To make the 8 shoot out like that you just hit bottom right hand english and aim for the second ball behind the 1 or first ball. Must have a TIGHT rack. These guys must be in the Philippines cause I notice that stroke anywhere.
@yayasquirrel if you loose you rack them up..those are the rules you must not play pool often... so shut you're trap and go play it instead of bitching on the internet
He made three in a row because the idiot that was racking was leaving a space between the head ball!! That is why good players examine the rack. If there is a space on on side break from the opposite and the eight will shoot out everytime!!
FYI an eight on the break was always a rerack for the longest time and then when the coin op tables started to get big alot of people started calling it a win becasue someone has to pay to get the balls back out. APA it has always been a win. BCA it has always been a rerack.
i have read that a pro will only make the eight on the break 1 out of 11 tries on avg. i know the break hes using and he just got lucky 3 times in a row. the sick part is it looks like a 9 ft gold crown witch is somewhat of a tight table.
This isn't 9-ball guys, in 8-ball it's a re-rack if the 8 ball is sunk off the break. And it's neither a hard or easy shot, it's just luck; if you asked him to do it on the spot he wouldn't be able to.
@U2befantom Look at the tilte (Official APA Rules). In APA an 8 on the Break is a win, and this guy is lining up the cue ball to do it. You have to line up one ball-width from the rail at the second diamond, and hit the cue hard with bottom left english. This risk in doing this, if you get the side-spin wrong you will scratch everytime. So no it's not an easy shot, and it's not just luck. I line up my breaks this way everytime and I've only made an 8OB twice.
I think it's fairer to re-rack, since one proves no skills in sinking any ball off the break. It's just pure luck or crazy coincidence as the one in the video. I'm sure the asian guy agrees since he was banging his head so hard at the end, in utter awe and astonishment.
Don't know why some of you folk don't like this rule, not only is it actually the correct rule but it's so difficult to do that you deserve the win if you can manage it! Cue the dozens of liars who will now say "I've done it lots of times" ........
@flossiezz Just realised the mistake. This is American pool. I play English. English pool it's a re-rack. Wasn't away of the different rule for American pool.
@sam5588 Ok, so you play english pool on an american table. Interesting. I play english rules on an english table in Australia, but agree that a re-rack is the fairer option.
@flossiezz No I play English rules on an English table in England. English rules pool states that if the 8-ball is potted off the break it is a re-rack and the same player breaks again.
APA u can hit any of the head 3 balls, but technically this is not APA its JPA... as far as positioning the cue ball with the cue stick it is only a foul if the ball is struck in a stroking motion. so if u want to move the cue ball up a few inches i would not recommend doing it with ur cue. watch the pros they don't use the cue to position the cue ball and if they do its normally less than a inch.
I live in minnesota and I don't know if this applied everywhere but in league around here they just changed the rules so if you sink the 8 on the break you don't win but instead get the 8 back out and put it on the center of the table, and if you shoot at the 8 ball and miss but you scratch you dont lose, but if you make the 8 and scratch you lose
@farmer01631 if u dont scatch but u make the 8 ur king no matter what. Makin the 8 is close to fuckin impossible. I'd kill if someone said it didnt count because of another ball that wasnt the cue ball.
You know this is why no one.....no one plays 8 Ball for Money. Unless they are stupid. It is possible to sink the 8 on both sides and in the left back corner over and over again. Ive seen it done dozens of times. Thats why big money players play for points or play 9 ball.
technically he lost the last 2 because he also pocketed another ball, I may be wrong but I was always taught that in order to win off the break you couldn't sink any other ball just the 8, not sure though I have never played in any tourneys
@Denass121 copied straight from BCA rule book.8 ball wins on break came from bar room play 8-BALL POCKETED ON THE BREAK
If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, breaker may ask for a re-rack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting. If the breaker scratches while pocketing the 8-ball on the break, the incoming player has the option of a re-rack or having the 8-ball spotted and begin shooting with ball in hand behind the head string.
@Denass121 no most of the country plays 8ball on break wins. same as its only ball behind the headstring if you scratch on the break anytime you scratch after that its ball in hand. But this is only going by the TRUE rules of 8 ball. Problem is people have their own set rules at any different venue you play at.
@skrapinflesh Yea i was watching the APA matches up at the bar and noticed none of them were calling shots. I'm like...umm why isn't anyone calling shots? One of the guys goes, "you don't have to in APA" lol i'm like wow really?
I play in a traveling bar league and our rules seem more strict then APA surprisingly.
@rahulnair1991 what do you have to say you're a friggin asian too. so just just damn harami! (yea I looked up this word just to attack you in you're own language)
one odd thing is he rolls the cue ball back to shooter at 1:45 and again at 1:56. Either its not the next rack or there is a cue ball in bottom left pocket
@Caelroigh Not true. When you have ball in hand, you are allowed to adjust it with your cue as long as you do not do so in a stroking motion. It's in the BCA handbook and if you watch the US Open, the players do the same, Alex Pagulayan does it occassionally when he breaks, but most do it after their opponent fouls.
@ProdigyKimXP Actually, according to the video, it is APA rules, within which you can adjust the ball with your cue but if you touch the ball with tip or ferrule (the white part at the end of the stick on which the tip is affixed), it is a stroke. BCA is not APA, the rules are different.
@Caelroigh Except... I'm right. Page 5. Download the handbook.
This video is old and so is your handbook. You make a valid point, but I never read the rule book 4 years ago, so could you give me a link or source to read it? I would like to see it myself.
@ProdigyKimXP Don't have a link, just hard copy. I just talked to a friend who runs the league in my area. He says there was a lot of controversy so the APA changed the rules a couple of years ago. In my opinion, the shooter should not be able to adjust the ball with his/her stick at all, but I'm just a player...
@Caelroigh Okay. I personally feel like the player adjusting the ball with his/her stick does not affect any part of the game. They have the freedom to put and move the ball anywhere on the table. If moving it with their stick is easier and faster than moving it with their hands, I think that's fine. The cue ball is going to end up on the same spot on the table whether they adjust with hands or cue, so I don't see why it's that bad. It would just take longer to adjust with hand in my opinion.
hit between the second and third row of balls with extreme top left english at that angle... it forces more of a solid push as you saw with the last 8 on the break... it's hard to do I've done it twice in two separate tournaments lol I had the best luck with the technique I said above
On a bar box I once sank 8 balls on the break and 1.Not one of those was the 8ball and 2.I didn't have a shot(last ball rolling gets married to the q).Another weird thing that happened to me was I was racking the balls and my opponent was talking to me. I was just throwing the balls into the rack without looking. My opponent looked at the rack amazed. It was perfectly arranged solid, stripe, solid stripe with the 8 ball in the middle;very eerie.
@tinab1081 in most leagues, you do not have to hit the first ball playing 8-ball, unlike 9-ball where it would be a foul not to hit the 1 ball first on the break.
the tactic in these shots is to hit the second ball (barely missing the first ball) with draw to avoid scratching while getting the best chance on potting the 8

