Looking into getting these to make commentaries and do a lot of gaming. Can anyone tell me what the microphone quality is actually like? Is it clear when speaking into, good enough to be doing a year or so of videos on? Thanks!

1. Headsets have worse quality headphones+worse quality mic than a separate mic+headphone for the same price.
2. "Surround sound" headphones have far worse quality sound than normal headphones for the same price. This is because instead of 2 high quality drivers, they have 7 crappy ones. Virtual surround sound on normal headphones sound much better if you're dropping $100.
3. If the creators of a PC peripheral call it a "gaming" peripheral, run for the hills. It's over-priced crap!!

Once they touched some REAL stereo headphones they were blown away. if you want good headphones which you can also use on an ipod get 777 Platonics, my mic died on that though, so that's all i can use them for now headphones. and if they break you can use the usb 7.1 driver and buy the 40 dollar cheap stereo ones and use the same headset but different driver.
bad things, you cant hear yourself so its like your deaf to yourself , and the adjust ability is half of the g930 which are very similar but are wireless, my friend goes outside to talk to me on his g930 so the Bluetooth is great, compared to the g930 the g35s have changeable head cushions and the same technology and buttons, drivers etc.

i got the g35 and my two main problems with it: 1) the sound is too low...the max isnt as high as other headphones, 2) my ears HURT SO MUCH from wearing these for like a few minutes..anyone else have the same problem?

there are a lot of cool features BUT the headset is quite heavy!!! the bass is not the best (if any1 knows how to increase the bass, besides the options on the CD or properties on windows, then tell me) and u are likely to hear a crackling noise when listening to music in 360p or 480p on youtube. but the weight is the worst part of it.

People, this headset doesn't have 8 speakers, it has 2, so the surround sound is not real its a simulation, Thats why you can hear where you enemy is coming from, well not as good as you have a real 5.1 headset WITH 8 speakers in them.
Just bought this... The G35 driver only presents a "7.1" configuration to games / applications, e.g. does *not* present a "5.1" alternative configuration (which would be trivial to include.. not there!)
This brings a bad result that compromises or breaks many modern games' audio... Many games auto-detect the system audio configuration, so if (for example) the game supports 5.1 but not 7.1, then the sound channels will be sent incorrectly to your G35 speakers.
last week the right ear cup of my two year old G35 broke of, after been using it for hundreds and hundreds of hours. It's the best bang for the buck headset I've ever owned and I'm probably gonna buy myself another one again.
@GodlikeProd 1st uninstall the driver for the device then use the CD to install the drivers. if it dosent work then either wait for the product to work for win 7 64 bit or get a refund.
Honestly, I don't know. I've heard that the mic works, but the audio won't work on the headset due to the ps3 not supporting audio through USB. Although I've also heard that the first generation ps3 consoles DO in fact support audio through USB.
And I don't see how Sony can release a USB GAMING headset for ps3 while the console not supporting USB audio... Idk.. Sounds kinda fishy, but even so, I already pre ordered my pair the Sony ps3
@narka360 No the Logitech G35 does not work with the Ps3... If you want a headset working with all gaming systems i would recommend the Tritton Ax Pro or the Logitech G540.
@T3RR0RB0Y42 Actually the G35 does work on my PS3, Just need to make sure to activate it in the options before going into a game.
My only problem with this headset is the random LOUD static that happens. Many complaints on the logitech site but no solution yet... real pain, just happened to me like 20 minutes ago while playing Deus EX:HR, scared the heck out of me lol
@vango003 Hey, just read your post. I had the same problem when using them my laptop. Its from not having enough power to support the headsets. If you are getting the static, you need to plug them directly into a usb port, a powered usb hub, or use a different computer with a better motherboard/power supply. Too me a while to find a solution, but hopefully you found it already, since you posted that 2 months ago.
Yes, ps3 DOES in fact support USB audio. And I know this because the OFFICIAL Playstation headset coming out in sept 2011 will be USB. so, YES, these headphones will work with your ps3.

there are a lot of cool features BUT the headset is quite heavy!!! the bass is not the best (if any1 knows how to increase the bass, besides the options on the CD or properties on windows, then tell me) and u are likely to hear a crackling noise when listening to music in 360p or 480p on youtube. but the weight is the worst part of it.

@IllyaMuromets Really, the bass in the G35 is SICK. You have configured it wrong maybe. I am 15 years old and those headphones are NOT heavy.

@Zakka96 dont know, maybe? tell me what setup u've got. but even if the bass is good i still get a crackling sound when listening to music that's on youtube (unless it's in HD). do u have that problem?

People, this headset doesn't have 8 speakers, it has 2, so the surround sound is not real its a simulation, Thats why you can hear where you enemy is coming from, well not as good as you have a real 5.1 headset WITH 8 speakers in them.

Just bought this... The G35 driver only presents a "7.1" configuration to games / applications, e.g. does *not* present a "5.1" alternative configuration (which would be trivial to include.. not there!)
This brings a bad result that compromises or breaks many modern games' audio... Many games auto-detect the system audio configuration, so if (for example) the game supports 5.1 but not 7.1, then the sound channels will be sent incorrectly to your G35 speakers.
No driver update on this in 1 yr

last week the right ear cup of my two year old G35 broke of, after been using it for hundreds and hundreds of hours. It's the best bang for the buck headset I've ever owned and I'm probably gonna buy myself another one again.

@GodlikeProd 1st uninstall the driver for the device then use the CD to install the drivers. if it dosent work then either wait for the product to work for win 7 64 bit or get a refund.

This works with motherboard sound card off. I'm using 580 GTX with its HD sound driver installed.

Honestly, I don't know. I've heard that the mic works, but the audio won't work on the headset due to the ps3 not supporting audio through USB. Although I've also heard that the first generation ps3 consoles DO in fact support audio through USB.
And I don't see how Sony can release a USB GAMING headset for ps3 while the console not supporting USB audio... Idk.. Sounds kinda fishy, but even so, I already pre ordered my pair the Sony ps3

@narka360 No the Logitech G35 does not work with the Ps3... If you want a headset working with all gaming systems i would recommend the Tritton Ax Pro or the Logitech G540.

@T3RR0RB0Y42 Actually the G35 does work on my PS3, Just need to make sure to activate it in the options before going into a game.
My only problem with this headset is the random LOUD static that happens. Many complaints on the logitech site but no solution yet... real pain, just happened to me like 20 minutes ago while playing Deus EX:HR, scared the heck out of me lol

@vango003 Hey, just read your post. I had the same problem when using them my laptop. Its from not having enough power to support the headsets. If you are getting the static, you need to plug them directly into a usb port, a powered usb hub, or use a different computer with a better motherboard/power supply. Too me a while to find a solution, but hopefully you found it already, since you posted that 2 months ago.

Yes, ps3 DOES in fact support USB audio. And I know this because the OFFICIAL Playstation headset coming out in sept 2011 will be USB. so, YES, these headphones will work with your ps3.

nice job speaking louder when putting on the headphones to make us think the sound canceling is working, and when you took them off you stayed at the same pitch, oh and i think they might have to have some power source for the sound canceling to work....
