They had some really "talented" black actors back in the 60s 70s. They were highly trained and skilled--today, they just give roles to rappers and hack singers. Will Smith was an anomaly, but I hope real actors start getting these parts.

Hollywood wouldn't give a movie like this any props. But this was a movie based on reality which made the acting so real.

@arkansoul I totally agree! This movie has substance. I guess its all in the nature of humans and how different families love eachother. This was happening in '72 and is still going on. Its sad when your own family tries to keep you down, but again thats the nature of humans. I Love this film...it touches home.
