She won two Olympic gold medals, four World Championships and three European championships in ice dancing with Evgeny Platov. The pair won 20 consecutive competitions during this time. She was entered in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1998 !!!!

You people posting here are crazy. This performance is far from magnificent or amazing. It is barely mediocre. And they are not anywhere near being the best ice dancing couple ever. They were very lucky that they skated when Russian ice dancers just had to show up to win gold medals. The only Russians who ever really deserved Olympic gold were Klimova and Ponamorenko, who won, and Usova and Zhulin, who did not, more's the pity.

Terrific. They are still great, and IMO better than most of the current top ice dance couples. For me they'd easily beat the competition if they came back.

Windomaker, Torvill & Dean are unique, but it doesn't take anything away from Grischuk & Platov, who are outstanding in their own right.

figure skating = doing tricks and trying to make it looks good Ice dancing = trying to make skating look as beautiful as possible, they focus much less on "you must do trick a at time x and so forth"
