviously got more serious problems than being pissed off about Cesar. Might i suggest some anger management classes. And by the way, typing in all caps makes you look like an uneducated neanderthal.
@donnadcx Which is why said comment was directed at "squeakymouse" whose comment is in all caps. And squeakymouse wasn't calling the maker of the video an idiot, they were calling people who follow Cesar idiots. And while i don't follow him i do believe in pack rule, which does sometimes require physical correction. I have a problem with idiots who can't tell the difference between physical correction and just plain animal abuse, both those against anything physical and those who overdo it.
this is a classic case of someone who puts way too much human identity into an animal, dogs have a "pack" mentality and they dont understand english no matter how much you think they talk back to you when you talk to them, only thing he does is he communicates to the ANIMAL.. not little person not your baby not your daughter/son that you never had...he is communicating to the ANIMAL the way other ANIMALS communicate so they will get the message, thats not a kick.. its a nudge, get over it
@nonever1244 So, when he gets out his little leash to bind around the dogs neck, restricting the air flow until it has to collapse to its side in attempt to get air-- that's communicating with the 'ANIMAL'?
I'm pretty positive that's abuse, not communication.
@Inkpaws yes that is communicating with an animal..why is it communicating with an animal? because when they feel something happening it snaps them out of their moment like " hey whats going on"..he is not putting a pillow over the dogs face and just holding it there, this is a key example, if you use one of those choking collars and you walk at YOUR speed and the dog keeps trying to go too fast.. it will learn hey i cant breathe as good maybe i should slow down a little and it does
I really can't believe this guy and the people defending him. Why does he NOT "Firmly touch the dogs" on the nose or butt area?? Because that doesn't hurt a dog!! At one point a dog yelped and laid on the ground when it was kicked. This guy is kicking dogs in the gut because there is no protection ther and if you really think think theres nothing wrong with that.... you shouldn't have any type of pet but a fish.
You're not supposed to correct dogs around the nose area because that can cause them to become head shy and flinch whenever something comes towards their face or head. Nowhere in this video does he flat out kick a dog with all of his strength and lay them out. If you really think he's hurting them, you have obviously never seen someone kick a dog.
There is something great about this video: because the maker went to so much trouble we get to see, over and over, the correct way to snap a dog out of their problem fixations. In any one Dog Whisperer show we might only see it a time or two. As Cesar says and demonstrates this is not a kick. Thanks, you've done us a good service.
After watching about 100 Episodes of his I really really hope he keeps on doing his tremendous good work. I trained three Malinois and saw plenty others. If they are on a high prey drive WITHOUT AGGRESSION they don't mind a kick, even my rather mellow female doesn't care about it. As long as you do NOT add human aggression, anger or frustration to it. That is the killer. Millan does not include negative feelings. That's what makes him unique and highly successful.
@Roswitha1231 You are right. He doesn't put the dog down emotionally and make them feel like a bad dog. If your dog is totally ignoring you, this method is great for bringing his attention back around to you. Those who haven't tried it and are calling it abuse, are ignorant. For all the other times there are small unwanted behaviors a quick jerk in the collar is all it takes. That and putting a backpack on my dog has worked wonders. My dog stays right at my side and is a joy to walk.
Funny i didnt see him kick the dog. He pushed the dog with his foot hes just blocking his path or taking him off balance... just because hes using his foot to do that doest mean hes kicking
Those of you that are running down cesar and his methods, what channel is your program on showing your methods for helping dogs with behavior issues? Oh, thats right you don't have a show. Here's what you do then, make some videos of you helping someone's dog (not your own) with behavior issues using your methods and post them to YouTube, never know, if it works as well as cesar's, you might get your own show!
Ce petit homme est refoulé, malade ! il a meilleur de se payer une prostituée, cela lui fera du bien. Il arrêtera de torturer de pauvres chiens. C'est un horrible personnage !!!
