As long as 35mm is still around with odd 70mm rare showings I’d never be fan of Dolby digital cinema. Sure the medium looks the same first time every time, but still it can have breakdown or some technical issue which I have seen and heard first hand wasn’t amused after spending 2 hours on coach to watch The Spy Who Loved Me at the Empire Leicester Square, a few years ago, £13.50
I used to go at least 6 or 7 times a week when a good Dolby film mix was playing in town, that’s the same film over and over. Today sigh, not worth it, the fun of cinema of seeing a film in one main large screen is two weeks at most now. In the 90’s it was at least 4 to 6 or 8 weeks run now its all fast, what’s the rush? I bet digital can’t do 8 weeks run in one screen without being moved around for the sakes of some lame cheap 3D film, I mean digital medium, its no longer called film.

what a sheer waste money. The image looked DNR and EE was all around the image. Even the sound centre failed after 60min with lose of centre channel.

Also I’m rather disappointed with what digital cinema offers in terms of with Dolby3D just doesn’t interest me in going to the cinema anymore.
