  • hope you dont mind if i park my boat here?

  • This is the dredge Ceratodus. Here's a pic of what it looked like bonzle.com/c/a?a=pic&fn=r0j6xb2z&s=2

  • I absolutely love exploring shipwrecks and ghost towns. I guess it has something to do with their history and how they came to be this way

  • Help! I ran out of paint!

  • Let's patch her up and go cruisin'.

  • @TheEastBranch Agreed. Problem... we can't row it, it's too big.

  • Your camera skills are horrible...

  • What shipwreck ? Throw some "Marine-Tex" in the holes, paint the bottom, and we're "Good to go" !

  • Comment removed

  • @Lovecrop there's nothing to be afraid of shipwrecks. there empty husks.

  • WW2 wreck perhaps?

  • this is ceratodus wreck (i found it on googleearth 25°30'27.94"S 152°59'16.73"E)

  • Comment removed

  • shipwreck exploration is best underwater :D

  • If anyones interested thats the SS Maheno

Built in scotland in 1905 as a luxury liner

Used by New Zeland in WW1 as a hospital ship

Washed up on fraser island in 1935 and used for bomber practace in WW2

  • @xXGreyWolf Wrong. The SS Maheno is on the Eastern side of Fraser Island. We found this wreck on the Western side.

  • @xXGreyWolf did they just decide to leave their luxery crueser slash hospital or was it captured?

  • Where's Fraser Island? (Also, is that an ore freighter?)

  • It`s still good! Just needs some copper paint..

  • So cool to see the trees growing on the inside of the ship.

  • I was waiting for some homeless guy to jump out.

  • a fixer-uper for sure!

  • ahhh you found the wreck of the SS TETANUS!!!

  • whats the name of the boat????????????

  • @525halo SHIP- Boats fit on Vessels, and Vessels fit on Ships, but Ships DON'T fit on Vessels, and Vesseles DON'T, fit on Boats, and Ships, therefore, also don't fit on boats. (Sorry for any rudeness in correction, but it gets my goat people calling Ships and Vessels Boats, it's just not right in my mind.

  • @JeffHendrie Do you know the actual difference between a ship and a boat? No? A ship has liferafts. A boat does not.

Signed, Former RCN sailor, East Coast Fleet

  • @jonnfromcanada Which is why a Submarine is referred to as a boat. Just in case you wished to know.

  • @jonnfromcanada I know that's why it's called a boat.

  • @jonnfromcanada PS, Vessels are defined as craft on the water. All ships and boats are vessels. obtain some nautical knowledge sir.

  • @jonnfromcanada P.S. to you too, I HAVE, nautical knowledge, I've been studying the Edmund Fitzgerald and making models of it for as long as I can remember thank you very much. Just because you used to be part of the Canadian Navy, doesn't mean you know everything. My uncle's a former WWII United States Navy sailor, therefore a WWII veteren, but oh well, he doesn't know everything does he? No, he doesn't. Please obtain some REAL, knowledge of me before trying to insult me.

  • @JeffHendrie I'm fairly sure having been to sea countless times, this means around the world. To your country too you little shit, means I have a good amount of nautical EXPERIENCE and knowledge. PS Your uncle doesn't come into the equation here kid and I'm not questioning his knowledge. I'm questioning yours. The comments you've replied back have proved to me you're nothing but a little asshole who has no respect for those 29 men, nor your uncle.

  • @jonnfromcanada Question mine all you want, to me, the way you're currently acting is a sign of UNintelegance. Also, don't call me "KID", when you know nothing about my life. Also, it's bad luck to name a ship after another one, NOT DISRESPECTFUL. Disrespectful is raising the Edmund Fitzgerald, because it's a gravesite. Naming a ship after it is only bad luck. I doubt you have any experiance with me, or on the Edmund Fitzgerald. Or were you on the Edmund Fitzgerald when/before it sank? No? Good.

  • @JeffHendrie 14 years old = KID. Don't think you deserve any more. PS no, naming another ship after her is not disrespectful. You using the ships name as a fucking trolling device is disrespectful.

Also, you've alot to learn if you think absolute rudeness is a sign of stupidity. When you grow up and learn that the world doesn't work the way your textbook says it does or what your mom coos into your ear while rocking you to sleep, then come and talk shit. go build your k'nex kid.