you can't deny that it works... Dogs may be domesticated but it is well known that if they know who is in charge and know the rules they will follow them and listen to the boss. There are many ways to reach that point but, Ceasar's seems to work quite well
This is just kinda dumb to me.......i take my dog to the dog park just about every day and i can tell u that she has taken a lot more than a little kick from running into other dogs, i think they can take a little correction like that....just saying.
I had not observed certain circumstances in which it causes negativity. And had not seen that moved them to, touch?.On more than one publicationI have seen so dominant dog,and not directly from Cesar.
If you want a really good explanation into why this con artist does not work, 4pawsu.com/cesarfans.htm If that doesn't convince you than I don't know what to tell you, you're just a fucking retard or something.
@Koldness99 well said precise and to the point the videos also show he ISNT "Targeting" What kind of morron has the time to go thru that many videos... its sad really I feel pitty for him/her they obviously have no life ...
It'ss not a kick, hes touching them with his foot, it sounds stupid but theres a diference. If he were actually hurting them they would yelp and cower, or attack him.
@NoisyWombat Did you watch the video? In several instances his kicks produced an aggressive response in the dogs. And they do yelp as well. Are you deaf as well as blind or just stupid?
@Faustina1327 I can tell you right now taping that dog with his foot hurts a lot less then what those dogs would do if they got their jaws on another animal, a child, or their own owners. And I think its definatly more humain to use rough training methods to rehabilitate a dog then to throw their lives away and have them euthanized. However I think the best soloution is for stupid people who don't understand animal behaviour to not bother owning animals they can't train or controll.
so you know a lot about dogs? why don't you create your own show or your own center? do you even have a dog? If he really is a mad man why do he own and take care a lot of dogs. and if his method sucks, why is it working and even have a show? get a life! If you really care for dogs, help them instead of ruining the works of others
Would just like to point out that Cesar Millan has done very few follow up videos, showing dogs behavior after his training. Everything i've heard and read, from actual people who handed over their dogs to him, says his methods do not work. Instead they make their dogs stressed and fearful, their dogs just kind of shut down emotionally, or sometimes they get even more violent and aggressive.
@oohgoditsbees your an idiot, he does follow up videos all the time and to say he doesnt get results is retarded.
and dont act like people are telling u ceasars techinques didnt work cause your a liar. wheres your sources to these people saying his methods ruined their dog.
hate all u want but dont be rumor spreading douche.
@mattdontworry He gets "results" for a very short amount of time, and he only does follow up videos on a handful of the huge number of dogs that he physically abuses into behaving. Kicking a dog does not work, plain and simple. You cannot say it does, because this Cesar Millan retard is the only person who does it. I don't know of any real professional animal trainer that agrees with these techniques. Cesar Millan is selling the equivilant of snake oil.
You must have never owned a high energy dog or multiple dogs 'cuz dogs play rough and what Cesar does is nothing compared to how dogs play with each other. Depending on dog's behavior will help determine what kind of training they need and how stern you have to be with them. Trained my husky about the same way Cesar trains and he is the most lovable, loyal, well behaved dog around. I can have my dog off leash and come back to me without treats, how bout you?(even if other dogs are around)
@Ambamian I've not laid a finger on my dog aggressively and he'll do anything I tell him. I think pattern is more important than showing power, but, then-- there are certainly more than one way to do things.
However, I don't believe using the soft under belly of an animal, a constricting leash around its neck, or shocking it are acceptable ways to teach them proper behavior.
gimme a break. I'm tired of hysterical dog people...he's not kicking or hurting them. Get a grip. If you wanna go after a so called dog trainer..check out Brad Pattison..he beats dogs off camera and films the results. Cesar is the man
This man's handling of dogs is inhumane. Just because he does it, doesn't make it right. This video is an excellent testament to Cesar Millan's inappropriate handling and training methods.
