I met Charles Mann in 1980. He was the resident artist at Pike County Middle School in Concord, Georgia. He was instrumental in establishing a chorus for our school system and he is wholly responsible for my love of music. He is the reason I sing today.
I first heard Colin Curtis play the 12" of this superb record, at a jazz-funk do somewhere in Stoke in 1981 and I went completely nuts over it! Sam played it at the Birmingham Locarno modern nights in 1982. An absolutely brilliant record, better on the longer intro-ed 12" I think.
Just picked this up,what a great tune, straight on my playlist.

That's my cousin, Charles Mann, produced by my brother, Nick Mann, who produced the Reddings.
