  • I used to have an iPhone. Then I took an Android in the knee.

  • Gentlemen, meet the Google Toclafane.

  • Open Source. Fuck Yes.

  • U JELLY iFAGS?

  • I really want to make a portal 2 reference right now, but I don't think it would be too original.

  • Trying to convince my grandparents family to switch to Android. My Aunt works at Nasa, so this will help.

  • I've been trying to decide between a G2X and Nexus S as a good used vanilla android phone to buy. This is the BEST endorsement for a phone I've ever seen. Its fcking Nasa man, NASA!

and I agree with RealConty... Take that Apple brainwashed SHEEPLE!!

  • HOW IS THIS APPLICATION CALLED

  • The specially designed app will be loaded on two iPhones and flown to the International Space Station this July on the last mission of the space shuttle Atlantis.

Meaning iPhone is the last to be sent to space. And as we all know, the best is always saved for last.

  • Who knows.. Steve Jobs must be using Google Nexus S to check his mails right frm heaven :D

  • apple you just got pwned. or as google may say chromed

  • Let google lead mankind!

  • Again Android on top ......srry iPhone maybe next time.....

  • its amazing to think that in ten years something as light weight as android will be used as the primary OS for the biggest and most powerful machinery, thanks Linus Torvalds for making Linux and thanks to Google for making Android

and in ten years iOS will only power a phone, tablet and Mac OS will still try to use it but fail miserably because Macs suck ass :p

  • Just Beautiful, I love my Nexus S 4G

    Nexus s user.

  • WIFI in space?! No way!.... wonder if its password protected x)

  • HARO 0.5!!!!!!!! XD

  • VICTOLY!

  • First generation HARO?

  • cue "droiddddd"

  • @franscartoons no, because nexus s is a developer phone and it runs stock, so you can unlock openly easier than android skin phones.

  • androidddddd:)

  • Geez, can you be more obvious as a commercial. Why would you use a cellphone in space, that's just crazy, using NASA to do it, is even crazier.

  • @Ryuuken24 Its Economics... commercially available parts cost less and the new smartphone come with all sorts of sensors and programming tools... Android is a better option than apple because it does not play Big Brother and lock up everything....

  • @manekz You're dumb dude. You can build all the robotic things in the cellphone for 1/3 of the cost of the actual phone, AAAND, you can have more stability to control all the different sensor feedback, not only current errors that put up, but also predictable shutdowns by outside forces, and the mobile phone is just not all that. This is just a advertising done by NASA so they can get some money. Space if filled with radiation, you can't have a smartphone outside the ISS. Dummy!

  • @Ryuuken24 Yes... Mr. Rocket Scientist... everybody bow to the smart guy who NASA missed out on hiring cause they were just not lucky enough! Seriously dude... I pity you... Have a good day... :D

  • nasa couldn't afford a galaxy s2?

  • Google should buy the Moon... just sayin

  • what's the name of the application?

  • QR:

    Sensor Data Logger

  • pay for a botnet.

  • am I the only one that thinks of the Space Core when seeing these?

  • I love my Nexus S :))

  • This Is 00100 to Apple

  • Android is better than IOS

  • omg skynet is now in the space...

  • One person dislikes this video. I think it's Steve Jobs.

  • @flintbrenick Haha!

  • The fucking space shuttle has WiFi !?!?!

  • @funrizwan The International Space Station has. How else do you think the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads in the station can connect to the internet.

  • How electrifying cool! I want one. I want to live in Space. When oh when.

  • Microsoft will definitely sue NASA.

  • Tell your iPhone to do that

  • haha! i have a nexus s 4g , and its one of the best phones I've had. I expect alot of hateful comments from apple fanboys! but what can they say? we've been to the moon.

  • Looks like Tim Cook Found this video...

  • My Nexus S' can't find any mobile network, I can't repair it, they don't help me :( and they send a nexus to space :( poor me

  • ok i'm really nerding out on this thing... i take it back... theres some clever video editing going on... that looks like it was all done in post production. notice the hands.

  • TAKE THAT APPLE!!

  • @RealConty you took that right out of my mouth

  • NASA + Google = Not ur Average Nexus S :)

It could easily be a fully NASA custom only Rom.

  • To all the guys complaining that their phone didn't have the same bootsplash: They obviously have a custom ROM, damit. Ever seen the CyanogenMod bootsplash?

  • watch?v=OR41aA3yhE8

  • Android the one

  • To all the idiots who say their phone boots the same: it doesn't. Take a closer look. On my fully up-to-date Nexus S, the Google logo disappears before the Nexus animation starts. Not so in this video at 1:15.

  • Wait... Charles L. Chen, Senior Software Engineer?! I could have sworn this guy fixed my transmission at Advanced Auto Repair in Mountain View! Something is definitely fishy here...

  • I am watching this from a nexus one and I can say we N1 won the space race and went first but nice to see the successor there

  • Gyroscopes in Nexus S are a must for zero G.

    The future is Android.

  • Kool

  • give us some Nexus Prime info, please!

  • 1:15 I've never seen stock android boot up like that? Ice Cream Hint? I hope.

  • @TechTune

I own a Nexus S device and when I boot up my phone the Google logo flashes off before the Nexus logo appears. In this video, the Google logo disappears into the Nexus logo.

  • @Ratslegsss

    I stand corrected :)

  • @runningsloth My nexus s is like that lol :P

  • @runningsloth sorry, thats the stock Nexus boot. only used on the Nexus One and Nexus S.

  • @NeoK182 i've had both a nexus S and one and it never booted like that. it just boots with no fades or effects... in this one there is a wipe transition from the google logo to the nexus animation, then the home screen flys into the screen... that ain't gingerbread.

  • @runningsloth alright i see what your talking about, the nexus logo flys in over the google. and yeah thats not part of the boot animation.

honestly the image flickers during that part so it could actually be CGI, or a new version of the boot image that nasa got and hasn't been pushed to the current released phones.

i can tell you that it's not ice cream sandwich as the rest of the OS is still stock gingerbread and does not match up with the ICS nexus s leak.

  • @NeoK182 yeah i noticed that too. guess its a false alarm. if you look at the hand, it skips, probably cuz there is a transition applied. someone must have run the stock footage through final cut or premiere.

  • @runningsloth The startup animation at 1:15 is standard on the Nexus S (I own one). Next Nexus phone will probably have a similar animation though.