@zeroclod You can't be sure of that. From the angle in the video, it may look as if it's past, but it may not be. Only way to tell would have been to be there. In an official match, it would matter, but between 2 people, a few millimeters don't matter. I would wager that he had the cueball placed properly though.
@SnareBuff Its definitely possible to read where the ball is from this video. I can clearly see the ball is on the line which is against the rules. Break is suppose to be behind the line not touching it at all which these breaks are not complying with.
@zeroclod It's not really probable to be able to see it as if you were standing there. The view is above at an angle, which changes the plane by which you view the image. I would wager, with these 2 players being there, that the cueball was placed properly, and if it weren't, then the other player would have mentioned it. The only way to tell for sure would be to be there.
Wow... Fucking people... all the people that have said " blah blah blah the ball didn't hit the rail; the second ball must be struck first; check the APA rules". FUCK YOU! This guy hits the 8-Ball in 3 times in a row on the break! If you think he is that bad, fucking post a video response of you in a public place, with witnesses that see you do the same thing, and I don't give a fuck about official rules!
Just to possibly point something out. Is it not correct, it is only if you play the 8-ball and no other ball, that you win the game? In the second and third frames/breaks, he sinks another ball also, technically causing loss of game? I am almost 100% sure this is the official take on the situation.
you are lucky to have had someone who can rack well too! Usually I go for that shot I get shitted on by my racker and the 8ball just sits in the middle of the table lol.
looks like hes a full ball above the second head string and hes hitting 3 deep id protest and hed be disqualified your right its not good it looks like hes racking below the spot as well at least a full ball, hell just look at the table its IN YOUR FACE.

It's in the BCA handbook and if you watch the US Open, the players do the same, Alex Pagulayan does it occassionally when he breaks, but most do it after their opponent fouls.
ProdigyKimXP 1 year ago
@ProdigyKimXP Actually, according to the video, it is APA rules, within which you can adjust the ball with your cue but if you touch the ball with tip or ferrule (the white part at the end of the stick on which the tip is affixed), it is a stroke. BCA is not APA, the rules are different.

