  • So i ran prime95 at the test just stressing out the cpu and when I woke up in the morning I see that my computer is on however, when I move my mouse I see the login screen and I log in and it feels like everything is starting up again however, I look at the results and there is no word on it failing how do I know if prime95 failed or did it finish completely?

  • If you have an aftermarket cooler, put a 120mm fan maybe 4-5 inches away from the intake. I dropped my temps by 7-8 degrees doing that with a CM N520. Fucking amazing. I'm at 3.6Ghz at 1.35vcore on a PII 955 BE with a shitty fucking cooler. Couldn't even get 3.4 without the fan trick.

  • My standard i5-2500k scores the same as an average i7-2600 and more than an average 2500k overclocked by 30%.

  • hey guys... been running this off and on for the last few days checking my cpu...

anyone out there, im looking for a STABLE OC... got a intel core quad extreme (qx6800) stock is 2.93ghz, its on 3.2 right now, how high can i go and where should the voltage be?? using a antec freezer 7 pro cooler...

  • where the hell is that results.txt file anyway ? do i have to make my own in anyplace or what ? wtf ? It would be great if he makes automatically in the folder with prime95.exe ,otherwise, shows that it's in results.txt, but there isn't such file in my PC.

  • @BIOSHOCKFOXX and after it all finished with the benchmarking, i can't find the results, full place of texts, watching the comments here, i can't find the line "Best time for 768K FFT length: ****** ms. etc, some other stuff is showing up.

  • @McPePsii What's your core speed?

  • @rsx123 When I did it I was either on factory setting or I might have changed turbo to 4.0 either way its not a big jump

  • @McPePsii what's your cpu voltage? I just got mine down to 1.30volts at 3.8ghz on a shitty Hyper N520. Lowering you Vcore helps temps A LOT. This CPU is beast.

What is your CPU volt at? Try 3.8 at 1.35 volts then go down if you can.

  • please help !! i have a problem my cpu is not running at 100% with the benchmark test is that normal ??

  • i have a question. i went to the store and got 1500 worth the parts. everythign except a new power supply becuase i didnt need one. i told the guy at the store i wanted to run at ddr3 2000. so he sold me a board with ddr32000 printed on the box. and then he sold me ddr3 2000 excelleram ram 4 gigs/ now matter what i do this ram will only run at 1833 anything over that i get error on prime 95 and blue screen saying ram defective. doss ram test also shows issues. but again at 1633 its ok.

  • can someone help me, i run a quad core, and when i benchmark in prime95 it only goes up to CPU#3, is there suppose to be a CPU#4??

cuz i think when i had mine running at 3.4ghz, it showed a CPU#4, but when i increased my OC.... it stopped showing #4

  • So if i overclock and run this benchmark, if it doesn't crash by the end then i am fine?

  • @saikimimaru yep..but i recommend using LinX for 2-3 hours too..CPUs can pass prime95 and than fail in LinX..

  • @saikimimaru Also don't do the benchmark ...just select the first option and run it for 6-8 h and than LinX for 2-3h

  • @SavaMarkovicPilot I am not looking forward to stressing my cpu for 8 hours lol. That seems like overkill to me. It's not like i'll be using 100% of my cpu for hours on end lol

  • @saikimimaru if you are gonna overlclock you gotta do it..

I made a mistake in the first comment..Just run LinX for 2-3h and you are fine :D

  • Doesn't anyone notice the date which this was posted? R.I.P

  • What does it mean if my benchmarks were lower than the benchmarks on the mersenne(compared with the same type of CPU as mine) and my CPU usage during the stress test was less than 5% on the task manager, while yours was at 100%? and my cpu was overclocked.

  • @AznShigsta It means that your processor can perform much faster than those with higher numbers. Congratulations!

  • @1AppleMaker Nah I figured it out, if its not at 100% that means I didn't stress test anything because when stress testing you are suppose to find a way to get the CPU to 100% usage to see if the CPU will stay stable at that point.

  • So the program is saying I have some hardware problems but I don't know what kind says something like "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" and "Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file" and "Torture Test ran 0 minutes - 1 errors, 0 warnings."

They suggest 2 problems. 1. I have a bad computer. 2. I have hardware problems.

I have a good pc so I am confused what the hardware problem IS. I have a AMD Athlon II x4 stock speeds and Windows Experience Index score is 7.2

  • hey there! i got a lil question: Might it be possible that my cpu works FASTER when i use my q6600 @ 3.0 ghz with a standard cpu-voltage than using it @ 3.2 Ghz with a normal voltage? or does higher Ghz automatically mean faster? becuz thats what i did, im here at 3.2 ghz and still standard voltage and i feel like games worked better with 3,0 Ghz and standard volatge? So is it possible or am i haluzinating? THANKS!!!

    What is wrong :(

  • You should include your CPU type with your results. Your numbers are pretty average.

  • its a LOW AMD x3 720BE , but i unlocked the 4th core and i overclocked from 2,8 ghz to 3,0 ghz .

    It cant bE :D

  • I would expect slightly better results given OC, but your numbers fall well within the range of reasonable results. If you filter the results page for only 32-bit benchmarks, you actually perform better than average.

  • @XtraLongChiliCheese what processor?

  • @XtraLongChiliCheese 768K FFT - 3,070ms

    8192K FFT - 45.674ms

    :)

  • When i run the benchmarking test, my Core #0 runs at 100% all the time, but the Core #1 jumps from 0% to 100% all the time.

    Why?

  • How do you find the results.txt file?

  • You find the result txt file in the same folder as you have the program

  • Nice video very helpful. Thanks!

  • I just ran prime95 and looked at my results what else can I do with the program?

  • @numptybaws3 You can join the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) and donate your spare CPU cycles to search for very large prime numbers. I link to the GIMPS site in the info.