Finally, it makes sense that people who get riled up, angry, use inappropriate language and demeaning, aggressive and bullying remarks on this post would be inclined to use the bullying techniques of Cesar Millan on dogs as well as toward other people who post on these sites.
FYI: National Geographic has pulled its sponsorship of this show. Too much controversy over Cesar Millan's training methods. Only repeats are being shown now.
The American Humane Society was not permitted on site for any filming of Cesar Millan shows, despite repeated requests to be present to ensure no animals were treated inappropriately. Cesar Millan forbade them from being present.
@McNeilious1 You said it. It's sour grapes. What's really sad is the amount of meticulous work the guy did, going through each and every episode, looking for instances to *prove* his point. His evidence is... underwhelming. Just think of the all good work the creator of this sad little video could do if he applied himself to something meaningful, rather than trying to discredit someone who's actually helping others. Hey buddy, it may not be your way, but to each his own.
@huesenheimer. im insinuating your a prick. its not kicking, its not abuse! have u seen UFC fighters kicking each other hard, thats kicking, what he's doing is doing is not kicking u lunch. your a proper idiot its sad. and do i have a brain tumour u say?, a brain tumour makes people ill not thick shows how much brains you have, i aint entertaining your bulshit and waisting any more breath on you, look at the comments people post, fact show many more people disagree with you than agree.
Lots of Rubbish I read here. I like some of Cesar's methods, but to get a dog's attention he uses many methods, like a sound, a heh! Or a toy. Also a tug on the leash, even a hard one will have the desired effect for a strong aggressive dog. I have seen him kicking little Terriers and even Chihuahuas! That is not right nor necessary! Why does he call himself the dog whisperer if he does not train the dog by whispering to him/ her? As an owner, I would not allow him to kick my dog, as lightly a
Before watching this video, I watched a George Carlin video called "Stupid People". I just found 783 of them, the person who made and posted this video and the 782 people that liked it! If Cesar's methods were in any way harmful to the dogs the Humane Society would be all over his ass, and the Nat Geo channel, and he would no longer be on the air.
Thats almost the same as they do while riding horses. It aint much of a hard kick, its a fast tap. If the dog felt an insane pain cause of it, it would be crying in pain. Damn retard.
before you hate maybe you should educate. its not a kick its a tap to shift attention. same as usind a hand but using a hand gives the wrong posture (body language) fucken noob haters who post this shit need to get a life.... CESAR IS AWESOME! he has saved so many dogs, all for love
I don't think the kick is really necessary. You can use other techniques to help 'snap a dog out of it', like a minor leash correction. What REALLY bothered me about this video is the poster's comments at the end. Just because dogs are domesticated and obviously not wolves anymore doesn't mean that dominance is a non issue. Dogs that lack structure can absolutely try to take a more 'alpha' role and can end up with aggression and other behavioral issues. I am a dog trainer and I've seen it happen
who ever made this video is just envious of Cesar Millan´s success, if you only criticize rather than offer alternative procedures, it only speaks cheap of you. Editing a video to make believe.. thats not new you know? I think the one that need corrective therapy is who ever made this video.. go see a shrink you have envy issues.
stupid vid! if a dog has learned something wrong you gotta teach it, if that involves little a little kick, tough shit for the dog.. i wld always kick a dog thats attacking me!! the czech-slovakian wolfdog who he kicks a couple of times is a wolf-german-shepherd-mix that are really hard to train.. no contact training only works with a dog that has been raised with that special training, but its great! i've been training animals for 3 yrs professionally..
LOL ahh animal lovers. "oh my goodness he kicked a dog". when i raise my voice at my dog in public ppl freak out lol. its usually always white ppl too. call me racist. whatever i know im not. i have white friends and such and will tell them this. white folks are too soft. "i would never hit my child" but yet they have their kid on a leash because they cant control him. i dont even have my dog on a leash lol. he's not kicking he getting their attention. you gotta snap them out that zone theyre in
