The Cowsills were much more talented than The Osmonds. That was a good live performance. Susan Cowsill was really into her dancing there. Her funky Chicken was hilarious because she was doing it so fast and was holding onto a tambourine and couldn't swing her arms.
gosh, what a quirky, syncopated song! and they are not lip-syncing....it sounds like garage music, i didnt know they played their instruments. susans dancing is almost comical and cute at the same time, i cant help but watch her, she sure is bizzy!
it would have been nice to actually be able to hear the song, us people who were young when they were a big hit sometimes have less than perfect hearing now
the dance Susan is doing was very popular at that time. Like several other dances it was called" the funky ?" My age is showing-can't remember ,I want to say the "the funky monkey"? Anyone remember?
She was a much better performer than that stupid Susan Crough on the Partridge Family series. Crough's character was based on Susan Cowsill. Even when I was a kid I thought she sucked. (Not an ounce of talent)
weezerz, I never said Susan Cowsill wasn't talented. She is. I've heard she has perfect pitch. Don't know that, since she was always in the background, but anyway, that's what I read somewhere.I just commented that I saw a Seinfeld episode about Elaine's dancing, and when I stumbled upon this, it reminded me of it and I thought it was funny. Sorry if I offended you, I was making a, what I thought, a reasonable comment on her dancing.
weezer, you are correct. I always thought the little girl, though cute in her own way, was very, very lame and what was the point of her anyway. She really didn't contribute much, other than she was a "cute little girl" in the band. Her character didn't grow, like say, Danny and Laurie and Ketih did. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will you people quit tripping...damn if we aren't getting all ballistic and social commenting over a Cowsill video. Live and let live...Lennon said it best..."Life is very short and there's no time...for fussing and fighting my friends..."

Her "dancing" was more than likely the direct result of excessive drug use during those turbulent times and she's actually spazzing out due to withdrawls...*sigh*...I wish I was on whatever she was!!! :)~
Get over it you dumb left-over...my comment was meant to be funny in a sarcastic and ironic sort of way. You can't deny that drugs were very much a staple of life back in those times even if she necessarily wasn't on any...we're talking about the era of free-love & bra burning. I don't expect you to admit it though or to even find humor in it now, looking back...your whole generation was a backwards one & the beginning of the end. Fantastic! This is before my time and a very, very recent discovery for me but damn! It's great to know that there was another group other than the Osmonds. I

i thinks susan cowsill's dance matches the syncopation of this song. she is so cute and the boys are playing their instruments.

When they camera is on the long shot, I can't tell which of the two females is Susan. They both look so young.

Susan could dance couldn't she? Even at that young age, she had IT on stage.

The Partridge Family could'nt play for sh*t they were a rip off of the Cowsills.
ziggycat999 2 years ago 4
@ziggycat999 They weren't supposed to play; they were fiction. Sure sold a lot of records though! Still, the Cowsills are great.

LOL, no offense taken. I just think that they should have casted someone better than the little girl on the partridge family.
