You know everyone in entitled to their say. I'm not real familiar with what Buddy Roberts did in Freebirds. But out of all those guys my fav's we're Michael and Jimmy Garvin.
@1981CrueHead I have to disagree my friend. Buddy Roberts was very important. Michael Hayes was the charisma, the talker of the Freebirds. Terry Gordy was the Strenght, the toughness of the clan. Buddy was most of the time the guy who got an ass kicking, he was a very important part of the trio since The Heels have to get beat up by the Heroes, and Buddy was the guy who got betup most of the time.
THAT is how you call a wrestling match. That referee did a good job. In a lot of independent wrestling matches and some from WWE, the referee sees the dirty deeds being done and doesn't disqualify someone. The referee made the whole thing seem more legit by calling for a DQ when he saw Gordy interfere. Good job.
@princesstamika Awesome comment. I just recently took an interest in Martel's career pre-WWF (Strike Force/Model), and it is a very impressive career that I read about. I feel sorry for the young fans of today who will never see the caliber of wrestler that was of the time when I was younger., including Rick Martel.

This was from the NWA-AWA joint venture called Pro Wrestling USA, an attempt to counter the national run that Vince McMahon was starting with the then-WWF.

The AWA Actually Did Well Up To 1985
And It Was All Down Hill After That

@therehastobeme Yeah, in 1986, they took a turn for the very worst. In 1985, their talent was just as good as the WWF and the NWA.

Martel was champion a lot of different places in the very late 70s and 80s. He was super-over everywhere he went and is a true legend.