Cesar Millan kicks ass! He is the best. Your just a limp-wristed pussy(when it comes to dog traning). I like to see YOU try to train an aggressive 4 year old Great Dane? You would fail and get mauled to death (God forbid). Faggot pussy training only works on puppies. How do you break a Dog's bad habits? with an iron rod. Just like Jesus thought.
He is not kicking the dog. He getting the dogs attention and showing that certain behaviors is not wanted and some of them could be lethal.
Also, so you mean that dogs doesnt try to dominate us as it would in a dog pack? Are you retarted or something? Wolfpacks, do they have democratic votes?
What the F**k , this is not kicking but prodding . The same thing horse riders do to get their horses to go forward , the same thing cattle wranglers use to get the animal to move.
You want to see real kicking , let me meet the coward who made a youtube account just to post this one malicious video! i will gladly demonstrate to you by kicking him in the balls.
@Homer4pope Dogs aren't cattle you ignorant fuckwit. There are unprotected organs there. "He didn't kick him that hard though" is a stupid argument. Idiots defend this guy like he's Jesus. Truth is, I have never worked with or visited a shelter or daycare that had anything better to say about Milan than "Don't fucking listen to him."
MANN...listen the reason why other "dog trainers" are going so hard on his techniques is because they are not profiting from it. He is self trained, he doesnt believe in food training, he merely gets into the mind of a DOG. In the animal kingdom how else do you think they get along? piss off fools....GO CESAR!!!!!
do your homework before u post stupid un-educated videos you plonker !!
and by homework i don't mean a photo you got off google with an arrow pointing towards the abdominal section !
you have made your self look a right lemon and you need a good old kick to more than your abdominal section, if you can't see the great work he has done your blind as well as thick as shit.
did Cesar not reply to one of your emails or some thing and now your hating...
nat geo would really broadcast dog cruelty wouldn't they you idiot, what makes you a dog expert, u seem quite the opposite!
every client he sees is a happy customer and all the dogs love and respect him.
it would be unpractical for Cesar to get down on all fours and bite a dog wouldn't it now.... so the he uses the touch with the foot or hand which is the human way of biting, which is very effective.
you can see the man is a dog lover and has a natural way with dogs.
what a load of rubbish.. I've used all of his techniques on my lab when he was a puppy. including pining him down.. he is the sweetest dog 3 years on and knows who is boss.. and the little kicks Cesar uses is like a nudge..
the person that made this video is an idiot. shame on you. Cesar has helped so many dogs and owners.
It's completely unnecessary to be kicking a dog. There is a reason why Cesar Millan is the only person using this technique. Every real professional trainer out there, doesn't abuse dogs.
the part with the bulldog made me mad, that lead was way too thin and you never ever lift a dog like that! let alone one so stout and heavy! brachycephalic have a hard enough trouble breathing without getting choked and pinned!
I agree to a degree, some of them were kicks (you can hear the dog yelp and react badly *in pain* from the gesture) but there are times when he was being gentle about it. As for the whole "there is no pack mentality or dominance in domesticated dogs" that is complete bullshit. Its instinct no matter how domesticated they are to be either dominant or submissive. You see it in every dog. So don't go telling people crap like that. It's complete ignorance.
There is a difference between kicking a dog and tapping/touching the dog with your foot. If Cesar tried to kick a soccer ball the way he "kicks" these dogs, it would barely move a foot. This whole idea that Cesar is some monster that is so very cruel to dogs is completely misguided. Maybe you don't agree with the man's training techniques, but the fact is that what he does isn't cruel nor does he have a cruel intent. this is a nasty video ive used cesar way of training your dog your not kicking the dog it is a tap nothing more and the person or persons who made this video should be ashamed of them self cesar is not abusing these animals the fact is the people that use his service are at there ends wits and are looking at having there dogs put down cesar changes the dogs behaviour i have 2 mastiffs and with out usin cesar training my dogs would be out of control
are you going to show pictures of mother dogs bitng there pups when they are badly behaved ??
non of those corection touches are injuring the dogs its less force than a dog bite from the mother dog stupid people try to impose human qualities to dogs thats how they get there faces bite of when the dogs tries to take over the house