  • @jonnfromcanada 14=TEENAGER, and trolling, is not the use. I don't BUILD K'nex anymore... I'm building a model of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and naming it the Edmund Fitzgerald II. Absolute rudeness isn't a sign of stupidity, swearing is in my mind though, live with it. Learn more about how I work, then you can talk crap all you want about me, at least you'll know what's true and what's not. As I said, learn more about me before trying to insult me. Veterain or not, Sailor or not, don't care. LEARN.

  • @JeffHendrie You'll be very sad to find that most of the world's brilliant people tend to swear. Like my buddy Mark. Who works for NASA. You can look him up if you'd like. He swears all the fucking time.

  • @jonnfromcanada It is sad, sort of... hey, at least it's a polite comment. (or rather it's politely stated.)

  • @JeffHendrie PS You're a KID until you reach age of majority, which in your country is 18. Until then, you're not an adult. Teenager you can call yourself perhaps. But you're a kid none the less.

  • @jonnfromcanada Again, thanks for stating that politely, and thanks for telling me that the age majority in the United States is 18, I didn't know that until now.

  • @JeffHendrie I didn't tell you thinking that you didn't know, it was me completing my statement. Unless you're actually serious that you didn't know, which I doubt as they fill you full of american knowledge in your schools. (Not meant to sound derogatory. My fiancée is from Vermont.)

  • @jonnfromcanada Congrads. Also, I know, and hey, the Fitz did fly a canadian flag at the bow. So daragetory would be understandable depending on how it was states. Anyways, thanks for the polite replies. Also, Vermont is a cool place probably, (never been there myself). Again, congrads.

  • @JeffHendrie It's a beautiful state. Tons of trees and mountains everywhere. Weirds me out when I go there though, theres no big bodies of water.

  • @jonnfromcanada I had the same reaction to my family's trip to D.C. last year. (on the way there) XD

  • @jonnfromcanada P.S. Try the Great Lakes Region next time.

  • @JeffHendrie Now fuck off and go back to bragging to your friends in school how you brushed up against a tit. You disrespectful fucking trash.

  • @jonnfromcanada I know that too. COngrads, not my fault I go by the Coast Guard-easy to remember version. DUH boats don't have rafts. So don't be snotty.

Signed, the owner of the Edmund Fitzgerald II, currently under construction.

  • @JeffHendrie The Coast Guard version is wrong and don't you ever use a ship's name that was lost with all hands (even if you added "II") as a fucking trolling signature you disrespectful little 14 year old fuck.

  • @jonnfromcanada Don't YOU ever call me that again, I know of the bad luck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and I know that naming another ship after a ship that was lost with all 29 crew members is also bad luck, why do you think I named it that? I'm Proud of the Edmund Fitzgerald, and by "the Coast Guard", I mean what they use as an EASY way to remember, the obvious thing is the rafts, not obvious is the size differance, and who cares how old I am?

  • @jonnfromcanada More-so, I'm using the name "S.S. EDMUND FITZGERALD II", as a sign of the point that we're all mortal, everything, and everyone has an end to it, and a begining, the Edmund Fitzgerald was a proud ship, and the Edmund Fitzgerald II, can, and will, NEVER live up to that level of how proud it was, nor will any other ship that will ever be built, I'm also using the name Edmund Fitzgerald II to symnbolize the 29 men who died that night. Think of OTHER possabilities aside disrespect.

  • i look on Fraser Island on Google Earth and i can't find it what is the excat location?

  • The Video i send to you have some pictures of the frazer island shipwreck to.

    He may R.I.P.

  • That ship was beached!

  • Cool

  • true buddy

  • lovecrop same for me

  • i don't know why, but shipwrecks freak me out more than anything.

  • me three dude

  • Quite the oposite for me, when I see them, IRL or on the internet, I become very intrigued and want to know the history, how and happened, and what the ship looked like in its day. I really wish I didn't miss the SS American Star.

  • @lovecrop same here,when i see shipwrecks i kinda get spooked

  • @lovecrop your not the only one. shipwrecks freak me out to. ships just freak me out all together.

  • @lovecrop same there fucking scary bastards

  • Judging by the blunt bow and the overlapped plate, likely an old freighter from the 1930-40's

  • good video, not so good camera work.

  • where the hell's 'Fraser Island'?

  • It is about 150 miles north of brisbane

  • So thats where the other half of my boat went

  • That ship was not wrecked! She was beached! =Stefan=

  • I wonder where all this is? cuz well arn't all sunken ships should be underwater?

