  • It's BIDISH Mr.dars2607

  • I have to sing that for my concert, but It's soooooooooo HARD!!!! I'll give you my adress 236 east nequhoning st. Easton PA. I you want to write to me

  • It is something to compare this early performance of Alexander with another which I only discovered here on you tube just recently. Even at this young age Alexander was amazing. I have been viewing videos here on you tube for years but only recently did I care to post and create a profile. Thanks for posting this nice video ! :-)

  • Is he singing this in English? As Handel integrated and called himself English at a very early stage in his career.

  • I don't think those kids would have now that high voice? Probably its fades away.

  • GREAT singing. Too bad some of the pronunciation is a bit weird. But I LOVE this boy's voice.

  • hes not as good as robin

  • I loved this aria and I wonder where I can find the sheet music of it, what is the name of the song? if they can help me I'll be very grateful

  • Awwww.... cuuuute! ^^

  • well done!very good!!awesome group!

  • how old is he now;?

    how old was he then?

  • @deestinyraee 12 then, now 18

  • WOW. no other comment

  • what a cutie)))

  • sweet! such a little body, yet a big voice, love it!!

  • that was very very cute

  • These boys are always a delight to hear .

I love little Alexanders unruly hair.

    He is so cute

  • I only hear some distortion caused by the camera's mic not being able to handle some of the frequencies

  • no, he said 'that was a frog'cause the kid need to clear his throat.

  • @singspieler It does not sound like it is damaging his voice, no. This boy went on to become one of the choir's greatest singers. He is now about 17 years old and his voice is just dandy.

  • @singspieler You question this conductor's judgment? This isn't any conductor - this is Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, one of the greatest conductor's for young boys voices to ever grace the planet. This choir is known all over the world. I think he knows what he is doing.

  • has something going for him for sure!

  • ist er noch dabei??

  • not bad!

  • Singing will not destroy a boy's voice if he has a voice coach to teach and train him properly.

    for your information,

    this 'Pamina' was just starting his artistic when this was filmed and as a newbie he might sound slightly unbalanced;

but he had overcome it and developed a more steady, sonorous voice and had performed much more and had safely 'retired' following his voice mutation.

Do please go check out other videos tagged with 'Alexander Lischke' and you'll understand.

  • ooops, this is not a role of 'Pamina' but the one and only Alexander!

  • awesome kid..

  • hehehe cool!

  • OMG HES SO GOOD!

  • So cute!

    How old is he today?

  • i read on another video that he'z 16 now

  • omg 0:48-0:52

    wow

  • which aria is this?

  • or let the merry bells ring 'round from Handel's L'Allegro, il penseroso el il moderato

  • CUUUUUUTE =)

  • i agree, hes cute lol

  • he's awesome!

    i love boy sopranos :)

  • wonderful! i marvel at boys like these with such high voices! beautiful!

  • EXQUISITO!!!!

  • Pode Crer que é Verdade !!!!

  • so cute...

  • Why does the choirmaster stop him after a few bars? What does he say to him?

  • Alexander has got a frog/a lump in his throat, that's wy the choirmaster stopped him. So that he could clear his throat.

  • rtcall: This boy was a choirmember of Tölzer Knabenchor. So it is not a school in that way. it is a choir for boys. Most of the boys lives around Munchen. But the choir as I know is in Bad Tölz

  • Part of my family comes from Bad Toelz! It was a surprise to discover that this choir comes from it too.

  • I want my boy to go to your school. OH MY you young men are so so so talented!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW, how lucky they are. We don't have a choir like that anywhere near here. Most of the time at our school the music teacher just shows movies!!!

  • I do admire your ability boys!

    MARAVILHOSO! BRAVO! GREAT! EINDRUCKSVOLL!!!

God bless your astonishing celestial gift!

  • I like his voice, but when he takes a breath his shoulders are high and they look very tense.

  • Krass!o__O Wow!

  • charisma!!!

  • bravo alexander !!!!

  • WOW! good job!

  • where can i get the lyrics to this song?

  • 'or let the marry bells ring round' one of Händel's works in English

    lyrics here:)

Or let the merry bells ring round,

    and the jocund rebecks sound,

to many a youth and many a maid,

    dancing in the checquered shade.

  • You are the youth in the checkered shade son!

