Hey turtlesrock527: I'm compelled to disappoint you, because this Merten's Water Monitor was actually in captivity, at a zoological exhibition. But I know that, contingent upon the amount of naturalist zeal you harbour for the little amphibious reptile, they're quite readily available throughout Thailand and Malaysia.
Beautiful Cage,I built now a new cage for my Varanus mertensi but I live in Europe and in Europe mertens are not so expensive like in the USA

I want a merten's water monitor so badly! They are just to dang expensive! I love them because they are so thoroughly aquatic it's just so cool!
