Ford's St. Thomas Assembly Plant: The Last Days

It is a shame to see these cars die. They were the last of the true old school WWII generation cars. A true honest car, hard working, reliable, integrity, simple, smart, safe, and all things good.

I see these cars all the time with 300,000-miles on the original parts. I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of these cars.

As a autoworker, seeing people running around in whatever clothes they want irks me. The clothing should be uniform, provided and managed by the employer. It prevents people from soiling their private clothing and having to wash their own work clothes, it enhances teambuilding and presents a united front towards the neverending stream of visitors who come and go in the factory.

That really sucks, people who have worked there for 25 + years laid off, soon-to-be classic American automobiles silenced forever. Sad, just sad...

@adcuz their building Crown Victorias, they're Government utility vehicles for police and other forms of law enforcement.

Not particularly pretty cars but they're very reliable, chunky, and powerful cars. RWD too :)

I'm glad to see GM clawing back from the dirt and dust like a wretched little worm of a company it is and start building good vehicles. But they just can't hold a fucking candle to Ford.
