  • Jules and Vincent in the future xD

  • I love the smell of redshirts in the morning. Smells like...victory!

  • This scared more than a little of the fuck out of me as a small child.

  • It must be one of the settings between the 'kill' and 'vaporize' ranges.

  • He's dead, Jim.

  • i think its fair to say Remick's dead then

  • @thorleyc2 No open casket for him.

  • Mama brain-slug is angry about her dead babies.

  • this is by far the most fucked up scene in TNG, I kinda wish they did more of this

  • 1:41 is that an alien?

  • @alexlion0511 No, it's obviouly from Earth.

  • I got the sucker.

  • I forgot how badly animated those little critters were...

...but this is still the episode that scared the shite out of me as a child.

  • Horrible special effects even for then.

  • That was like Pulp Fiction before they shot the dude in the bathroom. But with a hardcore ending. Can't believe this is TNG.

  • @E139486 Actually, the guy from Pulp Fiction got shot in a car.

  • @EltonvonCthulhu I mean when Jules and Vince look at each other after having been fired at by the guy with the "hand cannon." They pause, look at each other, and then start firing.

  • and I thought this will come back in later episodes. NOT

  • ITS A FUCKING HYDRALISK

  • Picard>Kirk.

    YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT!

  • I have never seen Picard so revolted by another life form than he was at 1:45

That was the face of utter disgust.

  • @LivesForJihad It was a parasite, and not the good kind like the Trill symbionts. It was a lot like the Borg, taking away a persons will and identity and using them for their own ends. Plus it was freakin' disgusting.

  • So fucking cool!

Good to see the Polymorph make an appearance ;)

  • i can remember watching this when it originally aired. I think it was 1988 and I was 8 years old. I'm still amazed how this made it past the TV censors at the time.

  • Now who's gonna clean up that fucking mess?

  • i'm pretty sure they didn't show everything on tv when i watched it 20 years ago. but then again, i was hardly 10 years old so maybe it was for the better *g*

  • Pause @ 0:35

    U MAD BRO?

  • Crazy! Nothing helps you're conspiracy theory like killing everyone involved with it.

  • Smacks of Cronenberg.

  • I'm so glad the effects on TNG got much better over the seasons.

  • It's awesome to see this scene uncut and in full lenght, after all the years. Here on german televion the scenes from 0:40 to 0:51 and from 1:25 to the end (LOL) were always cut out. Even today they don't show this scenes, obvisously they think it's too violent for the germany tv audience.

  • Possibly the goriest moment in the entire series.

  • "We seek peaceful coexistence." BLAM!

  • @roboticpigeon42 "We come in peace (shoot to kill, shoot to kill, shoot to kill)"

  • They did a great job on Remmicks neck...Looked perfectly normal up until it bulges with bugs.

  • I just watched this episode today.

  • 5 People are infected

  • at 1:37 watch picard stop himself from saying 'what the fuck'.

  • what the fuck? this is real?? I never see this chapter in my country, maybe was to gore! AWESOME

  • @Foxtrop13 Could be. It was cut from the German Version (although, strangely, the bit with the exploding head was seen in "Shades of Grey" one season later)

  • NEAT-O

  • Comment removed

  • you know he dead with that head shot

  • we mean you no harm- HEAD ASPLODE!

they have a strange notion of what no harm means...

  • 1:19 "yeah fuck that!"

  • I had always hoped they would continue with this episode. At the very end they knew a signal had been sent deep into space. Some alien race sent those things to take over starfleet. Probably some sort of genetically engineered weapon.

  • @rbh1138 Actually I read somewhere that the "Voyager" episode "In the Flesh" was originally intended as a sequel to this episode, where it would be revealed that the parasites were the product of Species 8472, created to infiltrate Starfleet. This explains how they were able to duplicate San Francisco with the accuracy that they did. For some reason, though, this line was cut from the episode.

  • Aim for the comb over!

  • ... thats just disturbing...

  • Crab People.. Crab People!

  • pause at 1:26

  • "We seek peaceful coexistence!"

(they look at each other briefly)

Nah fuck that, let's shoot it.

  • COEXIST WITH THIS

  • The thing looks like an alien chestbuster version of the predator. Awesome!

  • Disgusting, hilarious and the animation at 0:32 is so crap it's funny.

  • YES!!! YES!!!

  • I remember when I first saw this scene,it freaked me out...Was this really Star Trek I was watching? Exploding heads? Aliens living in people? Surely this was too much for TV!!!

Looking at it now,it's obviously dated. But back then it shook some people up.I think they had to attach a "Parental Discretion Advised" tag to... this episode, which was unheard of for Star Trek.

  • nice.. special effects..

