Sometimes the singing is out of tune and sometimes the singing sounds out of tune because the guitar is out of tune. Apancani is right: A minor instead of C!

It was most likely due to that fact that most people sing especially well in 1 or 2 specific keys. And perhaps he wasnt hitting the notes when the capo wasn't on. As a musician, I can understand the purpose of the capo.
