seriously how come a 50foot tall statue hasnt been built in honour of this incredible musician! right in the heart of seattle! if i won the lotto i would i swear!!Poet! artist! genius vocalist! and all round good guy! rip layne
Layne was a star like no other in the night sky. His music with AIC and Mad Season is some of the most amazing stuff out there even today. I'll never stop missing his shining light.
Wonderful tribute to Layne. Thanks so much Gema, for putting this together - it's really very touching to see Layne smiling and laughing and enjoying life in these clips.
Jerry sang his heart out during the Tribute Song "Black Gives Way To Blue" in memory of his friend Layne last Friday night a the Key Arena in Seattle, it wan an amazing performance and the entire concert was recorded in 3D for an upcoming DVD that will be out sometime next year but you can check out my channel for live footage that I recorded.... Check it out!!.. RIP Layne!!..

Geez, B3adCreative! Are you seeing a therapist? 'Cause if not, you should seriously consider it. "I'm obsessed with Layne 'cause he wanted to die young, just like me". What do you know whether he wanted to die at all? Who are you to pretend you knew anything personal about this man? Man, you really should let him rest in peace and get your head examined!
@BeadTheFreak Dude, stop looking for sympathy on youtube and go see a doctor. Nobody has to use anything to have a shell to protect themselves. Just have the strength and willpower to be hit by the things in life but keep going regardless. Stop obsessing over someone who fucked up their life. Layne was a great singer and wrote some great songs but he is not an angel or anything like that. He is just a man, which is all he'd ever want to be remembered as.
does anyone know what vocal range this is in? I'm just curious. This song is very comfortable to sing and I'm just wondering is his voice alto? tenor?
I'm a female too...my voice is on the lower side for sure.
Its so sad that in Laynes last interview he said that the other members of Aic were not his friends...well Jerry wrote a whole album for his tribute, Jerry loved him like a Brother!
saw them in 93 davenport,Iowa they opened with nutshell it was fantastic there will never be another like layne rest in peace I hope you have true love now....
Thank you for getting me through the dark and tough times of my life. You've left alot of love behind which still seems too sting. We love you Layne~! R.I.P until we meet.
I was waiting for someone to make a video to this song. It was only a matter of time. It's the most meaningful tribute song - from Layne's own brothers. Seven years after his death...
It really is a sad song. As soon as I heard that opening wail, I felt it. And the first words too and the way Jerry sang them: "I don't wanna feel no more." Hits the heart.
I do miss Layne and I always will, but I support the band continuing on. R.I.P. Layne
Continued: I think this is why I am so obsessed with him. I too want 2 leave early. sick of life sometimes, but use to escape. I'm like Layne in other ways I noticd. I'm very open. its who i am & i expect ppl 2 understand & care cuz I dont judge. but most dont. they judge. i'm proud to be gifted & 2 b able 2 feel extremely deep. Makes happiness larger than life. but its a 2-way street..we feel pain much deeper too. I suspect you are one of those angels. thx 4 the great videos!! RIP our angel
"@gemainchains"... I agree with you, it is a two way street. As painful and as wonderful as life can be, serious heroin addiction makes you feel like you're just never going to see the upside again, and eventually it gets to the point where it becomes hard to remember who you once were. Man, what a great talent he was. What a great guy he was. And what a crying shame, what a huge loss.
@B3adCreative I want to escape too......I can't do it anymore...I don't have anybody to talk to...that understands me...so I just get baked to get by in life..
@B3adCreative Great video and song, it brought tears to my eyes. Layne was the best singer and man do i miss heraing him sing. Never mind Layne's dad how shitty was that. Getting back into his life only when he became famous just to get Layne hooked on heroin and leave to get sober and leave Layne hooked forever. How his dad can live with his self i don't know piece of shit. Layne your truely missed RIP.
Awesome u made a layne tribute video so soon w/the new AIC song dedicated to Layne by his bros!! SO touching & healing to cry and morn 4 what he went thru & if you are like him, morning for yourself. But someone said on your other layne tribute, angels walk amongst us, they 'feel' much deeper than most, leave their mark on peoples hearts & always leave this earth 2 early. WOW! that described him to a 'T'!! & I've always been like that! feel deeper than most, affectd by music & excited 2 much.
great video! warm drops of liquid fall from my face as I hear a song & see that beautiful man that I feel so connected with & it invites feelings which Ive tried to avoid & drown out with drugs for so many years of my life. I hate to feel!
@B3adCreative with you there man, i really miss that guy, and this song did put a lump in my throat. Can you believe it's gonna be 10 fuckin years in April? And then a couple of months after that it'll be 10 years since Dee Dee Ramone died too. Two of my biggest heros to this day.
Such a beautiful song for a friend, ride on Jerry. We will always remember Layne.

I mean just go and watch some interviews with the guys from AIC and see how much respect they have for him.
Hell even listen to Mike Starr talk about Layne.
