@lamalulu123 omogoooood--that's the first thing that I thought when I saw this!!!!hahaha. But I think this is better, The scene was intense, not sugary and sappy like Moulin Rouge (although I like that movie too for a different reason) ^^
The slap was weird :D I love this movie, it's so emotional... Greta is absolutely adorable, charming woman, but she looks unhealthily and still so sad :(
@amichellef93 I'd have to agree; I've often felt the Camille story is better suited to silent film, where melodramatic storylines don't feel as unnatural.
Garbo is such a great actress. Her acting here is so subtle yet it is so heartbreaking. She is telling her lover to leave her when she knows that she loves him, yet her face tells us how she really feels. I'm sorry but I have to say this- Taylor is not a good actor. In this scene especially he just seems melodramatic. Yet I love this film despite him.
I can watch this again and again and again- one of the best scenes from an absolutely perfect movie. Garbo and Taylor, gosh they're damn good actors! I get so into the movie, I forget everything around me.
i love this film- Garbo is incredible, she looks so strong yet so vulnerable at the same time. Tremendous actress, and such a beauty. As for Robert Taylor, what a man! He looks so gorgeous in that suit, he's brilliant! Thankyou for uploading!