  • not all ships sink

  • the crack across the bow looks like a craggy old mouth. so wicked

  • Comment removed

  • God, its like Jaws' mother came and bit the whole ass end of the boat off!

  • BOY I THOUGHT GILLIGAN WAS SCREWED !!!

  • Looks like you got a serious termite problem.

  • wow thanx for showin us the inside

  • Once a proud vessel.

  • No good freakin boat!!! *kicks*

  • i always thought it was so cool how nature takes everything back if given the time... like the trees growing up through the inside of the ship. even the biggest manmade wonders are no match for mother nature :)

  • Thats so creepy

  • Duct tape fixes everything.

  • Haha! Yeah, a little bondo, some chicken wire, a fresh coat of paint, and maybe an oil change... I could have her ready for the high seas again in a few weeks!

  • what is that sound

  • its probably cicadas

  • O- shit that was gilligan filming the ss minnow with a video camera made from a coconut.

  • i saw a ship wreck when i was in Greece. it wass washed up on shore and realy rusty

  • were wose this felmd at

  • if yoo wnnah knoz were this wose felmd aht yoo shud loock aht teh deskripshun.

    God, learn to spell.

  • SpartanHunt, why are you trying so hard to be cool?

  • ...?

I commented, that's what you do on YouTube.

  • hey dude come on don't be mean to other people just to look cool it ain't right :( LOL JUST PLAYIN NICE ONE DUDE! :)

  • She's a little rusty.

Bit of bog and a paint job and she'll be right again.

  • WOW THAT IS SO COOL i have seen 1 shipwreck on Fraser island

  • Should have used rust-oleum.

  • I would LOVE to go exploring the remains of that ship.

  • Why don't you do it then?

  • r u planning to put it underwater grave where all ships belong?

  • If I do have the right one. You will not miss much as at least 60% is deep in the water and that area is not good for swimming (riptides) sharks and all

  • @AngryBassist66623

and i would LOVE go exploring every orifice of you.

  • This ship was quite a grand one, she was sold for scrap and being towed to japan (correct me if i'm wrong) tow lines broke she beached sat there for a few years then used by the RAAF for bomb runs. it is on frazer island (spelt wrong I know) There is a post board with information on it. I was there in 2003 last mainly used for 4x4 off road trips and sight seeing.

  • Not too sure if you are talking about the right ship here.

  • @breakmyface no, I think he's got it.

  • @sephiroth230898 no, he doesn't.

  • i reckon it in australia

  • hmmm the marks look like bomb marks or ice burg marks where were you?

  • ice berg. its in fucking tropical australia

  • he never said they were, he sai the looked like, next time readthe desription and dont embarris your self

  • oh ok maaaaan. sorry but you rule!

  • does that happen to be on the huson river in new york near bear mountain?

  • no its near the city of brisbane, australia

  • where is the superstructure??????

  • and thats why lighthouses are oh so very important.

  • i was anchored off a rare island in the pacific called thesis. they had caves full of jap bones from ww2

  • looks like a tramp steamer, All she needs is some duct tape and alot of that 5 min epoxy..... then she could be off to terrorize the strait of malacca! ARRRRR!

  • wher did you see this ship

  • Could be a WW2 wreck... Fraser Island is also home to killer sharks.

  • yeah i think thats a shark in the background on the right a 1.16

  • I love finding things like this and then trying to research it's history.

  • what kind of is it?

  • Ships only creep me out iff they are under water. In fact all metal under water gives me shivers. Including chains and cinderblocks

  • That hulk is so rusted its hardly worth the gas it would take to scrap it. That's why it's just sitting there rusting.

  • creeps me the fuck out!!! they are ghosts

  • very creepy

  • Very nice, i wouldn't dare go inside a shipwreck because i find them creepy!

  • i dont understand, can someone please answer my question.

all the videos i have watched where the big cargo ships have wrecked and they just leave them there,

    why do they do that?

    please help

  • either because it's to large to be salvged or even the cost of repairs would be finacialy unfesiable or even if they did manage to recover the ship for scrap it's value would be less than for salavage repair or towing.

  • but like the american star for example, all of that debris can cause another ship to sink? you would think that they would do something when it becomes a hazard

  • If a ship sinks or is wrecked in a shipping lane or port etc then by law it has to be recovered or destroyed to the point where she no longer poses a hazard to other shipping.

Something like this or SS America / American Star is not posing a threat to other shipping so if it's not recovered then it's just left there to rust.

  • go inside?

