I live this scene too, but God he told her to trust him and to take the rest on faith. And looking back it really makes Derek an ass, but he was very McDreamy in this scene.

Well, I think he was just afraid that the only reason she was with him was because he was a big shot brain surgeon and wouldn't like his past and him living in a trailor and all that.

And I think he didn't tell her about Addison because he didn't think it should affect his relationship with Mer. He was trying to start over, forget about the past and begin a new life -and that's just human. I know it all exploded in his face, but I really do think he didn't mean to break her heart the way he did.

@thorunn03 I agree, and i think he would have told her eventually, but their relationship wasn't stable yet and he knew that Mer was right for him, and he didn't want to screw it up. Plus, I think we all know that Mer would have freaked out and most likely ended the relationship if he told her.