@Caelroigh APA handbook page 5.... I'm right

@ProdigyKimXP Mine is 4 years old but it says I'm right so... good for you, you must be very proud.
Caelroigh 1 year ago
@Caelroigh Except... I'm right. Page 5. Download the handbook.
This video is old and so is your handbook. You make a valid point, but I never read the rule book 4 years ago, so could you give me a link or source to read it? I would like to see it myself.
ProdigyKimXP 1 year ago
@ProdigyKimXP Don't have a link, just hard copy. I just talked to a friend who runs the league in my area. He says there was a lot of controversy so the APA changed the rules a couple of years ago. In my opinion, the shooter should not be able to adjust the ball with his/her stick at all, but I'm just a player...
Caelroigh 1 year ago

I made 2 8-on-breaks today in APA practice :) was hilarious, people around me went nuts.

nice rack job...all it takes is a hard hit wih a little draw on the ball hitting the second ball behind the 1 ball.
it's crazy that i happened 3 times in a row (chances of hitting the 8 ball in once is 10% chance)

pretty nice but the second break you got a lucky kick from the 9 ball
stevo18ck 1 year ago
On a bar box I once sank 8 balls on the break and 1.Not one of those was the 8ball and 2.I didn't have a shot(last ball rolling gets married to the q).Another weird thing that happened to me was I was racking the balls and my opponent was talking to me. I was just throwing the balls into the rack without looking. My opponent looked at the rack amazed. It was perfectly arranged solid, stripe, solid stripe with the 8 ball in the middle;very eerie.

lol he says qi lan xin after the 3rd time. literally qi xin means crazy, lan means dick. together, it's supposed to mean fucking crazy.

i was just watching this video and he doesnt even hit the first ball, he is hitting the second ball on the right of the head ball.
tinab1081 1 year ago
@tinab1081 in most leagues, you do not have to hit the first ball playing 8-ball, unlike 9-ball where it would be a foul not to hit the 1 ball first on the break.
nickawalker 1 year ago
@tinab1081
in 8 ball i believe that's totally fine.
the tactic in these shots is to hit the second ball (barely missing the first ball) with draw to avoid scratching while getting the best chance on potting the 8

I dont know why he places the cue ball at the same place everytime..
MrJiYung 1 year ago
@MrJiYung
That's his secret.
I do the same thing...every time...and I've sunk the eight probably 6 times in the last couple months using this technique.
2 1/2 balls away from the rail,on the second diamond, heavy draw, hitting NOT the lead ball, but the second ball back,on the right.
The draw keeps you from scratching on the right corner.
Bino43 1 year ago
@Bino43 like more than a tip of draw? what's heavy draw? thanks
onemorebrando 1 year ago
Just fyi the cue ball was past 2nd dot on first break for sure and the other 2 it was pretty close. If you were playing me I wouldnt of counted it.
zeroclod 1 year ago
@zeroclod You can't be sure of that. From the angle in the video, it may look as if it's past, but it may not be. Only way to tell would have been to be there. In an official match, it would matter, but between 2 people, a few millimeters don't matter. I would wager that he had the cueball placed properly though.
SnareBuff 1 year ago
@SnareBuff Its definitely possible to read where the ball is from this video. I can clearly see the ball is on the line which is against the rules. Break is suppose to be behind the line not touching it at all which these breaks are not complying with.
zeroclod 1 year ago
@zeroclod It's not really probable to be able to see it as if you were standing there. The view is above at an angle, which changes the plane by which you view the image. I would wager, with these 2 players being there, that the cueball was placed properly, and if it weren't, then the other player would have mentioned it. The only way to tell for sure would be to be there.
SnareBuff 1 year ago
he made 2 balls on the 3rd shot he lost
805Dens 1 year ago

HIT THE 3RD BALL THAT IS NOT LEGAL IN APA
SPORTSPALACE 1 year ago
i'm sure u have to put the ball along the line at the back or in a semi circle, i'm sure he's just put it in a random place
samwillmanurule 1 year ago
Just to possibly point something out. Is it not correct, it is only if you play the 8-ball and no other ball, that you win the game? In the second and third frames/breaks, he sinks another ball also, technically causing loss of game? I am almost 100% sure this is the official take on the situation.

too bad he wasn't betting 100$ a game
TruePlayerrr 1 year ago
you are lucky to have had someone who can rack well too! Usually I go for that shot I get shitted on by my racker and the 8ball just sits in the middle of the table lol.
darethas 1 year ago
looks like hes a full ball above the second head string and hes hitting 3 deep id protest and hed be disqualified your right its not good it looks like hes racking below the spot as well at least a full ball, hell just look at the table its IN YOUR FACE.
