You don't have to always play with perfect "musical" skill...especially when playing a very technical piece like this. Just look at Wynton Marsalis, he isn't the most musical trumpet player out there and is often criticized for it, but he is still one of the most liked, and talented players out there.

I don't think people know how EXTREMELY difficult this is. Not only does he have to double tongue, but he has to drop his jaw at the same time. It is extremely confusing and I can only do one at a time.

Yes, it's less difficult when you've been practicing for 20 years. I've played trumpet for about 4 years now and I've got the double tonguing down, but it seems impossible for me to get an enormous interval of range while double tonguing like Allen does.