Just because dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years, does not mean that they have evolved in some way which has provided them with some innate knowledge of language and rendered physical command redundant. Just because society chooses to anthropomorphise dogs, their emotions and intentions, does not mean this is how dogs think. These techniques are based on how dogs interpret and react to their surroundings, not how the majority of humans think they do.
adeleswinge 8 hours ago
You cant correct a negative behaviour when it doesnt exsist. You MUST provoke the problem behaviour in order to correct it.
Its kinda like when someone has a phobia, you cant correct the fear unless you confront the cause. You cant stand across a field from the dog, play with it,reward it for good behaviour and expect them to associate this training AT ALL to the bad behaviour they exhibit in a different environment.

Dog Anatomy 101
They have thicker skin than humans do, especially around the neck area (to protect them with fights against other dogs). PS this is anatomy...not history
AND... the blue tinge to the huskys tongue is called cyanotic (it means the dog was hypoxic) caused from oxygen deprivation. IN LAYMENS terms...the dog was sooo crazy he made himself pass out. All the dog had to do was relax and cesar released the tension on the lead. The dog will eventually catch on and not behave crazy!

This is stupid.

karenhidef 1 day ago
Stop being a heater... Cesar has helped so many people learn not only how but WHY their dogs misbehave. You can't solve the problem until you know the reason behind it. You're upset because he's "kicking" a dog? You'd rather let the dog continue until he bites a person and has to be put to sleep? It only takes 3, THREE bites and the dog must be distroyed by law. Go to a shelter and save a life, and get one of your own while you are at it!
c5ster 1 day ago
:07 You actually have proved the opposite. You would never want to use this method targeting the ribs. The spot where Cesar heels the dog is at a soft point that won't bruise the dog. If you do that at the bones, you could injure the dogs tissue around the bones or the bones themselves. It doesn't take a neurosurgeon to figure that one out.
jchrisbass 1 day ago
Anyone who thinks this method is animal abuse would think a rough, friendly pat on the dog's shoulders is too. Some people are too sensitive and don't understand what it takes to shake some dog's out of certain behaviors. Not all dogs require this method or require a very light intensity depending on how sensitive the dog is. This big protective breeds sometimes need very firm correction in order to establish yourself as boss. A tiny Yorkie? Maybe not so intense, just a light tap is all.

Kicking dog = better than dog becoming aggressive towards others. Would I kick my dog? Nope. But my dogs wouldn't be mistreated or neglected to the point where they became aggressive. If he is not doing any lasting damage, I would argue that there is likely no new mental harm for a dog who had problems to begin with.
ulthea 1 day ago
I do not think that he is the best trainer in the world but there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. I think he uses great words and phrases like energy and vibe, but I suppose they are ment for TV.
The more and more dogs you get to train the better you become, it is very hard to go into a home with a dog with a behaviour problem that some dumb ass created and correct it and then have the patience to explain it to the same people that created the problem. If it works for him great.
vendov 1 day ago
@vendov He is good with people and dogs. He informs the people they allowed the dog to take over. He does it nicely somehow! Then, he retrains the humans on how to handle their dog. Id rather hit an animal to get it under control than to put it down. woodswing57 2 days ago 2

Shadowwolf403 2 days ago
You can't have a hard-headed, aggressive, obsessive dog and not use physical correction because you're worried it's "cruel" or don't want to "break its soul." There is no "cruelty" in the animal world. In the animal world, an aggressive/vicious dog is seen as weak and would be killed by others of its kind. A quick jut in the stomach (sensitive part) as a correction is not even close to many other methods people could use! I can guarantee CM is a better trainer than the person posting this video.

@oldmusher I'm sorry...but perhaps I'm seeing it all wrong then. But when a perfectly well behaved dog is standing there and THEN he puts his foot into its side and all of a sudden it acts as if it wants to eat his face off....to me, it looks like he's creating the aggressiveness.
sleste1 3 days ago
@sleste1 Yes, you are seeing it wrong. Cesar notices a dogs body language in reaction to something, be it another dog or animal or whatever. He reacts instantly to correct the dog to get him to calm down, as the dog is already tense and ready to misbehave. He is not creating aggression as the dogs are already aggressive. To put it into words that uneducated dog trainers as yourself can understand, he is distracting the dog, eventually resulting in a correction of the negative behavior

this is a classic case of someone who puts way too much human identity into an animal, dogs have a "pack" mentality and they dont understand english no matter how much you think they talk back to you when you talk to them, only thing he does is he communicates to the ANIMAL.. not little person not your baby not your daughter/son that you never had...he is communicating to the ANIMAL the way other ANIMALS communicate so they will get the message, thats not a kick.. its a nudge, get over it
nonever1244 3 days ago 6
@nonever1244 So, when he gets out his little leash to bind around the dogs neck, restricting the air flow until it has to collapse to its side in attempt to get air-- that's communicating with the 'ANIMAL'?
I'm pretty positive that's abuse, not communication.
Inkpaws 3 days ago
@Inkpaws yes that is communicating with an animal..why is it communicating with an animal? because when they feel something happening it snaps them out of their moment like " hey whats going on"..he is not putting a pillow over the dogs face and just holding it there, this is a key example, if you use one of those choking collars and you walk at YOUR speed and the dog keeps trying to go too fast.. it will learn hey i cant breathe as good maybe i should slow down a little and it does
nonever1244 3 days ago
I really can't believe this guy and the people defending him. Why does he NOT "Firmly touch the dogs" on the nose or butt area?? Because that doesn't hurt a dog!! At one point a dog yelped and laid on the ground when it was kicked. This guy is kicking dogs in the gut because there is no protection ther and if you really think think theres nothing wrong with that.... you shouldn't have any type of pet but a fish.
newfoundjoey 4 days ago
@newfoundjoey

Roswitha1231 4 days ago 13
@Roswitha1231 You are right. He doesn't put the dog down emotionally and make them feel like a bad dog. If your dog is totally ignoring you, this method is great for bringing his attention back around to you. Those who haven't tried it and are calling it abuse, are ignorant. For all the other times there are small unwanted behaviors a quick jerk in the collar is all it takes. That and putting a backpack on my dog has worked wonders. My dog stays right at my side and is a joy to walk.

