God I miss the original Greater Faydark timeline. Everything about it was better than the massive cock-up that is GU57 & 58.

Bring back the original Fae rite of passage story!

@ShinyMarshtomp The old questline was unique in that there was a mix of fighting and exploring as you went on this Rite of Passage learning about the Fae, before going off to fight the Orcs corrupting the forest. It had a very "peaceful" feel and the dialogues were touching & humorous in parts. Now the quests are more like the new Neriak questline. While GF/Kelethin is still beautiful, it has, at least IMO, lost a lot of the "charm" that the old story had.

@ShinyMarshtomp The problem a lot of people had with the old fae questline is that it was very confusing the first time, because you had to find all these NPCs in Kelethin (a very complicated city BTW).

They made Qeynos & Freeport starting areas again? I'll have to check that out, it's been awhile since I played...I hated the old versions of those cities, you had to go through like five loading screens to get to your quest area.

Yeah, that's a good way to put it.. I could never think of the right words to describe this. I love it though. My first EQ2 toon was from Kelethin, a little Fae, so I a spent a lot of time there :]

Well, the only dissappointment i got from EQ2 was the bard revamp, i enjoyed working my skills up so i wouldn't miss notes every 5 seconds lol

But hey, im leveling 80 on EQ2 now and i wouldn't give it up for anything :3

@ShinyMarshtomp well..as for the traveling...i mean people can still run the whole way. not all of us really have the time to major hardcore (or dont want to be) a balance - or atleast the choice for hard modes and shit is pretty cool. i still enjoy the original eq music more teehee! take care

I started playin when I was 9. I immediately thought it would be badass to join the path of discord. Only later did I realize I had fucked myself. So after about a 5 hour wait for a GM ticket to go thru, they gave me some quest that at the time seemed like insanity, which involved me going all over the world and getting crazy items, just so the GM could change a 1 to a 0 >_>

But god it was epic.

@Boroher Agreed, the leveling is a little fast, but its fun. My main is level 32 and I have 2 level 9 alts. Obviously I'm not much for alts haha. Back to your point, if you are in the middle of a zone wide invasion, or one of the large zone events, it can be oh so very fun.

@GalryZ yea dude, i remember back when i first started playin eq1, there wasnt evn a map lol. and you had to use the boats to travel.. going to a far away land wasa big deal. seeing a dark elf evil necro creeping thru gfay was rare and scary lol. it was soo classic. they try too hard with games now. and too many kids cry to the makers when they die alot. they need to make a hardcore game with hardcore pvp.

i hope when i die i wake up in eq1 world as a wizard lol.&the music is always playing

Agreed on the old version being better.

I kind've like the echo in this version. Gives it a new twist, and imo it kind've gives it more of the "old world, new to return, and undiscovered" feel. Sets the mood in my opinion. =)