  • this is my boat!! xD

  • Interesting.... i understand this is old war junk, but if someone can enlighten me as to why its just a shell of a ship? has it been gutted by those who dumped it? i realise they'd wana remove all weapons and ammo but this is a borning shell... wheres all the fun?? even tho i'd still enjoy a look around.

  • i dunno...I too have an attraction for old, rusty, abandoned/wrecked stuff...I think it's just the curiosity

  • Jesus, I give you credit for going that close.

I have a problem with shipwrecks. Fascinating, yet creepy.

  • I BET THERE ARE GHOST IN THIS WRECK.

  • dude im afraid of swiming or even going in the water near big ships like that cause i had a near death expierrience with that when i was 10 and so everytime i see a ship i stay the fuck away!

  • um, thanks for sharing?

  • i swam near a fuckin cargo ship i almost got sucked through the propellers i didnt say a word for days i just did the daily routine i never spoke for abot 2 weeks i had this face like i see a ghost uthink it is strange i had a near deth expierience.

  • Do you know exactly where this is at on the western Fraser Island coast so i can post a tag of it on google earth? (that might make it easier for me to find it in all those miles of coastal forest lol)

  • I have already posted the exact location.

  • And apparently almost every shipwreck on earth has been documented on google earth, lol...

  • that ship is a worldwar 2 carrier tank jeep and ammonition...

  • Well its in good shape

  • That god dam ship is fineeee.... get the hell up their and turn the key and set sail for due north son!!! And call it.... the black pearl.

  • cut it up and weigh it in

  • where is it?

  • Open up Google Earth and paste the following coordinates into the "Fly To" text box.

    25 30' 26.79"S, 152 59' 16.36"E

We camped just north of the shipwreck. You will see a Jetty and a Boat Ramp with a car on it.

  • I'd laugh if it suddenly falls over and lands on them. haha

  • mad humbling..

  • Hmmmm, how many truck loads of duct and stainless aluminum HVAC tape it'll take to fix this one..... Anyone?

  • 4.7 truckloads

  • any1 care to take a ride?

  • thats the S.S. Maheno you see there guys

  • No it's not. The Maheno is on the eastern side of Fraser Island on the beach.

  • "yeah bro, couple hundred bucks and we can float this bitch"

  • AY! her sea worthyness be a bit questionable matey!

  • i would love to be able to photograph that thing

  • woahhhh

  • NEAT stuff..

I seen a ship on land when I as in Pensicola, Fla...

  • That's awsome! I live not too far from the New Carissa, They want to remove it! I say to hell with that. The beach is cool (i could never live in a landlocked state) but haveing a beached freighter that you can walk right up to just makes it that much cooler!

  • shipwrecks are cool. they really make you think about the ship's history :)

  • i agree. learning about shipwrecks and such is much funner than watching tv:)

  • yeah

  • televisions these days are all repeats of other shows. some wife and husband with like 3 kids and a couple ignorant background characters. and movies based off history these days are not accurate because of dumb hollywood directors. but shipwrecks are directly accurate for history searching, so it makes it much more worth at least 99.9% of stuff you see on tv.

  • have you ever seen the shipwreck in smugglers cove, zante,Greece i went there this year on holiday

  • never been to greece. though all my life i wanted to see an underwater shipwreck since i know thousands of them in history books, but never had yet found the time to go for scuba lessons to do that.

  • My Dad is a Scuba Diver, he has dived on hundreds of wrecks!

  • which famous wrecks has he visited?

  • i dont really know, lol

  • cool vid

  • thanks for the video!

  • Patch the holes? All 60,000 of them? The boat is more hole than metal haha.

  • Let's patch the holes, drag it out a few miles and shoot it with a missle. It dies in a blaze of glory and ends up forming new reefs. Pyros and hippies alike will be happy!

  • not uch left of it now, must have been there a LONG time!

  • That is very cool. However kinda spooky too.

  • it looks like godzilla attacked it with is flaming fire of doom and moved it to shore so it wont jit any sea creatures lol just tell me how you found and are you the first one to discover it that would be nice if you did

  • you're strange...

  • I think it may leak. I'm sure I saw a hole in it somewhere.

  • LOL

  • Come on, wheres your sense of australian ingiuity...

Nothing but a few 2x4's, plywood sheets, screws, and a little duct tape wont fix.

    It'll be good as new!

  • looks more like that shipped just parked for a while. Maybe they forgot to pick it back up! why don't you push it back out in the water and take a ride!