@Faustina1327 I can tell you right now taping that dog with his foot hurts a lot less then what those dogs would do if they got their jaws on another animal, a child, or their own owners. Would just like to point out that Cesar Millan has done very few follow up videos, showing dogs behavior after his training. Everything i've heard and read, from actual people who handed over their dogs to him, says his methods do not work. Instead they make their dogs stressed and fearful, their dogs just kind of shut down emotionally, or sometimes they get even more violent and aggressive.

mattdontworry 4 days ago
@mattdontworry He gets "results" for a very short amount of time, and he only does follow up videos on a handful of the huge number of dogs that he physically abuses into behaving. Kicking a dog does not work, plain and simple. You cannot say it does, because this Cesar Millan retard is the only person who does it. I don't know of any real professional animal trainer that agrees with these techniques. Cesar Millan is selling the equivilant of snake oil.
oohgoditsbees 4 days ago
You must have never owned a high energy dog or multiple dogs 'cuz dogs play rough and what Cesar does is nothing compared to how dogs play with each other. Depending on dog's behavior will help determine what kind of training they need and how stern you have to be with them. Trained my husky about the same way Cesar trains and he is the most lovable, loyal, well behaved dog around. I can have my dog off leash and come back to me without treats, how bout you?(even if other dogs are around)
Ambamian 5 days ago
@Ambamian I've not laid a finger on my dog aggressively and he'll do anything I tell him. I think pattern is more important than showing power, but, then-- there are certainly more than one way to do things.
However, I don't believe using the soft under belly of an animal, a constricting leash around its neck, or shocking it are acceptable ways to teach them proper behavior.

oh my god, please stop saying it is an abuse. have you seen dogs playing once in a while?!? it is much more hardcore then those kicks.

gimme a break.

Finally, it makes sense that people who get riled up, angry, use inappropriate language and demeaning, aggressive and bullying remarks on this post would be inclined to use the bullying techniques of Cesar Millan on dogs as well as toward other people who post on these sites.
cycleshell1 6 days ago 2
FYI: National Geographic has pulled its sponsorship of this show. Too much controversy over Cesar Millan's training methods. Only repeats are being shown now.
The American Humane Society was not permitted on site for any filming of Cesar Millan shows, despite repeated requests to be present to ensure no animals were treated inappropriately. Cesar Millan forbade them from being present.

LIKE THIS IF YOU THINK THE MAKER OF THIS VIDEO AN ABSOLUTE, CLASS A FOOL !!!
McNeilious1 6 days ago 51
@McNeilious1 You said it. It's sour grapes. What's really sad is the amount of meticulous work the guy did, going through each and every episode, looking for instances to *prove* his point. His evidence is... underwhelming. Just think of the all good work the creator of this sad little video could do if he applied himself to something meaningful, rather than trying to discredit someone who's actually helping others. Hey buddy, it may not be your way, but to each his own.

@nickdoc1972. just seen your comment that says why does he call him self the dog whisperer if he doest whisper to dogs...
do you really need that answering ???

@huesenheimer. im insinuating your a prick. its not kicking, its not abuse! have u seen UFC fighters kicking each other hard, thats kicking, what he's doing is doing is not kicking u lunch. your a proper idiot its sad. and do i have a brain tumour u say?, a brain tumour makes people ill not thick shows how much brains you have, i aint entertaining your bulshit and waisting any more breath on you, look at the comments people post, fact show many more people disagree with you than agree.
nob !!
McNeilious1 6 days ago 2
what do you suggest he does to discipline? - discuss it over dinner -
this snaps the dog out of it instantly, his methods are successful
remember there is no democracy in a dog`s world, and thinking on the same level as the animal is what works
problem dogs are often from owners offering anthropomorphic relationships

Lots of Rubbish I read here. I like some of Cesar's methods, but to get a dog's attention he uses many methods, like a sound, a heh! Or a toy. Also a tug on the leash, even a hard one will have the desired effect for a strong aggressive dog. I have seen him kicking little Terriers and even Chihuahuas! That is not right nor necessary! Why does he call himself the dog whisperer if he does not train the dog by whispering to him/ her? As an owner, I would not allow him to kick my dog, as lightly a

That's not a "kick" any more than tapping someone on the shoulder is a punch.

