So i ran prime95 at the test just stressing out the cpu and when I woke up in the morning I see that my computer is on however, when I move my mouse I see the login screen and I log in and it feels like everything is starting up again however, I look at the results and there is no word on it failing how do I know if prime95 failed or did it finish completely?

If you have an aftermarket cooler, put a 120mm fan maybe 4-5 inches away from the intake. I dropped my temps by 7-8 degrees doing that with a CM N520. Fucking amazing. I'm at 3.6Ghz at 1.35vcore on a PII 955 BE with a shitty fucking cooler. Couldn't even get 3.4 without the fan trick.

i have a question. i went to the store and got 1500 worth the parts. everythign except a new power supply becuase i didnt need one. i told the guy at the store i wanted to run at ddr3 2000. so he sold me a board with ddr32000 printed on the box. and then he sold me ddr3 2000 excelleram ram 4 gigs/ now matter what i do this ram will only run at 1833 anything over that i get error on prime 95 and blue screen saying ram defective. doss ram test also shows issues. but again at 1633 its ok.
What kind of tests can you do recommend when you purchase a computer to make sure all the parts are good. I don't plan on overclocking but want to make sure all of my gadgets work :P

What does it mean if my benchmarks were lower than the benchmarks on the mersenne(compared with the same type of CPU as mine) and my CPU usage during the stress test was less than 5% on the task manager, while yours was at 100%? and my cpu was overclocked.
@1AppleMaker Nah I figured it out, if its not at 100% that means I didn't stress test anything because when stress testing you are suppose to find a way to get the CPU to 100% usage to see if the CPU will stay stable at that point.

I would expect slightly better results given OC, but your numbers fall well within the range of reasonable results. If you filter the results page for only 32-bit benchmarks, you actually perform better than average.

cuz i think when i had mine running at 3.4ghz, it showed a CPU#4, but when i increased my OC.... it stopped showing #4