  • @DCsk8er7787 google is your friend =)

  • He sings really well. His pronounciation is a bit weird sometimes though. But that's the case in the vid of him in The Magic Flute as well. I like his hair in this vid ;-)

  • Bravo Alexander!

  • wow. Er ist wirklich super! Hat wirklich Spass gemacht zu zuhören!

  • may I know the title of this video?

  • I think this boy was really, really great. What a gift was his voice.

Sorry, Does anybody knows the name of the Aria??

  • Or Let The Merry Bells Ring 'Round

  • It should be 'Oh Let the Merry Bells Ring' by Handel.

  • Merci,

    Thanks...

  • Yes I think he is 15 years now.

  • It's funny, cause when the conductor stops for him to cough Alexander L. smiles (just trying to show his not embarrassed.) His not bad though really, great boy sopranos include Alexander McGee, and him when he was younger.

  • @Zerlina12 He's 18 ;)

  • @moskowgirl92 is he still pretty ?

  • @RolfDerMarienkaefer totally hehehe

  • where do you get a video like this? He must be like 15 or 16 now, right?

  • Bravo! Danke allen!

  • Mattbod: Yes some of the boys goes back to the choir as tenors or basses. Not Altos. They already have altos in form of the boys. Some of the boys study too be operasinger as for expampel the former boysoprano Christian who is now a tenor and teaching some of the youngest boys in this choir, and Panjitos and Christian was altos and are now baryton/bass operasingers

  • Yes. And I'm glad that MOST boys' choirs now make arrangement for their "graduating low voices" to continue training and help in training the newcomers. They're not 'left out in the cold' like they used to be.

  • By the way compare this boys operatic style to young British chorister Anthony Way (now a punk singer). Type in "I heard the voice of Jesus say" and have a listen.Anthony is typical of the u.k cathedral style. Not so dramatic but still moving.

  • I heard that this boy left after his voice broke. Don't any of these boys go on to beocome Bass-baritones, Altos or Tenors and continue to sing as adults?.

Seems such a shame to just fade away like that.

  • çok güzel superb

  • yeah now that i looked closely, it looks like he did

  • cough or not to cough... that is the question

  • he did cough, just with his mouth closed. very cute,

    bravo!!

  • I didn't imply that it wasn't a great performance, infact... all the greater because he had a cough and pulled it off. Look at 0:26, 0:28, 1:33 and wiping his nose at the end. You don't wipe your nose and take a bow.

  • Look closely...he had a cold or something as he was coughing throughout the song and still got through it without messing it up ...which explains the big ovation.

  • I didnt see him cough ONCE throughout the whole song, i heard coughing in the back, but that was the audience, he just had phlegm in his throat in the beginning. And he got a big ovation because hes a great singer, he always receives alot of applause at the end of every performance, watch his other videos... pssh a cold??

  • I think he was struggling with the frog in the throat problem throughout the piece. He did a small cough during the pause as he hit his chest. Then I think he was clearing his throat at 00:29, and maybe other times. He seemed to have a worried "am I going to make it?" look, and then a look of relief at the very end.

The kid's a great little trooper to sing that well when he wasn't at 100%!

  • Glad to see/hear this one ["frog in throat"]. ...lonesome001...

  • I really enjoyed watching that, thanks. One thing is that I only realized that he was singing in English after the video!

Also, Alexander must have have been so embarrassed when he was stopped to clear his throat. I know I would be.

  • Does anyone know the name of this aria?

  • 'or let the marry bells ring round' one of Händel's works in English

Or let the merry bells ring round,

  • jocund = happy

    rebecks = medieval violas

  • Could someone post the lyrics?

    Please??

  • Yeah!

Thanks for the video, I really enjoy watching it. It's awesome!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this,Zerlina!

  • Alexander had a "frosch" in his throat that means a phlegm and he didn't sing the right tone

  • I've seen this video before too. I don't understand why the conductor stopped him the first time, lol. What did he say in German?

  • the stopped song was to ask if he has a "frog in his throat".. lonesome001

  • Why did he say that? I didn't get what was wrong with his intro....

  • He said so because he "released" a phlegm in the first few words of the intro.

  • love it:) i've been looking for it recently cause i'd noticed that it desapeared for a couple of days:P

Alexander perfect as usual :) it means that the world is still in order:P