  • Well, that was... totally disgusting.

  • I'm not sure if there were charges pressed against Captain Picard and Executive Officer (X.O.) Riker for the death of Dexter Remmick.

  • BOOM HEADSHOT !!!!!!!!!!!

  • what just- ...

  • I saw this and was like 0_0.

  • The pre-borg.

  • Until a year or two ago i never saw the uncut version of this. If you read about the episode on wikipedia it basically says that after this episode they decided that the series was getting too dark, so they stopped it. Shame really, would have been nice if star trek was more adult.

  • So that's a no, then.

Notice it's Riker that goes for the messy head shot. Pfeh, typical Riker.

The expression from 0:35 cracks me up though. "Oh yeah, bitches! That's right!"

  • @Ryushinku riker was always a asshole - head shots seems good with him.

  • This episode, along with the one were the deaf mediator lost his friends after being vaporized, disturbed me.

  • WELL....... MY HEAD ASPLODE

  • What. The. Fuck.

  • Last time I order the taco platter from the mess hall...

  • Star trek just has everything; holograms, teleportation, androids, mindreading, cyborgs, exploding heads... My mind crumbles under it's awesomness.

  • dudes i cant believe i thought this guy was hot.

  • @OldiexOldie1134

    A-sploding head dude? Um...

  • Alien: The Next Generation.

  • I remeber seeing this when I was little, but I remember it looking cooler...and less cheesey. I remember a big firey explosion and his flesh buring off AS his head asplode.

  • Comment removed

  • Holy! His head asploded!

  • I was always disappointed that they never returned to this story. They left it so open ended in the end that I was sure it would later become a 2 part of their return or maybe even a movie. Too bad, it would have been awesome.

  • @osirus5891

I agree, I always wondered what happend to those aliens, aparently they were all over the place, but after this episode you heared nothing from it again

  • @1ownjoo2 Once they killed the mother alien (the queen in Remmick's chest), they pretty much committed genocide, as it killed the entire race. They hinted at that shortly after.

Definitely the most gruesome scene in Star Trek history though. I don't know how they got away with that. Haha. 'Tis a great episode though, one of my favorites.

  • piccard and #1 were like "what the **** "

  • YOUR HEAD ASPLODE.

  • kill it with fire!!!!!!!!

  • awesome 1:26

  • Wee Seeck Piecefull Coecksistunz

  • you can see the steel rod attached to the critters ass at 43

  • i love it. i just watched this and had to find it to show to my friends... *POP*

  • 1:26 BOOM HEADSHOT!!!

  • You know Remick, some more iodine in your diet would have helped you with that.

  • That...was...disgusting!

  • lol this was soo strange to see back in the day on tv!! My brothers & I all looked at each other like "Did they just seriously splatter that guy's head? & have a worm mother pop out of his guts???"

  • "Our continuing mission, to seek out new life AND KILL THEM"

  • LMAO! Picard was so much less diplomatic in the early episodes.

  • haha head asplode

  • This was cut to bits when it was shown originally on the BBC!

  • Really? that's weird that they'd show more in the US...

  • PICARD FIRED HIS LAZOR

  • @LordKrezos

    PICARD FIRED HIS PHAZOR

  • Lazor, Phazor, they're all pretty much the same thing when you think about it :P.

  • Hooooowly sheeeet o.o

  • I remember seeing this as a kid. X_x Yeah, it's amazing they allowed that on free tv back then, let alone STTNG, it was great! XD

  • someone needs to dub the alien music over this. oh, and get the cheese to sickbay

  • LOL

Why did they kill him if he seeks peace? Hilarious

  • because they take over the hosts bodies and make them do random shit. Like take over the world, and blow up innocent ships.

    Parasites to the EXTREME!

Watch the episode (If you haven't already) It's a good one.

  • i love star treck i watch it with my dad all the time

  • ASPLODE!!!

  • This clip reminds me of the time I tried to make a protein shake with a gallon of milk and a whole carton of eggs. That blender was GONE!

  • that was foul! this isn't something you normally see in tng!

  • lol awsome

  • WE Seek peaceful coexistence. No really I mean that. Just because I sound sinister.. It's just the way I talk...really.

  • Suprisingly gory for star trek lol

  • super joke.

  • HOLY...FUCKING...SHIT

  • Because it was RIPPED OFF FROM ALIEN! ROFLMAO! :)

No seriously, it was. Fuck, I used to be grossed out by this scene when I was a kid, and now it just seems...well, kinda silly. :D But still cool.

  • That was horrible. xD

  • If you look you can see the pole that the parasite is attatched to when he eats it.

  • The look they give each other at 1:19 is priceless: "We're busting a cap in this muthafucka, right?"

  • ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME TREK EPISODES EVER!!! Also....banned in every country except Canada when it came out. Guess the rest of the world are a bunch of pansies.

  • I love Canada, but you gotta admit, the irony is staggering.

  • Sorry bud, I watched it premier in the states.

  • this part of the episode is made of win and awesome.

pretty corny now but if you lived back in the day, you watched this saying "what the shit?!"

too bad they didnt have more gritty scenes like this, one thing i remember about the star treks was how clean they deaths on the show were (even though the body count was insane, how many ships and shit blew up with how many hundreds of ppl on each 0_o)

  • @pnexpers

There is a scene on Enterprise when Captain Archer gets shot with a 45 and it looks like a real gunshot wound.

  • This episode isn't liked by the Trekkies because these aliens are clearly a take off of a take off of 50's to 70's era "detente" communists.

  • this is outright disgusting.... I could barely take jurassic park but this .... I'll probably record this episode but not watch it.

  • What the hell is wrong with these people who think that this is a good episode and one of the best of tng? This episode is terrible. This kind of story was better done in invasion of the body snatchers. Here it's just stupid and also pointless because it's never followed up in the series.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAA

  • THIS IS HOW YOU NEGOTIATE!

  • it would have been cooler is riker had said "I do not envy whoever has to clean that up".

  • That look of "WTF?" on Picard's and #2's face after the alien pops out is priceless. At 1:45

  • you mean #1

  • Great! Love this series.

  • lol, does this remind anybody of chestburster?

  • Yes, but weirder.

  • Wow, someone musta broke the special effects budget trying to pull this off cause it looks pretty bad! CGI must really be starting to spoil me.

  • I wonder what the bill would be to get that chair cleaned.

"We like peaceful co-existence so we must make your head asplode."

  • In Star Trek II, the bugs entered through the ears ( they do like similar) . In this episode they enter through the mouth - so what next, they enter through the ass ?

  • @DeltaPavonis.

How unoriginal would it be to enter through the ass... How about something more...Upfront...

  • Actually it wasn't original at all because I was just parroting what someone else said. I found it funny, so I posted it here. Anyway "something more Upfront" - now that concocts a nasty and painful image in the mind ! :)

  • It aired, I remember it. It was just edited down. The unaired UK episode was "The High Ground" because in it Data noted the IRA won Irish reunification in 2024 after a "successful terrorist campaign". The BBC thought this a tad Provocative and didn't air the episode.

  • Your head asplode.

  • "We seek peaceful coexistence"

    "I think not"

    *PWN*

  • Usualy when the Alien talks peace the Federation gives them time to talk. That's how Kirk did it anyway.

  • I remember seeing this as a kid going,"What the hell?" Of course, this is before I saw the Alien films so I was thinking,"How the hell did Star Trek get away with something like this back then?" Pretty cool episode. Thanks for posting this scene. Do you have the whole episode posted somewhere here?

  • um...... what?

  • ROTFL the bug thing he eats looks like a Bionicle or some Lego thing.

    Picard's like "WTF?"

  • go beam yourself, scotty.

  • classic episode.

  • Awesome!

  • This is the greatest moment in star trek history.

  • lol this looks like something from men in black

  • O_o Cheesy effects to the max.

  • Reminds me of John Carpenter's "The Thing"

  • Set phasers on fun!

  • Thats the most non-convincing "We come in peace" ever.

  • lol picard is like eww. Riker is enjoying it.

  • Too bad they never followed up on that story line. The Borg seemed to take front stage after this episode.

  • They kinda eliminated the alien threat.

  • They are irrelevant. You shall like the borg.Resistance is futile.

    :P

  • These things were supposed to be the Borg. That's why they had the buildup with "Coming of Age" and then this one and the destruction of the outposts in "The Neutral Zone". But when time came for the big reveal on "Q-Who?" they didn't have enough money for insectoids so they did cyborgs instead. I would have loved it if they'd been able to do what they originally intended.

  • they brought the race back in the DS9 novels. they explain them as an offshoot of the Trill.

  • Eww, was that shown on TV?

  • Yep.

  • I th0ught their weapons were much more efficient than that. 1 blast- stun; 2 blasts- ogbliteration. I think it is sad that they caused that alien to be aborted. lol

  • Lol, never actually seen it un-cut!!!

  • Dude that was funny....

"we seek peaceful coexistence..." (BZZZZTT) BLAM

  • OMG! We're all gonna die! It's Godzilla! Run for your lives! Ever monkey er every man for himself!

  • YES! This is one of my favorite scenes from early TNG...so gross but the special effects are so hilarious you can't help but laugh! Thanks for posting this!