Before watching this video, I watched a George Carlin video called "Stupid People". I just found 783 of them, the person who made and posted this video and the 782 people that liked it! If Cesar's methods were in any way harmful to the dogs the Humane Society would be all over his ass, and the Nat Geo channel, and he would no longer be on the air.
sixcues 6 days ago
Thats almost the same as they do while riding horses. It aint much of a hard kick, its a fast tap. If the dog felt an insane pain cause of it, it would be crying in pain. Damn retard.
Ashran 6 days ago
before you hate maybe you should educate. its not a kick its a tap to shift attention. same as usind a hand but using a hand gives the wrong posture (body language) fucken noob haters who post this shit need to get a life.... CESAR IS AWESOME! he has saved so many dogs, all for love
comeseeben 6 days ago 2

"i would never hit my child" but yet they have their kid on a leash because they cant control him. i dont even have my dog on a leash lol. he's not kicking he getting their attention. you gotta snap them out that zone theyre in

just a thought it kinda looks like he has some kind of shocking device on his shoe cause when ever he kicks them they jump like there being shocked

Just like Jesus thought.
xchanxzenx 6 days ago 2

In the animal kingdom how else do you think they get along? piss off fools....GO CESAR!!!!!

you have made your self look a right lemon and you need a good old kick to more than your abdominal section, if you can't see the great work he has done your blind as well as thick as shit.
did Cesar not reply to one of your emails or some thing and now your hating...
and please for your own sake don't get a dog !!

nat geo would really broadcast dog cruelty wouldn't they you idiot, what makes you a dog expert, u seem quite the opposite!
every client he sees is a happy customer and all the dogs love and respect him.
it would be unpractical for Cesar to get down on all fours and bite a dog wouldn't it now.... so the he uses the touch with the foot or hand which is the human way of biting, which is very effective.
you can see the man is a dog lover and has a natural way with dogs.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CESAR!

Dogs are dogs, not pussy humans. Cesar knows exactly how much force he has to use to get the dogs attention without hurting them.
TheRealOlrot 1 week ago
It's completely unnecessary to be kicking a dog. There is a reason why Cesar Millan is the only person using this technique. Every real professional trainer out there, doesn't abuse dogs.

the part with the bulldog made me mad, that lead was way too thin and you never ever lift a dog like that! let alone one so stout and heavy! brachycephalic have a hard enough trouble breathing without getting choked and pinned!

TheNightmareSequence 1 week ago 2
I agree to a degree, some of them were kicks (you can hear the dog yelp and react badly *in pain* from the gesture) but there are times when he was being gentle about it. As for the whole "there is no pack mentality or dominance in domesticated dogs" that is complete bullshit. Its instinct no matter how domesticated they are to be either dominant or submissive. You see it in every dog. So don't go telling people crap like that. It's complete ignorance.
Merleus 1 week ago
There is a difference between kicking a dog and tapping/touching the dog with your foot. If Cesar tried to kick a soccer ball the way he "kicks" these dogs, it would barely move a foot. This whole idea that Cesar is some monster that is so very cruel to dogs is completely misguided. Maybe you don't agree with the man's training techniques, but the fact is that what he does isn't cruel nor does he have a cruel intent. It would be better to focus your energies on animal neglect, puppy mills, ect.

this is a nasty video ive used cesar way of training your dog your not kicking the dog it is a tap nothing more and the person or persons who made this video should be ashamed of them self cesar is not abusing these animals the fact is the people that use his service are at there ends wits and are looking at having there dogs put down cesar changes the dogs behaviour i have 2 mastiffs and with out usin cesar training my dogs would be out of control

are you going to show pictures of mother dogs bitng there pups when they are badly behaved ??
non of those corection touches are injuring the dogs its less force than a dog bite from the mother dog stupid people try to impose human qualities to dogs thats how they get there faces bite of when the dogs tries to take over the house
